Glad you're feeling better, Kittikins!
Not been on here for a while as I've been doing a lot of socialising. My eating out budget has been well and truly trashed  but I've been enjoying myself.
Pleasures for today:
1. Working on my own all afternoon and getting lots done.
2. Email from a friend confirming she's available for curry next week.
What did I say about my eating out budget?!
3. Making a fresh batch of yoghurt and enjoying some with my lunch.
4. Managing to edit two chapters of my novel today instead of just one.
5. Freezing leftover curry from last night. The portions in the restaurant were huge :j and both of us asked for doggy bags. I'll be able to stretch what I brought home into two more meals.
6. Sticking to my exercise and housework schedules.
7. A no-spend day today.
8. Enjoying a slice of my homemade bread, toasted and spread with Marmite and hummus. A yummy combination.
9. Feeling good all day, despite the cold weather.
10. Making a fuss of my gorgeous new foster cat. She is adorable!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Mmmm savingforoz, you've had my favourite food, hm toast, Marmite and hummous......I'm hungry now! Have shop bread and Marmite *sigh*, it'll have to do!0

Sparrer - I too was surprised that they spent £500 a month on food, plus takeaways! I suppose their outgoings and bills must be cheap!
savingforoz - love the little pic! Is that your kittie?
Mine for today:
1. Miniature bottle of Black Grouse whisky arriving - yeah! I opened it on front of the postie and wondered whether to give to him as a Christmas thank you, but was too shy (honest!) and not sure if he would feel a bit patronised. So er, kept it for myself!
2. No one bothered me at work today
3. NSD
4. Yummy tea of Quorn kiev, mashed tatties and honey glazed parsnips. And peas. Sort of random!
5. Transferred £60 from Paypal to my account from ebay sales0 -
So late home, and so tired, but have just had to cover the car as need be out by 8am tomorrow to take DGD2 to orthodontist, then Christmas shopping with her and DD. Not complaining, I love their company. Just wish DS could be here then our Christmas would be complete.
CCP thank you, I don't know what channel it was on but will go back through the on demand thingy - I know how to do that!
Kittikins so pleased you're feeling better
Tealady I choose those vouchers for survey rewards too, aren't they useful for birthday's/Christmas?
savingforoz it's good to let the budget relax just now and again, otherwise watching the pennies would become soooo boring! Well done on saving the curry, I love it so much mine never gets to the freezer
1. slept til almost midday, but had been up most of the night coughing. Might have to give in and go see the gp for more anti-b's but lots to do so fighting it atm
2. postie brought me some pretty cards, one with a list of promises in so lots to look forward to with a dear friend in the New Year
3. nsd (presuming we can discount dd's/so's)
4. found a frivolous, pink, sparkly glove I thought I'd lost about a year ago. Pity I threw the other one away last week :rotfl:
5. excellent meeting this evening, they're all good but just now and again I go home wishing it didn't have to end. This was one of those evenings
sweet dreams0 -
Heigh ho, I'm not doing too well at posting pleasures every day. Life is still feeling a bit busy.
Five for Wednesday:
1. Getting on with Christmas shopping in town. We live in a really lovely area with loads of little shops and so I was shop-hopping for one-off things. Took ages!
2. It snowed, proper, enormous, drifty, designer snowflakes for quite some time while I was there :j:j I know this weather has been the norm for lots of people for the last few or more weeks but it was the first proper snow of the winter here. It's melted now but it was lovely while it lasted.
3. Four presents I'd ordered for extended family arrived from Amazon. My panic that I was way behind in Christmas shopping this year is fast disappearing.
4. Soup then quorn fillet with salad for supper.
5. Not very MSE but treating myself to a latte and flapjack while I was out. My feet were sore and it was fabulous to sit down and stop in the warm for a bit. It's ages since I've stopped for a drink and snack in a cafe.
Keep warm and sweet dreams

hello!
1.Bit of a later start at work, then had a very busy, stressy shift.
2.Picked DD2 up earlier from school to go to doctor, she has had a sore ear & a buzzing noise for 2 days, was in tears last night & this morning but no high temps, ........but bleurgh her ears were both clear & thinks it may have been an insect! buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.Gone now whatever it was!
3.Came home to DS's report card, apart from one subject which was okay everything else was excellent. Well done him, he has jumped an academic year & has coped very well with a new education system. Just needs to get himself a part time job!
4.Had a fabulous night at DD2's school. We (PTA) held a twilight market/carol concert & it went so well. The first time the school has done this. It was very well attended. DD2 was singing & DD1 helped on our stall. We did the Sausage Sizzle & drinksand sweets (or lollies as they call sweets here ,regardless of what kind of sweet they are!) which was so busy! My first sausage sizzle.....I just took the cash! This time last year I braved my first PTA meeting .....and look at me now! Anyway, we had a great night & raised a lot of money.
5.Went for an even longer walk with husband tonight & caught up on each other's day all up & down hills !
Time for bed for me!0 -
Hooray, someone has finally answered the phone for me to buy DS and DD their theme park passes as Christmas pressies (Your call is very important to us...etc aaaaarrrgggh)
Anyway, for yesterday before i leave to do things i should have already done!
1. Last day of work till Jan 4th! :j
2. Read my book on the train
3. Girls night out - for less than a tenner :money:
4. Managed not to buy bargains I don't need in La Senza
5. Got in a good walk to and from station
Must fly..I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Hi Everyone,
I have been posting over the past few days but the posts don't seem to be "sticking".
1) Lovely lunch today (paid for by one of my suppliers)
2) Lovely big fruit basket as my christmas gift from said supplier.... yum!! I have shared it with my colleagues though
3) Lovely large glass of wine wit lunch
4) NSD so far
5) nice atmosphere in the office and even the office grump has been chatty
But there have been a couple of downers today too.
The first (insignificant one in the grand scheme of things) was as i was leaving for lunch I realised I had a flat tyre.... grrr.....
Second was that one of my friends daughter was the focus of what we think may have been an attempted abduction this afternoon. She was followed by a strange man who was trying to convince her to get in his car. Luckily she was near home and even luckier she managed to call her dad who was home early from a meeting who rescued her. All very frightening for the poor lass. Anyway, apparently they are speaking to police at the moment.
So on that note... I bid you adieu
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
