  • Good evening all.

Millie- sounds awful for you x your OH has not painted a cross on the front door has he ?

going to struggle for 5 today

    1. longer day at work - my back had gone into spasm so as soon as I got through the front door had a diazepam tablet had a hot water bottle made for me and was asleep in less than 5 minutes !Boy I needed it.

    2. Wrapped up my mums present for her birthday tomorrow and took it round to her as I will have left for work before she is up .

    3. My mum had brought a newspaper for me -not for its comic like content , but for some tokens that she knows that I am collecting.

4.Night in on my own so I can watch stuff OH hates like escape to the country and grand designs .

    5. Looking forward to my electric blanket and toasty warm bed. Benzo's have made me thirsty and tired, but not hungry so skipped tea in favour of sleep.

    Good night all x

    5 or so for today.

    1) Popped in to see mum and dad early on.

    2) Went round the 2nd hand shops and got a demin jacket, formerly from Monsoon.

    3) Went to the cathedral.

    4) Texts from various friends.

    5) Family railcard came through the post with my name on it - and MrB's!

    6) Boys so hostile and awful when they came back from their father's I thought I had tried every trick in the book to calm them down. When bigger son had run out of swear words and smaller son had bounced the Wii steering wheel off the tiled floor again, I remembered an old trick and turned the electricity off at the mains... cue having a bath and a game of Murder (not as bad as it sounds!) in the pitch dark, a chapter of Harry Potter and they are OK again now. Lanterns still lit and the electricity has "been mended". :-D

One more! 7) Bigger son this morning "M (one of the travellers in his class) doesn't live in a caravan anymore. She has moved and lives in a shallow". :-D (chalet!)

Frith I love the shallow! My DGD used to say their house had a cemetery - in fact it was a conservatory :)

    1. Managed to get up early enough to make the 8am slot for the service/MoT, rather than the 9am one I was originally booked in for. Kind mechanic brought me home rather than me waiting for a bus in the cold
    2. I was feeling quite chilly before I ironed all the line-dried bedding and made up the guest beds. Was warm as toast when I'd finished so no heating needed today
    3. Garage phoned to say car was ready at lunch time. Fortunately DNeighbour was home for lunch and took me to the garage afterwards, which is en route to her office. Car got through the service with just a new pair of windscreen wipers and through the MoT with no problems :T. So pleased as it's now 10 years old and has never cost silly amounts - yet!
    4. Gardening this afternoon, dead-heading and general tidying in the sunshine. A cold wind but I was well wrapped up so kept quite warm
    5. A cuppa with neighbour on her return from work, with a sliver of the Victoria sponge I made yesterday, which I took to her and her DD so I'm not tempted to eat any more. A simple pleasure but priceless, she knows I felt a bit flat after DS's weekend and it was good to have her company :)

Early bed tonight after getting up at silly o'clock this morning, with a hot chocolate, a banana and a good book :)

    Sleep tight

quick 5 before I hit the sack....

    1. lovely bright and windy pm so another day of line drying and cheered me up too
    2. NSD
    3. took DS2 into his reception class after being off school yesterday and lots of his classmates (some he has only known 3/4 weeks) were all really pleased to see him. I'm so glad he has lots of friends.
4.DH cooked tea (which was just about edibile TBH ) but the thought was there, so rare he cooks these days and I was so tired I was grateful to have a hot meal put in front of me.
    5. nice smiles and chats with various people including little people today.

and 6 feeling grateful we have a roof over our head and a warm bed to sleep in.... love our bed and my sleep

    night all, sleep well
  • 1) My rewarmed lunch of gf pasta and bolognaise sauce was lovely. Plus, I managed to eat a pear without dripping all over myself.
    2) A free bag of cooking apples. People bring them into work for anyone to take home and use but everyone seems to ignore them. Don't people peel things these days?
    3) Ds and his gf stayed in specially to keep me company as DH is away until tomorrow. So thoughtful!
    4) Had a long chat with DD this evening. She seems to be doing very well so far. Now hoping that I can persuade her to buy a long coat to keep her warm in these chilly times.
    5) Made some vegan chocolate and marmalade flapjack. Yum!

    Hope everyone is cosy

    Morning

Was feeling a bit off yesterday as DD has asked to go back to see a councellor. Thought things were getting better but glad she asked if she needs it and grateful to the NSPCC for being there in times of need.

    anyway pleasures for yesterday;
    1. Free bottle of Ribena to test
    2. Food shopping done and used a couple of vouchers for money off and one for 300 points to be added to my clubcard :money:
    3. Walked home from work which certainly blew the cobwebs away
    4. Still managing to get washing line dried

Hugs to all who need them

    Yesterday's pleasures

    1. OH and I went to see a band in Brighton and had a great time, they were even better live than on their great CDs :)

    2. Free parking, courtesy of his blue badge

    3. Free ticket for me, courtesy of being his 'carer' (no, I don't have to put on a nurse's uniform, lol)

    4. My friend who was going to babysit was ill, and another friend very kindly offered to have DD for a sleepover, despite the fact she and hubby then had 4 kids to get to bed! Apparently they were all little angels :)

    5. 'free' night out in that I took out £20 for drinks at the gig and we didn't spend any of it, so it will be saved to pay the babysitter tomorrow night when I have to go out again. Blimey, don't mean to sound ungrateful about going out 3 nights on the trot!!

    6. OH noticed the amount of tidying I've done, and was very complimentary :)

    7. Lovely exchange of emails with a girly chum :)

    8. Had another goodish night's sleep - and then again last night, just wish I felt better, am sitting here in the office with prickly eyes and coughing like a yard dog. Oh well, may need to work from home tomorrow!
It is lovely to be sleeping more normally again though, and I do love my nice snuggly bed, either with or without either of OH or DD sharing it with me.

    groaaaaaan: it's 10.55pm & still 22o, was 28o today & to be a warmer 30o tomorrow!

Just been to supermarket for milk & my car wouldn't start so had to call OH to rescue me , so thanks to him & a very kind gentleman got going again ........had a bar of chocolate to keep me company until he came....well it might have started to melt in the heat :)

1.good day at work, saw ducklings on the grass this morning & then they were back in river this afternoon. They do make me smile!

2.Picked big 2 enroute home from school as I worked an extra hour , DD1 especially was delighted with the lift....she has her mum's wee legs & has to go up & down all those hills in the heat! DS has huge ,long legs & just strides home!

3.made macaroni before going out for evening, still some left for tomorrow night. DD1 made cookies whilst oven was on.

4.Went to PTA meeting at one of the mum's house (tis most lovely!) and one of the other mums brought a HUGE platter of fruit that she had salvaged from a work event, so we sat & ate melon, oranges, kiwi, strawbs, grapes, pineapple. It was so yummy & juicy & just perfect for such a warm night.

5.Went to supermarket & got milk......and RTC bread, cream & flowers and special offer chocolate .....luckily as I needed it to keep my energy levels up as I waited all of 10 mins for my knight to arrive!

6.My mum & aunt start their long journey today to come & visit us! They arrive early Friday morning......I am taking the next couple of Friday/Mondays off, so will get to have a couple of long weekends with them being a tourist!

Need to head to warm bed now......last few months have been bloomin' freezing at bedtime....1 hot day & I'm moaning in reverse!!

Have a great day whatever you are up to M x
