PS don't forget you have SEVEN days only where you can legally force littlewoods to cancel the brick you've ordered

On the plus side if its just sims 3 you're after running i don't think that'll be too demanding

    i agree with dell

had a quick search and for £20 less you can get a computer about 3 times better.

this model has a triple core processor, extremly quick, dedicated graphics, full hdd screen and sizeable hdd

this model is a little less full whack as it was, dual core processor but still very respectable and still blows the littlewoods model out of the water for £100 less

oh pluss both of those come with windows 7 64 bit

just go on, go down the right, check the box next to windows 7 and have a browse, plenty of stuff on there all better than that acer.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

Problem is that the OP cannot get credit to buy a new or nearly new system.
Since we've established that Sims 3 (and all his other needs) will run fine on a Pentium 4 with XP installed, it should be possible to get a base unit for well under £100, at worst it will need a RAM upgrade to 1GB, maybe another £30? I'm presuming the OP can put that much down ?
My suggestion is to try a local PC shop, they probably have systems like this all the time coming in as people upgrade?

Thats a good idea, I never thought of going to a local PC shop to see if that happened. I have 2GB Ram on mine at the moment (which is the only part I have installed myself) And I have one practically opposite my house :) £130 I can manage :)

Still waiting on Littlewoods, I received an email to say they had received the form but can take up to 24 hours to confirm.

ETA It's times like this I could kill DH for not being bothered about his money!!!

tbh with windows 7 over vista I'd already chalk that one up as 'vastly superior' on that basis alone :)

I am tempted to see wether Dell would allow me credit lol but if the smaller, not so well known companies will knock me back, who's guessing Dell would too.

I can't do much on my PC which is what bugs me about it, if I want to do anything, and at a reasonable speed I normally borrow DH's laptop as everything is much quicker, problem is he takes it with him when he's on tour, the desktop doesn't quite fit in his bag hehehe :)

My PAD is going towards the computer but as you can tell from siggy, I'm only paying 1p a day and only started it about a month ago, I now have 42p :) Getting there hehehe

Thank you everyone for all your help and advice, definitely taken it on board and will chase Littlewoods to cancel the brick :) *Fingers crossed I find a little something hidden away or maybe a very small win on lotto or scratchies*
