Ladyhawk - So have they offered you the job yet and will you take it if they do? :D

No they haven't yet, but the signs are really good - will have to see how the phone call goes this afternoon. And like you, if I pull this off and deliver the project then the whole industry (and world) will be watching _pale_

I'm really looking forward to see the flat panic that my departure would have within our department. I know that's evil of me but following recent conversations with my boss when I have expressed my frustrations, it will be a joy to behold!

Sparrer - thanks for the vote of confidence. :) but I am not sure if I forgive you for the creepy crawlie story :p

Going to try for my 5 for today already, before tea duties and MrB arrives. :-)

    1) Boys to school happily.

    2) Popped to Tesco (Sainsburys shut for refurbishment, was lost in Tesco!) without children.

    3) Got a new cat! He's a ginger, 10 weeks old and is going from one son's knee to the other's at the moment. Very good natured and purring all the time.

    4) Phoned my brother up and he's collected 247 sacks of cider apples for the local cider company so is happy. He offered to babysit tonight, I'm still quite shocked. :-)

    5) MrB and a babysitter on the way!

    6) Looking forward to tomorrow's rugby game, got everything you could possibly need for a cooked breakfast, in the fridge. Of the 4 of us tomorrow, I'm the English/Scottish one, the only 1 of 4 not to come from Welsh stock!

    Evening all.

Frith - lucky you to have a ginger cat! My DF had one when I was a kid and he was a wonderful cat - he liked to ride around your neck like a furry, purring scarf, which made doing chores rather tricky! :rotfl: I hope you and your ginge are very happy. :)

Patchwork quilt - I'm very envious of your honey 'rent'. I adore honey and tend to buy it from a supplier at the local farmers' market - it's fantastic stuff (particularly the ivy one - it probably wouldn't be to everyone's taste, being slightly bitter, but I love it) but rather pricy. :(
CCP, Bad news seems to hit sometimes, are the doctors doing anything to help with lowering the blood pressure?

It seems as if my blood pressure is too high for me to continue taking the tablets, but not high enough for them to do anything but keep an eye on it, which I guess is a good thing. Thanks for the tip-off about the Co-op pizza - I'll go and sort that out tomorrow. :)

sparrer - I'm shuddering at your eight-legged visitor. _pale_ I'm not totally phobic of them but I'm not keen, particularly on the large ones that the mog occasionally brings me as a present. smiley-scared007.gif

OK, no more talk of you-know-whats!

ampersand - it's good to know you're still around - I hope you're feeling much better by now.

I haven't had a bad today, although it hasn't been particularly OS:

    1) Bought a nice fluffy cushion for my sofa, half price in a sale. :) I wish I hadn't bought it in my lunchbreak, though - it's a big cushion and took up a lot of room under my desk, and my colleagues all wanted to prod it to see if it was as soft as it looked. (It is. :))

    2) A lovely slice of Victoria sponge at a colleague's retirement do - I don't think it was HM but it was excellent for a commercially-made cake.

    3) Bought some bottles of wine to take advantage of a special offer (advertised in the MSE email, natch ;)), but realised when I got home that the man on the till hadn't scanned all the bottles so I didn't get the offer. :( I phoned up, and they've promised to refund the difference if I take the receipt in tomorrow. :T

    4) Lazy evening - I'm going to go and order a very naughty takeaway pizza in a minute, taking advantage of a BOGOF offer they put through my letter box. (I only order pizza when they do this offer - I get one to eat and one to freeze for another time. :))

    5) An evening off from studying - I'll probably regret it tomorrow, but I'm enjoying it at the moment. :o

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all,

I am very sleepy tonight. I woke up at 5.30am because I was so excited about the possible new job. I called them today about it and left a message so it looks like I will have to wait until Monday to hear whether they are going to offer it to me or not.

    1) Went to a client meeting today and didn't have to leave too early and got back before 5pm... including 2 hours of crawling round the M25

    2) NSD as the client provided lunch.

    3) Got a lapful of cat

    4) Chatting to my friend in Dubai on BBM. He's coming out to visit his kids next week so it would be nice to see him while he's here.

    5) Very lazy evening... I am probably going to retire to bed shortly.

    Night night

    1. Two loads of washing out on the line dried in no time :j
    2. Opened up the conservatory just before lunch to let all the free solar heat come into the house and heat it all through so I don't need any heating on tonight.

    3. Having a good chat over the field with the neighbours who are also dog walkers and got talking about Costco so I might need to check that out.

    4. Getting to the bottom of the massive bag of whole sides of filleted salmon which was whoopsied from months back.

    5. Did a tarot card reading on myself this afternoon and it all looks positive - flipping hope so!
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D
  • A lovely lay in I did set alarms but could not get into gear
Before the first tea of the day I had already hung 2 loads of washing out on the line and put another load into wash so I could get them into the sun to dry.
Properly cleaned the floors, only downstairs but still they are presentable.
Putting the stale bread out for the bird feeders and playing with the animals in the garden.
A nice easy lunch of yellow labelled chicken bits (properly re heated in the oven)
Applied for lots of jobs in the morning in the hope of a couple of phone calls.
  • Good evening all!

CCP- you sound a lot perkier today:) Enjoy your pizzas and your weekend off !

frith- lets hope that Wales win for your sake:D

Ladyhawk-I think you need another "power nap":D

    5 for today

    1. Half day at work and it is Friday!

    2. Beautiful day and washing that was put on and hung out after 12.30 ( as OH did not think to put a load on despite the overflowing laundry basket) dried in no time. I am trying a new wash cycle to see how effective it is in order to reduce the washing time by 30 mins.

    3. Fillet steak for tea. Still using the rtc batch.

    4. A new series of Have I Got New For You in a mo - they are bound to slate Dr. Fox for sure ...not keen on foxes myself ;)

5.Just eaten a flake - I swear that they have got smaller;)

Have a great weekend all x

    3. Lunch with a friend which they paid for, yummy chicken satay wrap and edame beans

Hello , not been on in a couple of days: combination of jet lag & lack of internet connection !

I've enjoyed catching up on everyone's pleasures though!
It's Saturday morning & looks gorgeous outside to be 24o but with rain later. So need to get Saturday scone & shopping out of way before we get wet! Also need to get into the way of putting sun cream on everytime we go out again!

A few pleasures from last few days:
Driving to work (at sunrise) and seeing hot air balloons in sky in front of me. Beautiful!

A flock of cockatoos on the grass (must have been 30).....not bothered by me walking past saying hello to them! There were 2 slightly smaller, different ones, which I think might have been babies, but I'll need to check on this.

Work! I do love my job!

Getting emailed photos of my baby! She is gorgeous & has changed in a week! My niece has said she just loves being a mum, which I thought was just lovely! I love being a mum too.

DD2's friend is being friendly again (had a terrible 2 weeks before hols when she stopped talking to DD2 who didn't know why and everything is over analysed....you probably have to have a girl that age to appreciate how arduous this is !!) so they have been dawdling home every day after school & visiting each other again! Hurrah!

Planning a Hallowe'en party! Always have one....apart from last year when we had just arrived here! Tried to make cupcakes in 29o heat & my butter icing was a disaster! We went to beach in th eevning & made pumpkin sand sculptures instead!

Right ....scone time! Enjoy your weekend! ( free coffee on loyalty card today!)
