Our Beagle is 5 in January and is also a lemon & white. They are such loving, affectionate dogs aren't they? I had no idea until we got Max quite how funny they are :rotfl: I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who doesn't like walking or stubborness in a dog though

From a very early age we were invited to help stir things and then weighing things until with her help we were helping prep meals with her. On a Sunday she would let my sister and I invite a couple of friends round and we would all have fun baking things with her in the kitchen, and then eating the end results for Sunday tea. She never minded how much mess we made as she made sure we helped clean up too.
This is what I do with DDs now. They also have their friends round on a weekend and cook/bake ect. DD1 loves cake baking days, whilst DD2 loves getting her hands stuck in meat dishes.
I do think it's good for the children to get in the kitchen and learn how to prepare foods / cook / bake, so that when they do leave home, they wont have to rely on take-out.
HE has been taking up a fair bit of my morning so far. We've been making Spanish flags for a quiz on a Spanish day next week [how quickly that's arrived!] and DDs have been helping with a game based on the bullfighting - I just need a plastic bull now! [Going to have a look in our ELC in town].
Tomorrow, they're off to a synangogue, to see what life is like for Jewish children, so I have been downloading some stuff in preperation.
Back to today and we're going to see Fantastic Mr Fox at the cinema this afternoon. I'm going to have to take my TENs, as my back isn't too great right now and I don't want to aggravate it by sitting for too long, but at least they're now old enough that I can leave if it gets too much.
We're going to attempt tp make gazpacho for next week, so I need to get the ingredients today, as well as something for dinner. I've a feeling it will be something quick, so have ribs in mind, but I will see what tempts me when we get to town.
Hope everyone has a good day, whatever you're doing.
Hugs to all who need them.

Afternoon all.
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Bargainbird.
Molly sorry to hear that the meeting was so stressful. Take care of yourself.
Snoozer  hope your DH is ok. What a horrible thing to happen. Not much to report from my end although my noisy neighbours reached new levels last night  I have to say though, it was actually so loud (I think there was more than one couple in there ), I think they were desperate for a reaction from someone, like petulant children.DianaMattos wrote: »Feeling so much better today, antibiotics are wonderful. Thank you Mr Flemming for all your hard work in that respect. Of course, now I must take it easy not to do everything when I have loads of energy cos the crash will be harder! When Hubby left yesterday for his conference, he did say 'now, when you feel better this afternoon when the anti-b's have started to do their thing, DON'T DO TOO MUCH!' Hmm, me thinks he knows me!Tomorrow, they're off to a synangogue, to see what life is like for Jewish children, so I have been downloading some stuff in preperation.
Wet underfoot today, so Molly Dog had soggy paws after her walk, but it's dry other than that, so my infamous hand-washing has been done and put outside.
My voice is now returning, with its tail tucked between its legs (and hand-in-hand with a hacking cough) but I'm afraid there's no sign of Woofles' kippers.:D
OK, time to get off me bum, and go and put the BM on, or there'll be no rolls for Mr LW's lunch tomorrow, and I'll be in the doghouse.;)
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Can see me checking in at each break! Having a lunch break now - nice HM vegetable soup, so hearty and warming. I have started portioning it into just the right amounts for my work thermos so I can have it for lunch 2 or 3 times next week. Yum!
I've had a short Flylady style blitz on the utility room and that is looking a bit better. Still needs a lot doing though.
Have done a bit of ironing too. And made a start on the pay calculations.
This afternoon I need to do some decluttering in the kitchen to get it into a cleanable state, and I'll be racking my orange wine later too so I can have a little sample to see how it's coming along.
LameWolf sounds like you've had what my DD has had. She had a raging sore throat Friday, and has had no voice since Saturday and has a good chesty cough going on too. She's hardly ever ill, and she's seriously unimpressed!0 -
Hi All,
Loved the bit about the kippers yesterday! I do love a kipper but my flat is just too small and last time I made them the smell went right through and I had to change the bed and everything! Yuck.
Having a nice day today. Off work so will go into town soon to get some food in to feed my lovley bro and his boyf on Thursday. They come to me once a fortnight or so to catch up. They're much better at cooking than me but their flat is minging so I don't go in!!!! Think I will do sausage casserole in the SC. They eat massive portions so that's a good cheap one to do.
Had a good tidy up this morning and sorted out the boxes in my hall where I fling all my paperwork/etc.
Dinner will be pasta with HM sauce.
Right off to get my slap on and go into town. Enjoy your day all and hugs all round. I don't know how some of you do it but you're an inspiration. XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0
