    Evening :hello:

Bonne anniversaire Ampersand (I don't know what belated is in french.. Sorry!)
Chicken - I love Asc0t. Its gorgeous now that it has been redeveloped. Hope you enjoy the day!

    1) Stunning moon and sunrise on the drive to work this morning
    2) I was treated to lunch with our PR team to thank me for all my support last year. I had smoked salmon followed by lamb shank. I'm still stuffed!
    3) Nice chat with someone who I used work quite closely with. He is applying for a transfer to the States... I really hope he gets it because he needs a new challenge... And rather selfishly I hope he will put in a good word for me. He normally keeps his cards really close to his chest I am really honoured that he told me his secret.
    4) I have made an appointment with HR to discuss the future. I am really excited about this as the lady I was speaking to sounds really positive that she can help me take the next step in my career.
    5) Carrot cake for breakfast :)

    Night night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Ampersand- a Happy Belated Birthday to you :)

and get well wishes to all in need xx

millie- naughty ponios -re the fence, I guess "Chase me Charlie" without rider was on her mind . Mine jumped out of his stable once and I only knew this because he had knocked out a plank of wood above the door frame and then jumped our mini paddock gate /fence to join the others . I thought that my friends had let him out as there was not a scratch on him:)

Good to know that it's not just mine who specialise in demolition/escapism!! :)

OH got some free tickets to Asco* via this site. I have never been to this racecourse and it is flat racing which is what I used to "do" as an apprentice jockey , so we are bound to lose

Oooh, how fab :) - but what problem do with sweary police have with a-s-c-o-t??

    My five for today...

    1. Got up early and made a big pan of chili for dinner tonight :) There was meant to be some left for tomorrow, but it seems to have been inhaled!!
    2. NSD- took healthy snacks and lunch to work
    3. Had a nice chat and provided a listening ear to three people who needed to offload. I think people do this more as I am a qualified counsellor, but I don't mind:D
    4. Was late getting to the yard, but my :A parentals had done most of my jobs for me and made me sit down with a cup of tea and a biccie, oldie (who was free range) came over and demanded a biccie. Spoiled ponio!
    5. Am currently snuggled up in my PJs and skanket, [STRIKE]hiding behind my laptop at the scary bits because I am chicken [/STRIKE] watching sleeping with the enemy :shudder:

Hugs to anyone in need xx

    Evening all.

ampersand - a belated happy birthday for yesterday. It sounds like you had a nice day even away from your beloved France. :)

Broomstick - thanks for the recipe - that sounds very good indeed, and another one for my file of recipes 'borrowed' from the forum. ;)

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Painkillers. My arm feels very sore and bruised after the implant, and painkillers did a lovely job of stopping me squeaking every time I moved. ;)

    2) I was meant to have yesterday morning as a half day holiday but, as I ended up feeling too unwell to go to work in the afternoon, my manager decided I should take the whole day as sick leave. That means I get my half day holiday back to take another time. :D

    3) I managed to be very restrained in the face of a tempting array of yellow stickied items in Mr T at lunchtime - my freezer desperately needs defrosting and it's not going to happen if I keep putting more stuff in it. :o

    4) My first attempt at meatloaf was a qualified success: it tastes lovely (if a bit salty - I was a touch heavy-handed with the seasoning :o) but didn't hold together very well so I ended up with bits of meatloaf rather than nice, neat slices. I can work on it now I know I like it, though.

    5) Watching the second part of the documentary about the Great Barrier Reef with mog: this time it was the stingrays that caught his attention, which have got to be an even worse thing to hunt than sharks!

    Have a pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Belated bonne anniversaire, Ampersand, from me as well.

Am posting earlier today. I have to collect DS1 from bus station at midnight-ish, otherwise I would be getting an early night tonight. Here's Wednesday's pleasures:

    1. Had a productive day working at home until mid afternoon then drove DS1 into town to catch a coach and I parked in my free garage parking space.

    2. Early evening, I got the food shop done for the week, absolutely everything, so I have no excuse for spending until next Wednesday. Also got some fuel for the car but not as much as I wanted because I hadn't got the money left after food so I'm just going to have to drive even more economically! :)

    3. I stopped off at the bank to pay in a cheque and while I was there I decided to sort out opening a new current account with a card so that I have an internet-only 'safe' account totally separate from my other one in order to sell books. I'm really pleased that I've done this. It's going to open up some proper book dealing at long last. I know the books I have will sell and I'm so looking forwards to a big declutter.

    4. There seemed to be music everywhere in town from buskers, lovely music not rubbish. There was some really good folk violin and someone playing classical stuff, again on the violin, to a really high standard. I even went browsing in the art shop (and didn't buy anything) and someone was whistling some 1940s/50s film music quite beautifully. :D

    5. The two art books I ordered with an Amazon gift voucher arrived today and I'm so excited about them: very inspirational - they make me want to get going on ideas.:D I have lots of art materials that have been gathering dust so I'm intending not to spend money there.

    Sleep well,

    B x

my 5 for the day -

    1. postie brought me the garden vouchers from DS...thank you lovely DS :A

    2. she also brought me a generous sample of men's body spray but it's so nice I'm keeping it for myself :p

    3. she also brought me (wasn't she a kind postie today?) a trial size washing powder, enough for 16 washes if used per the instructions so 32 washes using my measuring method - halve everything :D

    4. had the windows and back door open to let the fresh air in most of the day, the pets took advantage by going in and out every couple of minutes! But I mustn't complain, it saved me from having to do my usual job of door attendant

    5. gave my Sun priority code to another MSE'er rather than throw it away as I won't be able to take advantage of it myself

    Night night, sweet dreams
    s :)
