Thank you so much everyone for all your excellent help and advice :)

I decided in the end to build my own, I ordered the barebones (£130) an optical drive, hard drive & graphics card for £225. I have worked out that I will be able to afford the OS in December, but will see how well DH does tip wise when he comes home tonight and I might be able to get it sooner :)

    Thank you sooo much again.

I have one little question about OS's though, when it says 32 bit & 64 bit, does it matter which one I purchase? Or can any system run either?

    A 64bit system can run a 32bit OS but a 32bit system can't run a 64bit OS.

I do hope Littlewoods confirmed your cancellation OK before you ordered the barebones. Otherwise you're going to have an expensive week!

I rang them yesterday to confirm the cancellation, they hadn't received anything so I asked them to cancel it and my balance is back to how it was on my account again :)

the only thing I've ever done myself is Ram, so this is going to be a good learning curve for me :) Maybe next time I'll do the whole thing myself instead of leaving the 'tricky' bits to the shops hehe :) I'm getting rather excited, I haven't had a purchase solely for me in a Very long time!!!! (Although DH will be able to use it every now and then, if he can get me off it :D hehe)
