  • Hi Beetlemama, I'm not sure about the flea problem I think it gets worse before it gets better as at this time of year they all try to head inside to the warm, horrible things they do give me the creeps.

We've used frontline for the first time, the spray on perscription from the vet, and it seems to be amazingly efficent.

Congrats on the chic's laying eggs.

    1. GSD remains as loyal as ever and is refusing to leave my side
    2. I am very lucky to have my lovely yard owner looking after the ponios. Esp oldie, with her extra, err, needs :D Apparently they are both well and it doesn't sound like they are missing me at all!!
    3. I have badass pills now, so hopefully will be better soon
    4. OH arrived home last night with wine and chocolates for me
    5. My mum had an op on her hand yesterday and it seems to have been a success
    6. Apart from my prescription yesterday, I have had quite a few NSDs, this is about to change tho as I need horse feed and GSD needs to go to the vet. Ahh, well, was nice while it lasted!

Good evening! Been the most lovely day here....25o (which I can cope with!)

1.Big number 1.....getting good results from a recent medical test, was so scared phoning for results but cried tears of happiness rather than anything else! Feel a huge sense of relief :)

2.A pair of cropped trousers ideal for work 1/2 price in Salvos! Donated a bag of DD2's clothes she has outgrown & then had a mooch!

3.Beautiful day, beautiful sky, beautiful birds.....must have been 100+ cockatoos on the ground where I park my car this morning......sorry birdies that's my space!...beautiful flowers!

4.My girls have been watching the Titanic video bought for 50cents in Salvos this afternoon....has kept them quiet!

5.Realising, in the one whole year that I left Scotland ago today, how far I have come on my life journey! I am priviledged to have this experience & opportunity to be here. I was such a home body & certainly not a particularly adventurous person. However, life can be short , who knows what's round the corner? So I am making the most of my time here! Realising that I am happy here & that home is where the heart is! Profund??

6.On a slightly less emotional note......yummy baked potato with tuna & salad for tea!

    Have a great day xxx

  • 1. 2 loads of washing dry in the wind
    2. Healthy winter warm soup for lunch
    3. Started to reclaim the office/box room, I have a 2 foot pile of paperwork still to work through, I made a very slow start it, I got a bag of recycling out of it, tempted to shred the lot but better not, I will do a little each day.
    4. We got an off cut off carpet a few weeks ago, and it’s lead to clearing out the bathroom, to find the bath side has to be replaced, but it’s at an angle etc etc, cleared out all of the bathroom unit, to find various lotions to use up, and parts of 4 bottles so the same thing
    5. An evening researching for the interview tomorrow, feeling a bit nervey now so trying to control it.

    1. Happy that the sun has shone today and that I have able to harness some of the heat for the house.

    2. Got the recycling bin in just as I got home, they were emptying them. Sometimes they leave them partway in the road if we are not careful!!

    3. Got some pansies for the garden and will be planted up tomorrow.

    4. Vacuumed the house.

    5. Got my Yankee candle delivery today so I have one of those burning as I type!

Turned from a wet blowy day to a bright blowy day here.
    1. Quick chat with my sister on the phone this morning. She told me that a friend of ours, who has a rather disorganised lifestyle, has just been diagnosed with dyslexia in her mid 40s. I'm a dyslexia specialist tutor and a bit narked that I never suspected, but the symptoms are so very varied. Everything falls into place though. I am so pleased for our friend, as it explains so much. How nice for her to know that there is a reason for why she is the way she is.
    2. Thumbs up :T to the lovely student on the bus home who twice gave up his seat, once so that an elderly lady could sit down and another time so that a father and his little daughter could sit together. :A
    3. Finding a 9 pack of my favourite chocolate biscuit bar (McVities' Taxi) in the pound shop. These are like Tunnocks' Caramel Wafers ... but a lot cheaper.
    4. Finding high-waisted jeans in my size in Primark. No knicker reveals with these.
    5. Another poundshop buy .. two really lovely satin cushion covers hidden amongst a huge selection of fairly hideous ones. (Poundworld.)

And finally this... Pedigree Adoption Drive Take Ripley the dog for a fun virtual walk and play with her. By clicking on the links that appear at the bottom of the web page, you can donate money to save homeless dogs from being put to sleep. There isn't a daily limit - I've donated £3 today!
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
