Well as the OP has indicated they are slightly hard up we're giving options:
1- get CDs posted from cornwall, reinstall OS and try to get current PC working as its not far off min spec and might be ok (Effort: quite high // Cost: minimal // Value for money: Excellent)
2- get the PC working as above and perform a selective upgrade to get PC working with this game/last another year or so (Effort: quite high still // Cost: <£40 hopefully if self installed (easy), uneconomical otherwise // Value for money: moderate)
3-get a refurbished base unit as per macman's suggesation (Effort: low but will be pot luck as to what she finds // Cost: <£120 // Value for money: variable depending on deal).
EDIT: or ebay something local to sunderland? I remember when I had an old desktop they were so cheap on there it wasn't worth selling.....
4- get a new PC from dell etc (Effort: low with advice from here // cost £400-£650 // Value for money: good)
5- get a new PC from Littlewoods (Effort: low with a long wait // Cost £700+ // Value for money: horrendous)

your the 2nd person to advise them
tried to buy a pc from them but failed the credit score as usual
Will have a look around the house, see if the cds are still in any of the unpacked boxes, failing that will ring Mum and see if she knows where it might be, I left all my computer boxes together so hoping she put them all in one place.
Will also look at the building myself idea, that way can buy bits and bobs when I get paid instead of going into my overdraft

i wouldnt post no operating system through standard delivery postal service just incase it goes missing, if you did would have to be next day recorded costing money economical, no woud cost OP.
re-installing an operating system on a failing hardrive would kill it during installation as its demanding on the hardrive whilst windows is installing so is there any point if OP TRIED and it did fail OP will be left with no comp working. if hard disk didnt fail and OP did get the game on advice of this forum and the installation of game did go through OP will be waiting in on load times and playing on minimal graphics if op upgraded them and putting the hardrive through the grinder. and the game will crash endlessly with a low processor, because of bottleknecking between processor and graphics card processes plus the background programs running the game will not be visual desireable as it should and performance will be non existant. thus a new build in order to play the game as it should be seen visually and performance wise.0 -

Before you go any further - it's best not to continually apply for credit as it only worsens your 'credit score' if they see lots of applications in a short time.
Ebuyer do finance though, and never had a problem with their customer service or deliveries (or warranties).
Though if you're trying to pay off debt, it would be better to have a play with your existing system to see what extra performance you can get out of it before spending any more money. There's no real harm in attempting it as such if the alternative is to spend a wad of cash. Worst case scenario you would have wasted a few hours, best case scenario you would have saved a few hundred quid.matched betting: £879.63

this system is value for money, all you have to spend a bit more on is optional graphics card nvidia work well with intel. http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/Components/Graphics-Nvidia/Nvidia8000Series/Novatech/8400GS512PCI-E.html
with that graphics card itls run sims 3 easy for less than £30.
all you have to do is plug in graphics card or contact them to put it in it for you. and you got a good pc for less than £200 the barbones dont come with hardrive so you may want to buy a new one if you wanted to or plug in the existing one in that pc you have.0 -
but the decision is yours ultimately take your time source out your options if you really cant afford one dont bust a gut trying to get crdit like above post says if your refused a few time in a short period it does harm credit even further look through ad trader and the like you may get a good pc second hand with just as good specs for under £100 that someone no longer needs due to upgrade. think does it have to be new. and can you use parts from one to add to another to build a better pc? at low cost to you!!!!!0
