My thoughts are with Sunnygirl xxxx

    My five for yesterday:

    1. Spending a lovely evening at my friend's flat, catching up with her and her news .

    2. The biggest and most delicious ever plate of spicy pasta for tea. I overestimated how much pasta I'd need for just me, but still ate the lot and very scrumlicious it was too. My stomach gurgled loudly and happily all evening :D.

    3. Great session in the gym, with 45 minutes of cardio work. Off there again today!

    4. Taking yet another box of stuff to the charity shop - my house is looking barer and barer :j.
    5. Carrying on decluttering the spare room.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

    Hi all,

have just popped on quickly as Noah's Mum let me know that you had all been saying prayers for us. Thank you so, so much. I haven't had much time to post over Christmas and didn't want to come on and drag the thread down so I didn't say anything.

We're all at home at the moment as MIL is being transferred back to her care home this afternoon and SIL is with her now. She'll be far happier & more settled there and they have excellent Pathway (end of life) care there too. I want the end to be quick for her so she isn't suffering. I am also glad that we got her into the home a couple of months ago as she has been happy there & loves the girls who look after her every day.

Many, many good wishes to you all for the New Year xxxxx
  • Happy New Year to each and every one of you xxx

    3) Eating burger n chips in the back of the car with my grand kids and laughing at my grandson for hiding half of his in his coat pocket for later....urgghh :)

    4) Prepared the table and most of the dinner for tomorrow my lot are all coming for New Years dinner all 17 of them!!!!!!

    Hiya all

I hope everyone has a happy new year.

    Mine for today:

1 Lie in (after staying up till nearly 2am finishing sock bunny I needed it)

2 Cup of tea and a chat at my mates house.

3 The little girl I made the sock bunny for loved it and has not put it down since and I got lots of hugs from her when I gave it to her! I am so pleased, well worth the hassle of making it.

4 A nice walk to the shop (they didnt have what I wanted but I really needed to stretch my legs), it did briefly snow but thankfully not for long and dd didnt have too many strops!!

5 Took the decorations down and up in loft, alot of kids toys up in rooms so even though living room is still a bit cluttered with toys at least i can walk through without tripping over transformers!!! :P

    See you all next year

Dear SunnyGirl, love and peace to you and all your family at this time, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. God bless

    My 5

    1. Having an amazing time with DS, his GF and the 3 beautiful DGC, who arrived last night :j

    2. Thoroughly enjoying being a hands-on Grandma again, my other DGC are all older now and able to do everything for themselves (these three can too really, I just enjoy spoiling them as I seldom see them :o)

    3. We all went to see DD this morning, we were 10 in the house plus 7 dogs and a parrot...what chaos, and what fun

    4. DS, GF and oldest DGS have gone to celebrate with DD and her family, the younger 2 and I are planning a midnight feast- I wonder which of us will fall asleep first! :rotfl:

    5. In good OS style, rubber chicken stretched to 6 dinners, some for sandwiches and a treat for the dog and both cats...the rest will be made into soup stock tomorrow :T

I wish you all you wish for yourselves and more in the coming year, peace, good health and happiness - and the very best of MS to you all :A

ps. my candle is ready for midnight :)

    Dear all

Hope you have all had a good day!

Kitchenbunny, I will try to post a pic of polar bear tomorrow ... it's very basic, I cut around a pastry cutter (!) to get the shape and then sewed two pieces of felt together ... however DS2 is now expecting a polar family so I'm going to have to make some more and get more creative!

Thanks Olliebeak, I will try to post a pic of sock monkey too!

These are my five for today ...

1 Making a sleep-cap and scarf for sock monkey out of leftover material from sock-dog, so DS1 and DS2s sock pets colour coordinate! DS1 has told me that he will keep his monkey for ever and ever and has even designated a special pillow for him at night time!

2 Reading a book of 'polar wit and wisdom' with DS1 and 2; the philosophical snippets were well over their heads so we made up stories about each of the animals and were in hysterics for most of the morning

3 Coming up with 'family resolutions' for 2010 at the dinner table tonight ... we will get our school and work clothes ready the night before, we will clear away after dinner and get the breakfast table ready and we will go to the family service at church more often!

4 Walking down the street tonight, underneath all the sparkly Christmas lights, singing Winter Wonderland with DS1; I was so moved by the words and his beautiful voice that it made me cry, bless him

5 Starting a New Years Eve tradition of raclette! Delicious! And it got DS1 and DS2 to eat loads of different veg so that kept me happy too!

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and a Prosperous and Peaceful 2010!

Ooh, nearly forgot another 'pleasure' for today

6 Finding a metre of dalmatian spotted fleece in fabric shop at bargain price of £3.50 today and DS2s unequivocal faith in me that I could sew him a cuddly dog ... this will be the biggest sewing project I have undertaken so I have told him it might be quite some time before doggie is born ... if anyone has any tips they will be very gratefully received!!!
