dee - here's a comfort moment of fellow feeling. You are not alone when you come here. We'll especially be here at those moments when OH is not in a state to offer you support or reassurance and yet you are needing this for yourself, apart from needing to be strong for him.
I suspect sparrer, with her med. history, may be the star advisor for you.
In the meantime - 'take care' just means you're to scoop it all in as fast as it will be piling in from all of us here.

(((Frith)))
My five for Saturday:
1. Eating a big bowl of porridge and treacle for breakfast.
2. Running in and out the house like a mad thing putting clothes on the line between showers, then bringing them in again when the rain started. Got lots of washing done and almost dried though. Lots of ironing done too.
3. Getting lots of help from the DSs with a mega house clean.
4. Discovering that a local haberdashery shop may operate a knitting pattern loan library. I'd been looking for somewhere sensible to give all my baby and children's knitting patterns and I think this might be the solution.
5. Taking lots of garden rubbish to the green recycling at the dump.
Off to be a taxi service (again) and collect DS1 from a late train...
Sleep well

PS. That's really well put Ampersand. 'Take care', Dee.0 -
Oh, Frith - in a way, this helps. You might have had the moments of wondering 'What if?...'haunting you for far too long otherwise.
So, you know now what you know you knew!
Now you really can start back up again. Hope you've had a lovely family day in Bath.
Soft hugs and well done for getting through this.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Quick-ish, must away to bed as need to be en route for Antiques Fair c. 2.30am.
1. Well, for better or worse have car heaving and trailer as high as....it's all stuffed and roped and I pray for no rain tmrw. It will be complete and utter Hell if the wind and wet get up again, not to say no trade to recoup outlay: stand, petrol. I know I've packed/chosen wrongly, not sorted old boxes because weather hasn't allowed this and haven't sorted out the 2 Lindsey Gutteridge ptgs which would prob, go well there...never mind, never mind.
On verra.
2. Charity showroom day - we're seeing progress on rationalising and sorting for closedown/tfr. It's a ginormous task[former car showroom.] And the Drs I thought of for the stunning curtains taken in on Wednesday did indeed buy them today. They are a cracking couple.
3. Trying not to feel events are ooc for next few days - so much to do after Fair - cooking etc.-to prepare on Monday for special Thankyou day on Tuesday and immediate departure for France that night. Somehow I'll prob, get there. Amidst all this dominant thought train, found phone on car roof, before complete time-/energy-wasting panic set in.
4. A smile, from reading a point understood in someone's post - my pleasure, ykwya.
5. 3 sudden instances of love, achievement and personal happiness for 3 people who are blooming because of it. L. and I both commented on this today and find it beautiful - our peeps do not have easy lives, so this is very special.
Goodnight all - hope my phone alarm goes off at 2....and that I hear it!CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

2. A free cardmaking demo.

4. A home made 'ready meal' of chille con carne when we came home.
5. Met a lot of friends tonight at a Bible study evening and supper was free.

Ampersand - you're not really getting up at 2, are you?!
Thanks for the messages everyone (as always) :-)
Here are 5 or so for me for today (Saturday).
1) Toilet unblocked itself. As strange pleasure but it was blocked for about an hour while I wondered how on earth one unblocks a toilet (never happened in the 12 years I have lived here!)
2) Went to Bath with mum and dad plus sons. Very strange to sit in the back of the car being driven by Dad with Mum handing out the wine gums. I don't think they've driven me anywhere at all since I left home at 18. Also strange on the journey home. In the old days, I always had a sister one side of me and a brother on the other - they're both much younger than me. They would be fighting across me or sleeping. But today, I had a son either side and only one asleep!
3) Enjoyed looking round the baths at Bath. Surprised by how warm the water was.
4) Found almost a complete slow worm skin at mum and dad's.
5) MrN left all my stuff in the porch. A sad day but so pleased to have my potato peeler back. Its the only one I have ever had which peels really well. And his wife walked past and said "hello" cheerfully so obviously bears me no grudge that her husband has been seeing me for nearly a year. Can't believe I have been put in a position where I have to report such things but hey ho.
6) Walked to the pub with sons.
7) Back home, they both helped with the housework in a mad dash and smaller son said he enjoyed helping and will do it more often (!)
8) In bed now, wondering what to listen to on iplayer. Smaller son fell asleep in my bed so I'm just looking at him wondering how his hair has gone from very blonde to dark brown over a couple of years - and how I didn't notice how grubby he was before he went to bed!0 -
Thank you ampersand, but I can only tell how it is for me. Hope all goes well for you tomorrow
Dee I do empathise, know how scary it is when you're first told news like this. I was diagnosed copd 4 years ago and made up my mind then that it has to live with me, not me with it. I've been very, very lucky, unlike many who give in to any chronic illness and spend a lot of time visiting/staying in hospitals, I've only had two stays and a couple of A&E visits. All I can suggest is do exactly as they tell you, take all your meds faithfully, push to get on any and every pulmonary rehab course you can. It really does help to help yourself. I wish you all the very best, I think you'll manage it well as you've already made up your mind to be positive about it
1. Woke to a beautifully sunny morning, had breakfast with the garden door open and listening to the birds singing.
2. Postie brought me a moisturiser sample, I've been sent several of this make before and they last about a week each
3. Got a line of washing dry before the showers started
4. Cleared out the book case, toy trunk and cd rack - the latter promptly collapsed when it was emptied but think I've managed to repair it with superglue and string tied round til the glue dries. Now have an empty shelf, so space for more cd's
5. Freecycled some old video's & cd's, already had some replies - but will wait til tomorrow to be fair to everyone
Sweet dreams

Oh Dee - i am thinking of you
Frith, I am not sure I believe no.7 - either that or there was something in those wine gums! :rotfl:
Mine for today
1. Nice relaxing train journey where niether wifi nor dongle worked, so i sat and read a magazine.
2. Walking by the sea and stopping to watch a ginormous boat be escorted in - i love the sea and currently live about as far away from it as you can in this country.
3. Dad being quite perky
4. Lovely curry from the takeaway - not cheap but it has become mine and dad's ritual when i visit
5. Being in bed with my dongle and able to catch up here.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
(((DEE))) Others have said it far more eloquently than I, but we all have you in our special thoughts xx
((Frith)) You are so much better off without MrN'S emotional bullying and he and his horrible wife are welcome to each other....but becareful; it's pretty certain that whatever problems they had first/second/whatever time round will soon rear their ugly heads as leopards don't change their spots, so watch out for him trying to slither his way back into your affections. He has proven himself to be a nasty, selfish piece of work and hope he pays up the £125 sharpish!
Yesterday's goodies
1. The painkillers (or the treatment from the physio) are fabulous; I had a mild ache but nothing serious since starting them
2. I'm currently being visited by a fabulous friend who I've not seen for far too long; good girly chats and I'm probably boring the pants off her talking about OH, lol.
3. We went down to Brighton and found me a gorgeous outfit for a party I'm going to next Saturday. It is so beautiful I decided to wear it out last night as well. I will probably wear the thing to death! The best thing was it was rather expensive, but I had vouchers for 2/3 of the cost, so not too bad. I hadn't been around real shops for ages, they are so much more expensive than my usual supermarket fashions!! Scary how much even a boring tshirt is. Good incentive for me to lose weight and get back into my clothes in a smaller size (currently stored under my bed) to what I currently cover myself with....
4. Lovely texts from OH:)
5. Attempted a teensy bit of alcohol at home and didn't feel right so stopped after a couple of sips, so had a far cheaper night on the diet cokes and still had a good time(not as good as it would have been had I been totally tipsy)
6. Did a Reverbe and found 5p0 -
Thank you all for your kind thoughts.
Rainy Day; Will do all that you suggested Thank you so much.
Ampersand; Thank you for your kind words.
Sparrer; Will do everything that I can to help with this and I will stay postive Thank you.
1; The sun is shining this morning.
2; Enjoying the beautiful roses my niece bought me yesterday.
3; Phone calls from my two other sisters who dont bother with me, my other sister rang them said they would like to meet up next week.
( they dont agree about how my OH and I are living to pay off our debt ie; not going out, making homemade presents.)
4; The smell of freshly cooked HM bread
5; Starting to clean out chest of drawers in spare bedroom and found £3.16 already.
Sending postive thoughs to everyone.
