Oops - forgot to post last night so I'm logging on quickly to keep on track...
    Yesterdays:
1/It was my rest day (doctors orders) so I went back to bed after sending my lads to school, and dozed til 10.30.
2/ A neighbour was coming for coffee so I went and knocked on the door of a lady who's just moved in opposite and invited her round too. It was too late notice but we had a nice chat when I was there and I think she appreciated being asked. Had a good chat with the other neighbour. Nice to have time now and again to pause and catch up with folk.
3/Snuggling up on the kitchen sofa to listen to The Archers in the afternoon - (then going back to bed for another sleep).
4/ Hubby getting home with my Lakeland sale order ... particular highlight was eating my way through a 49p box of mint cremes!
5/ Frozen homemade meals for tea ... lasagne from when friends came over Christmas and left the leftovers, cider pork for DS1, Yellow label soup with 'garlic toast ' for DS2 ... leaving room in the freezer for a bag of pre-Christmas whoopsied bargains which have been stored in m-i-l's freezer.
Hope you all have agood day.

    Well, yesterday was pants.

    Will try and find 5.

    1) House quite tidy.

    2) Made kebabs for tea (pork, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and pineapple) followed by apple and blackberry crumble.

    3) Watched Holby City.

    4) Meeting about son at school went OK. He has to choose something to put on his desk when he needs help (he has selective mutism so won't ask!) He will also have a behaviour chart and is impressed that 5 good days will mean a treat.

    5) Went to the barbers and smaller son had loads off and looks much better. And younger, if you can say that about an 8 year old!

Now the rubbish bits. Might delete this later when I feel less awful... School meeting was exhausting and I felt fed up that I have to face all these challenges on my own. Barbers was awful in that smaller son cried all the time his hair was being cut then sat swearing while older son had his cut. No amount of threats would make him stop chuntering and I couldn't take him outside because older son would have been left inside.
  • Ampersand - belated Happy Birthday :)

Debtfree2012 - I hope you feel better now. Flu is a horrible thing. I have got a mere cold and am fed up of it!

VJsMum - hope you also feel better

Frith - hugs, hope today is a better one

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Veg box arrived (they have 2 weeks off over Christmas) which meant lovely hm veg soup and bread for tea

    2. I received a receipt book that I had won from a giveaway on this site! Thrilled!

    3. I have been accepted to test some beauty products and all the goodies arrived. And there were some real lovely items, including a Bobbi Brown eye cream and a Trilogy cleanser. Yippeeeee!!

    4. Another moonlight run with my headtorch. I got the fear though as went a different route, past an uninhabited imposing old mansion on a nearby estate - I kept expecting to see a face at the window - eeeek! The reason for this madness is I run competitively, so train most days a week and cannot get out always at lunchtimes. So, it was fun but frightening!

    5. Got lots done at work today. Long may it continue!
  • Vjsmumm I can completely relate I emptied the freezer so er this is new to re stock:- :jWe went a little overboard with the rtcs at Asda for 5p and 10p last night, right time and right place again, though it was incredible, while I was helping a lady read the labels as she could not see without glasses other people broke out into a fight over items a scarey sign of the times I guess. To be able to fit it in the freezer we had to defrost it first he he... but all we will need is fresh veg and milk for some time to come now so can hopefully get this from a market.

    No Petrol Day.:j

I have spent a little online today, I have bought some evening primrose, I ran out of vitamins a few months ago and as it is hard to justify affording it we didn’t replace, but they are now in a half price sale, though not really half price as I have bought something else to try as we both have arthritis and people have recommended giving rose hip a try so we are. I am surprised how much better I feel for the evening primrose, and hope that justifies getting it, well it does in DH eyes.:rotfl:

Tea tonight is lots of fresh veg with some lamb and mint meatballs (10p) in earlier rtc’s today, with a choux bun rtc dessert, is that a balanced diet fresh veg ad choux bun...

Putting fat balls out for the birds and squirrels and love how they are there immediately

Mopping the kitchen and hallway, and that content but worried feeling of throwing the very grubby water/disinfectant away.

2 loads of washing and drying done

Sorry bit of an epic post.

    1. NSD no. 8 for the month

    2. Slight hangover but less than I probably deserved ;)

    3. OH has told me he's going to take me and DD out to brunch on Saturday :)

    4. To distract myself from wanting to spend money I don't really have on hangover food at lunchtime (of course my packed lunch wasn't what I needed, far too healthy!), I popped into the library and took out some great books, a mixture of crime and chicklit.

    5. DD had a fab school trip and is now snuggled up on the sofa looking very tired but happy

    6. Cooking baked potatoes for dinner in the Remoska, nomnomnom.

Frith - hope OH stops being childish x

    Frith- big hugs

and get well vibes to the poorly people
while I was helping a lady read the labels as she could not see without glasses other people broke out into a fight over items a scarey sign of the times I guess

 I know people are struggling at the moment, but fights over RTC items in a supermarket- whatever next!?! I find people around here can be a bit aggressive. I found a few RTC goodies the other day, really need to sort the freezer though!

    Mine for today

    1. Farrier day: Survived farrier's dodgy jokes, farrier survived with just a nibbled bottom and is v happy with the ponios' feet :) It was nice to just spend the day with the horses, pootling around
    2. Took a packed lunch and shared with Mrs YO and we have a much needed catch up. Oldie was trying to steal said packed lunch.
    3. Mum bought them nets of apples and carrots from the farm shop- they like them cut up in their feed (although I am not sure they actually taste them, given the speed they hoover up said feed). Apples look nice, might pinch some to do some baking- feels a bit like stealing chocolate buttons off small children!!
    4. Popped into Home Bargains and picked up some, erm bargains for the home, incl cleaning stuff and the hugest pack of loo rolls ever. Amen
    5. OH is out, this shouldn't be a pleasure, but I am planning on donning PJs, pouring a glass of vino and raiding the xmas chocs whilst watching rubbish on the TV, then going to bed early and adopting a starfish position. Bliss :)

Hugs to anyone in need xx
