Cinny - I got my ciao money too, too this long last time too. Apparently they sort it out at the end of the month so you always get it around this time the month after you withdraw it.

Hope everyone is well, its cold here! OH and i were going to go shopping for some lst minute bits today as we are both off work, but not sure if we will yet as its quite icy out.

Well done on getting some of the hat boxes CMD! I'm still certain my brother has got me it, although I keep on mentioning 'Oh, and it's gone on sale today ... *prod prod*' but he's keeping stum. I don't really need it anyways I suppose!

Won £10 on BB today. Yay! :T I think I have tickets on games up to 10ish though so I might win a tad more?

Oh, I hope you get it for Xmas Cinny. They look fab.

Well I reckon I deserve one. I stayed up til 1am and the site wouldn't work. Then got up at 6am to order 2 of them. Will give one to my sis on her hen weekend. The products should keep her going for a while!

    Hey everyone

CMD you totally did the right thing! You must feel great to have paid off those beasts now, reckon when you're on maternity you could also do loads of mystery shops, dooyoos, and bingo to make back those savings. And I am sure you'll get Christmas money with a little one on the way too. How exciting!

Flower take good care of yourself ((((((big hug))))))

Cinny hope you get your S&G hatbox! I am going to try and do the free Lush gift sets on boxing day (wys £20). I never ever get smellies for Christmas - don't know if that means people think I am too clean to need them, or that I wouldn't bother using them :rotfl:

It's been harsh trying to get through this week, as I seemed to run out of all juice on Tuesday. We had our office party which was quite scandalous (even though there only are 4 of us, lol) but all of us were so hungover on Wednesday.

Today I so thankful for a study day, although a long to do list aswell. I have had an amazing lie in too. My oh is working late every night until at least 9 and then also all weekend, so I am feeling a bit lonely. We're going to his parents this year and I am missing my family like mad already. It's hard when we all live far apart. I feel about as Christmassy as a stone!

Wendz, it's so great for your OH today. I love it that we have been following his story since his application. You're going to be so proud today - yay all best wishes for his future career!

    Have a good day x

Thanks Lara - I feel so much better today and am looking forward to the challenge of putting some of my loan on a 0% credit card in the New Year :)

I understand you must be missing your family but it is great to swap around with the Christmas celebrations. I prefer going to my house as well but I think it is important for a couple to even it out. I see so many families where the OH is always spending Xmas at the wifes/girlfriends parents. I think it is pretty unfair. Bet your OH's parents make a fuss of you!

Wendz - good luck to your OH in the passing out ceremony today. You must be very proud

    *whispers* Where is everyone?

I have my last day of school head on, I don't wanna work!

CMD - Your comment makes me feel really guilty, my OH is spending year no2 coming to my house at Christmas :o But then I did offer to go to his but it means a lot of driving he doesnt want to do.

Don't feel guilty Cinny. If your OH prefers to go to yours then that is different. I am only talking about a situation whereby the OH doesn't get a choice! Your OH made his choice and it is to be with your family, which says a lot for how welcoming they must be :)

Hello! Another busy day here, thanks to the snow everyone seems to be in a tizzy so I'm running around trying to reassure people that our drivers can actually drive in snow but it's the idiots crawling along at 5mph hitting their brakes every 2 seconds who are holiding them up!

I'm at OH's for Christmas and I'm still trying to figure the logistics of seeing my family on Christmas morning! My brother and his GF are at her house this year so my parents are alone for dinner (we're going on Sunday for a 2nd Christmas dinner). I want to see them in the morning but OH says we 'have' to be at his parents for 10.30, 11 at a push because his brother will be waiting. Boo-frickin-hoo, I'm sure he could hold on until 12! His other brother is one of those poor sods who doesn't get a choice and is at his girlfriend's again this year. I said that we'd go to my parents for 9-9.30ish and leave at 11-11.30 but OH isn't happy because we have to go too early and leave too late! My parents live 30 minutes away so basically OH wants to leave as soon as we arrive! I don't know what to do! If we go in the afternoon/evening I won't be able to drink as I'll have to drive back, if I suggest staying over OH will have a sulk because he doesn't like being stuck at my parents and he just wants to slob out on the sofa at home. I think our friends who have been together for 3 years and still spend Christmas day apart at their own parent's houses have the right idea!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

If thats what you want why not spend it apart?

This was NIMs year to go to his family, but he decided he'd rather spend it here, which I was obviously chuffed with. Really looking forward to next year when its all over, people can come to us, or not, their choice!

Snow was terrible this morning, didn't get to work until 10.30am, impressive considering I was ready to leave at 7.15! Theres 5 inches up where I am, and they haven't gritted any of the country roads, so its very slow going, and mostly sideways going.

  • Myself and OH spent last Xmas apart and did so when we were first going out too. If it makes everyone happier I don't see a problem with it :)

The reason we spent last Xmas apart was because I told him to go to his own house cos it was brothers 1st Xmas on his own, since his wife left him 2 months after they got married. I thought he would want the company.
