Hi all, I've been away for a few days at my mum's. Back to work tomorrow! Sort of good in a way as back to the normal routine but jeez what a thought!
My 5 for today:
1. Met up with 3 friends for a cup of tea at lunchtime. It was lovely to catch up and have some decent company.
2. Drove to tesco after - on the way there was the most amazing pink, red and orange sky. Quite breathtaking.
3. Paid for all the Tesco shopping with clubcard vouchers. I haven't shopped in Tesco for quite a while as have been using Aldi and Lidl but boy does it look expensive now!
4. I have swapped offices at home as my OH is now working from home also. So we changed our dining room into an office for me and he will get my old office. It has the best view in the house and is a lovely room - I have got it all cosy looking so this will hopefully make tomorrow's work horror (after 2 weeks off) more bearable.
5. HM veg cottage pie for tea. Absolutely yum which is just as well because we've got it for the next 3 nights!!0 -
Mine from today - thinking hard because I've had to wait in all day for an 8am - 8pm collection of a poorly laptop ... and guess what, nobody came. Combining that with two very stressed out pre-teens and no kitchen sockets working, it's all a bit tedious.
Nevertheless...
1/ waking to hear incredible birdsong - so loud I thought that the swallows were back on the telephone wires til I realised the window was slightly open.
2/ nice roast lunch using a tiny chicken someone gave us because it was out of date yesterday!
3/ peeling lots of leftovers off the chicken for tomorrow's sarnies and a roast meal to freeze for DS1 after school one day.
4/ noticing buds and shoots in the garden.
5/managing to iron today's 4 loads of washing ... and having a lie down afterwards!
Here's to the week ahead! xx0 -
5 for today (Sunday)
1) Waking up with OH. :-) And all our respective sons.
2) Tidying the garden up a bit. It felt like May, not January.
3) Watching the Man City/Man Utd game on the television and imagining OH and sons in the crowd! Pity their team lost. :-(
4) Having a quick game of football with smaller son.
5) School friend coming round for tea.
6) Don't know if I mentioned yesterday, it was 7 years since I walked out on my ex husband. :-)
7) Not long finished another chapter of Harry Potter (we're into book 4 now) then an extended chat with bigger son. Got cheese, biscuits and sloe gin ready and about to watch Casualty.0 -
Good evening all!
A lovely weekend:
1. Friday night in the pub with friends but only spent £10, plus I got a free drink as I found a pea in my rum and coke (??!?!)
2. Saturday was a shoot day - I was beating and OH was shooting - he shot his first pheasant...was chuffed to bits for him as he has been practising on clays.
3. 4 pheasants came home for the pot
4. At a friends house for pheasant fajitas and cards last night.
5. OH made me a lovely cup of tea in bed this morning
6. Farm shop visit for veg then Mr M's for rest of shopping - plenty of reduced bread and meat so the freezer is happy!
7. Made a big Nigella chilli with loads left over.
8. Took the dogs out for some training, the spaniel was a little star - she has really come on in the last 11 months.
9. OH is on TV in an advert for reserve forces - I'm very proud!
10. Cuddles with the dogs tonight watching TV and just chilling out.

Afternoon everyone, hope all is well
Got up this morning with a serious dose of CBAso its been a bit of a pottering day so far, but I do solemnly swear to get my butt into gear pronto!
On reflection though, Ive had a pleasant day so far:
1) Had a little lie in -OH was up at 6.40 and I had to set my alarm for an important phone call I had to make at 9am, but I had a lovely sleep till the buzzer went
2) Only had to put the Wm on once today, and its a lovely sunny, blowy day so its all fluttering away in the sunshine - one of my most favourite things is the smell of line-dried laundry.
3) Made a Chicken Pasta Bake for tea, using some of the LO Roast Chicken from yesterday, but best of all managed to use the half a tub of yoghurt which has been bugging me
4) Lunch was HM Leek and Potato soup - some of previously mentioned yoghurt had also been employed in the making of this! Seriously trying to reduce the amount of bread I eat, so I had a couple of savoury crackers LO from Xmas, with a bit of pate I found in the fridge which OH had promised to take as part of his packed lunch . If I hadn't found it today, I doubt I could have stretched another day out if it so would have put a spanner in the works of my "No food waste" pledge.
5) Going through a box of PW, I found the instruction manuals for my Breadmaker and Slow Cooker. No more guessing for me :j
Hope you all have a lovely afternoon and achieve all you aim to do.Don't put it DOWN, put it AWAY!You can't expect to Fly if you're still wearing your pyjamas! :j:j:j0 -

Not a great day my nerves about the house are getting the better of me today, so trying to calm a wee bit. It’s not helped by I had a phone interview for a role I applied for with no location on the advert, it is in Scotland, and lovely, however in my heart and in talking it over with my OH I know at this point in time with 2 sets of ill parents / in-laws if I had seen the location I would not have applied as we are needed here at the moment.
We laid in and cuddled as we both have a winter cold bug, us both feeling rough isn’t helping positive thinking.
Rather than a weekly shop I have just unloaded some RTC things from the freezer to defrost.
A hot tea in a big over sized mug.
Animal picking up on me needing cuddles curled up on my lap.
The whiska’s I ordered as it was offer very cheaply with free delivery arrived
The crocus’s are up in the garden there are splashes of purple and yellow colours amazing for January
Washing is like a military manovre today as I am behind, 2 loads of clothes washing done, 2 loads of animal bedding done, and still 3 more loads of our clothes to do, yup I am a bit behind, so it’s a pleasure having tackled it.0
