Ladyhawk- I am sorry - it sounds as if you do not know yet for sure? You gave a great interview and obviously know your competitors well . If this is not to be, you gave it a bl***y good shot. I may still leave the champagne on ice though...:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. No - they haven't said for definite... rather that they will come back to me next week... so no negotiations on the package it would seem. I'm gutted to say the least because I really thought it was mine.
Oh well... I probably wasn't quite up for it anyway. Something better will come along....Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all.
1) The mog's all better today - so much so that the vet decided he didn't need to see him for a second check-up after all.
2) I popped home from work at lunchtime to make sure mog was still OK, which gave me the opportunity to make myself some lunch rather than buying something.
3) Made a spicy sausage and veg casserole for dinner - very tasty and I got three big portions out of it. :money:
4) I'm feeling very sleepy and it's a miserable night so I think I might curl up with a book in a minute.
I can't think of #5 but that will do me for a Monday.
Ladyhawk - I'm so sorry to hear about the job - as everyone else has said, I'm sure it will turn out for the best even if it doesn't feel that way at the moment.Back after a very long break!0 -
Oh dear Ladyhawk, I'm so sorry things seem not to be going as you (we all) hoped. However, never say never until they do
Frith very well done the solicitor and barristers, at least someone is making sense
ampersand so good to see you posting. Soapy Chinese sounds wonderful, still not got my bus pass so will drive and get park n ride. Will txt for directions. I've been following the Lucy thread, so pleased some of her babies are soon to have new homes
Carolyntia yes to bonfires, brings back memories of my childhood with smoking leaves (no, not that sort!), chestnuts, jacket potatoes and beefy soup
1. Up early, got to the pharmacy for my repeat by 8.45am, the garage to book my car in by 9am and the garden centre to buy a new trowel (think I left mine in the green bag which was emptied last week) by 9.15am
2. Rattled around the garden centre for half an hour til it was time to go to exercise class. Fatal. Bought a bulb planter, sack of compost and some plant feed, all on offer though so don't feel quite so guilty
3. An hours exercise class, threw myself into it after all the calorie laden food I had over the weekend. Felt as if I'd really had a good work-out
4. The 'corners' I'd been waiting for arrived so was able to finish the photo album I made for DB/DSiL's 40th anniversary
5. Friend came for tea, she loved my sponge cake which for once didn't turn out like two pancakes, and went home with a good chunk
6. As above, the car is booked in for its annual service and MoT. It's running beautifully atm, a sure sign they'll find something horribly expensive wrong with it
7. Hotel Inspector on now
Sweet dreams

Firth, having been on the receiving end of ex’s I did have a good laugh, I am so glad it worked out for you today.
Ladyhawk, I’m so sorry, I was hit a blow like that last week and I admit it took a few days to get the right mind set again, this week however I have an interview for a job that materialised on Friday for what sounds like a fantastic place to be involved with. Obviously if they haven’t said one way or another then fingers still crossed, but keep applying.
CCP, Really glad the moggies looking up, we have a vet kitty that goes up and down in funds coupled with their vet visits as well, but I’m glad the vets are there, I always thought I wanted to be a vet and admire their work, but I couldn’t do it, I’m glad they can thou.
1. Popped out to Lidls as OH wanted a charger that was on their offers for today, and they had loads in stock, they also had some screen wash that goes to -60, I don’t think it will get that cold in the UK but at least I won’t keep getting frozen up in my lovely but old enough that it classifies for vintage car insurance car.
2. We ended up also popping into the town centre just on the spur of the moment, and did the charity shops while they didn’t turn up anything it was nice to chat and be out.
3. I’ve got the weeks shop for half of the normal price with some careful shopping from Lidl.
4. I’ve got an interview request – yippee, just need to convince them I’m the person for them now, and I’m going to try my best.
5. Being all creative and trying to learn design packages as I am sick of trying to do things and not being able to quite suss it out, so with google and the package at my fingertips trying to just crack on with it.0 -
Evening all.
1) One of our chickens finally laid some eggs! Go Phantom! one every second day so far.
2) We also finally managed to get rid of the fleas on the dogs, omg hurry up and be frosty so they all die, this weathers a nightmare.
3) Two loads of laundry I put out blew dry, there was no heat but it was so windy!
4) The nice lady in ASDA somehow managed to not scan and therefore not charge me for the £4 jar of coffee I bought. Didn't notice until I got home, it was our proper shop so we spent a bit, but it wasn't on the receipt. Hooray for free coffee!
5) DH and I had a big cooked breakfast for lunch today - then went to nap for an hour.
Hugs and love to everyone, regardless of whether you need them. And a cup of coffee too if you like!"There is no substitute for time."
Competition wins:
2013. Three bottles of oxygen! And a family ticket to intech science centre. 2011. The Lake District Cheese Co Cow and bunny pop up play tent, cheese voucher, beach ball and cuddly toy cow and bunny and a £20 ToysRus voucher!0
