Hi all
I just had to come and post here today to express my gratitude for life, it is great! Here are my blessings
1 - The amazing weather, it feels like all my weather prayers have been heard!
2 - Allotment afternoon, lots of potatoes dug up, cabbages doing well, lettuces a bit wilted but picked up after a good watering, various greens still there and edible.
3 - Very good bean harvest, both borlotti and dried runner beans
4 - DD made cabbage, potato and bean soup, all own production!
5 - The Indian lady two doors down from us sent us a whole load of delicious Indian food (had had guests and had lots of leftovers). Fantastic!
Good night all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
5 quickly - am tired!
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Helped bigger son format (?) the film he made with his friends yesterday.
3) Popped to mum and dad's. My sister was there and she took smaller son for a ride down the road in the wheelbarrow. :-)
4) Quick walk round the forest.
5) Chinese takeaway for tea (not money saving!)0 -
Good evening all. Been rather busy of late but here are mine for the last two days,
1. The beautiful sunny weather.
2. A picnic at the beach with OH and DD.
3. Fish and chips when we got home.
4. Wandering around the local car boot sale.
5. Working alongside my best friend this evening. Such good company.
Love to all. X0 -
What a glorious day!
1. Opened all the doors and windows
2. Had a long cool shower, got dressed into summer clothes
3. Had breakfast in the garden
4. Went to an excellent lunchtime meeting with like-minded friends
5. 8 of us out for a late but riotous lunch (it really is a wonder we don't get thrown out, and none of us drink!)
6. Arranged to go to Ikea on Friday with one of the friends. Never been before so it's going to be a n ew experience
7. A line of washing put out this afternoon dried in a couple of hours
8. DNeighbour came in for a cuppa and we put the world to rights
9. Phoned DM, she enjoyed my niece's wedding yesterday but made her tired so told her to go to bed early.
9. Early bed for me too, exhausted!
Night night

3. Carved up the chicken from yesterday and made it into a curry today
4. Swapped utility bills suppliers with Uswitch and saved about £100.00 they recon on my annual spend!

Good afternoon!
1) I really enjoyed tidying up my food cupboards after reading what other peoples 'hands' at food poker were(and loo roll poker!) on the it was getting tough in 2006 thread!!! I now know exactly what I've got and where to lay my hands on anything in an instant!
2) I went to get some crab apples from my friend in the village's tree, and also got a few damsons. While I was there I was eyeing up her 'rubbish' pile. Her OH left her in the summer (!!!!!!) and she's been washing that man out of her hair and her outbuildings! I've rescued some heavy duty old rusty chains for a 'Derek Jarman's Garden' feature in my garden, a perfectly serviceable metal mop bucket, and some curtain poles. I needed something small but strong to hang my door curtain behind the front door, as last winter I just couldn't find anything suitable, and everything bent! This is PERFECT and installed alreadyI texted her to say I'd raided her rubbish
and she said help yourself LOL!`
3) I have a batch of hedgerow jelly dripping at them moment. All free/foraged - only have to pay for sugar. Even the jelly bag stand and bags were given to me! Actually thinking on I was given one preserving pan, and the other came from the tip...so the universe OBVIOUSLY wants me to make jam :rotfl:
4) The weather is foul here, but the dogs don't want to go out anyway :T You should have seen the look I got when I suggested they go in the garden. (They are staffies, anyone here who has/knows a staffie will also know they don't 'do weather')
5) The books I ordered with my shop and scan points Amazon voucher came today...so I have three new books to read, and one of them is "The thrift book" so even if I only pick up one new tip from that I shall be happy.
6) Did an online shop using a Mr T voucher which will give me 1000 clubcard points - hopefully in time for Xmas. Off to get some of the bargain cheese though in person, as the offer ran out before the cheapest available delivery slot

Good evening all!
Ladyhawk-I hope you don't think that I meant that you were actually "with child" - I was thinking more of an innate feeling of nesting. Sorry if you thought that I meant it in another wayI agree that there are lots of children in the world that need and deserve to be loved .
sparrer- ooh Ikea ... I would suggest that you say to yourself before you go in.. I don't need thirty wooden picture frames, cute mirrors, plastic beakers, trendy cotton (!) king size duvet sets or a zillion trillion tea lights :rotfl:Oh sorry , thats just me!!
5 for today
1. Half day at work
2. A "back friend" had been purchased by my employers and was waiting for me when I got in at 7.35am. My colleagues said that it looked like a booster seat and that I needed a seat belt and a lollipop - cheeky s*ds:)
3.Home made tomato sauce with roasted veg and pasta for tea.
4. Found a fresh egg in the chicken house that had a bit of a crack in it but was otherwise fine so made some coconut buns which shared the oven with the roasted veg. I refuse to have just one thing in it at a time now. Buns are now history:D
5.Another lot of washing dried on the line even though it was not put out until I got home after lunch. I am making the most of it before we lose this lovely weather.
Have a good evening all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
1. Left my purse at home today and so a kind of NSD, but not really as I wrote a cheque for school photos and bought something via Paypal.....
2. Great day at work
3. Fabulous guiding camp fire this evening, lots of songs and cake
4. Took out 2 interesting books from the library
5. Donated some of DD's pretty but now way too small dresses to a charity shop, hope another little girl will love them as much as she did
6. Made some weekend plans for the end of the month, yippee!
7. Did a European Reverbe and found a Euro down the back of the sofa
8. Scrumptious cuddles with DD this morning - and I've let her sleep in my bed again tonight....so more of the same to come!
9. OH is feeling on the mend after a few hard days, the heat saps him, so I'm glad it's cooling down a bit for his sake.0 -
1) Teaching some of the girls in school to knit and succeeding with two of them. Another took the needles home to practise, which is also a result as far as I'm concerned. I taught them how to take up trousers a few weeks ago. I think we'll do felt next week. It's easy.
2) DS's gf came to tea. We had pickles and poppadums, then dahl and rice, followed by apple gloop and flapjack. Most of it was left over from the weekend and the apples came from someone at DH's work. Most importantly, there was one glass of wine each for DH and me.
3) Have half a book left to read for Book Club. It's extremely complicated so I'm glad I was cheeky enough to ask if I could borrow it from someone rather than buying - despite the fact that it's very good, I'm not going to read it again.
4) Hearing that DS and gf really enjoyed our 2010 strawberry conserve.
5) Just mended my £2.50 trousers. I bought them in a charity shop sale and all I've needed to do is put in a few stitches on the darts to make them respectable again.
Happy money saving tomorrow.0 -
Smaller son still awake and periodically bouncing about. I'm wondering whether I should take the paediatrician up on his offer of melatonin... :-(
Anyway, 5 for today.
1) House reasonably clean and tidy.
2) Made sons do their birthday thank you cards. I always do them on the computer with a little pic of them on their birthdays. Smaller son has to just sign his, bigger son actually has to write something. Checked them over and bigger son had graffiteed a little beard on all his pics! Well, they're being posted like that!
3) Had a cup of tea with another mum from school.
4) Took a flask round to school friend as her electricity was off so had a cup of tea there too!
5) Just had a nice cheese and pickled beetroot sandwich.0
