I found it so much easier to diet when i was at uni as I only cooked for myself. My sister often cooks for me now and I alwys eat the same portions as OH oops.

My Mum just e-mailed me for details about my friends sister , the type of cancer etc. Hope I got it right as am not totally certain, I did say that I wasn't totally sure. My Mum works at the school I went to and the headteacher wants to write a letter to the family which is nice.

Oooh yeah I love that Thai green curry, mmmm. But you're right about the price, I usually sneak it into my Mum's basket so she pays for it! Hehe.

I think I'll have to look into the ready meal option, it's just the price that puts me off, I'll have to keep an eye out for special deals!

That's really thoughtful of the Head Teacher Wendz, how's your friend coping? I really don't know what I'd do with myself if I lost my Sister, I can't imagine how she must be feeling

Dinah - Reading over your Wedding Budget and I'm sure you'll come under! A lot of things can be haggled with so that might cut prices a lot, have you seen the Don't Tell the Bride where the Groom haggled for everything? He got invites from £100 to £30, and flowers from £800ish to £350 and he didn't even have charm or wit on his side so I'd just be cheeky when you go to order things. It might work!

Do you have a freezer shop Birdie? WW meals are almost always in my local one for £1 each. Or they're currently on offer till 31st Dec in Asda for £3 for 2.

I think she is OK , haven't really spoke to her as don't want to get her all upset. I am going to try and find out about the funeral soon though. It is a horrible thought that that could be your sister. I know everyone always says this but she really was the most lovely girl, and so beautiful as well.

I saw that don't tell the bride, I missed the end though. Did the girl like the venue, as was a bit random.

Was that episode of DTTB the one with the South African guy? I did not like him at all, but he got some really good deals! I didn't like the girl's 'dream dress' either, it was an explosion of fluff, ick!

Ha ha, you guys are so funny with all your chat! Can I just say again, how young are all of you (and yet so mature)! Is there anyone on here remotely near my age (34)?

Off to check out your budget though Dinah, see if I can help. So far I have reduced costs on mine (except the exceptionally pricy venue which is just spiralling :rolleyes:).

Oh, and I am resigning from weighing in (although not from trying to lose weight) as the scales here are simply lying! Apparently I've now only lost 2 kilos since I arrived but the trousers I had a little muffin top in now fall off when I walk!

ETA: oh sheeeeet, your evening food budget is more than my whole day's food budget and your drinks are more than double too - how many people are you having? My brother did laugh down the phone when I told him how much I'd allocated for food... Back to read more...
