Three more days have gone by since I updated, I'm getting bad at this.
Saturday was tournament day which meant that we had to be up and at 'em nice and early. Got to the venue at just after 8am, sadly left it early after being eliminated in the group stages. Just as well really as got home, had a brief lunch then on down to my football club for their second home pre-season friendly against Bristol City. Won 1-0 and finally got home just after 7pm before chilling for the rest of the night.
Sunday was meant to be a relaxing day but the weather was so nice, we decided to go geocaching again. Found seven out of eight before lunch then after dinner, popped out for another three out of five meaning we now have a total of 26 caches. Good walk for the morning ones too, must have been 2.5 miles at least.
Did something daft and radical in the evening, collected an electric organ from Gumtree. No idea why, they don't come around very often and I've always fancied one so we'll see how I get on with it. Kids are excited enough anyway....
Today was an early start and was down at the football club by 9.30am. Bought lunch (£3.30) then settled down to a day in front of a screen again. Got home at 7pm tonight and just chugging through some paperwork now.0 -
Tuesday was a day of two halves really. Worked on the paperwork mountain in the morning and at 5pm, collected boys to go to the pre-season friendly v Cardiff City last night.
Got home around 11.30pm, all off to bed straight away then up to return them home after cereal and a bacon roll for breakfast.
Off to London to stay tonight for a Football League meeting tomorrow morning returning home late tomorrow evening. Not the biggest fan of staying away at night but will lump it - it's a freebie on the club anyway.0 -
Got back from London an hour ago after the meeting today.
Went with my manager but next time, I'm definitely doing it on my own. Had to drive for an hour to meet him not really any closer to London then took three hours to get to the capital. He then got lost and separated from me between the tube and the venue this morning before tipping three quarters of a cuppa coffee over my trousers and white polo shirt at the meeting.
Sorry but , and a few more :mad::mad::mad:
Didn't help to see my colleague from Bristol City who got there before me having left home at 8am this morning and also got back before me tonight.
Spends (all refundable through expenses) were £12 on a meal last night, £8.50 on breakfast this morning and £7.30 on a tube ticket. Also put in £15 of diesel yesterday afternoon.
Tomorrow? As you ask, it's DX in the morning followed by the weekly shop, a hair cut and some website work before the kids come around at noon. Football training on Saturday morning, a pre season friendly in the afternoon and geo caching on Sunday.0 -
DX run this morning then went shopping in Asda which was a whopping £51 as I bought loads of fresh fruit and vegetables and bottled water ahead of another stab at my healthy eating plan.
Had a haircut (£10) and then collected boys from a football skills course at a local school. Tonight we went to Bath Races, a serious lapse considering I'm struggling for money at the moment and ended up around £27 out of pocket (£12 entry and £15 in bets).
Tomorrow is football training, the final pre-season friendly in the afternoon then we'll do some geo-caching on Sunday sometime.0 -
Tired.com tonight. Football training this morning then home for shower and lunch before trekking down the club for the last pre-season friendly.
Home tonight, wasted more money on a McDonalds (£10.66) and now off to bed.0 -
Had a bit of a mare this morning to be honest.
Went out geocaching this morning with my twin sons (ten years old). If you're not sure what geocaching is, best google it for an accurate description but basically, somebody leaves a small container with a log in it. They log the co-ordinates on a website and other people have to find it using GPS, update the log and either place something else in it or move on.
Anyway we were walking through this field trying to get the second of eight caches on our plan. My Blackberry doesn't have GPS and I don't have a receiver either so just make notes in a book and find the caches from there.
Oldest twin found a cache under a horse trough and we logged it and moved on. Then went to the next one but no luck. As we were returning back up the hill, two women walking four dogs came down. The first woman stopped and stared at me intently, eye contact but a little too "starey". She then said "I saw what you were doing. Boys (addressing them), if he's been touching you, you must tell an adult right away."
I was gobsmacked, couldn't get my words out even. This woman was accusing me of sexually abusing the boys alongside me. I tried explaining and showing her the book I had with all the careful, detailed plans I had laid out but she didn't want to know at all. She continued "You were looking all around back there really suspiciously"; well, the whole point of finding a cache is that no-one sees you find it, especially non-cachers who could then take the cache ruining it for everyone else.
I followed her round the field protesting my innocence but she just kept saying that if the kids had nothing to tell, they wouldn't say anything and if they did, then they would tell an adult. I just couldn't believe that a grown woman in her fifties thought that this was the correct way of doing things. The other woman said nothing through the exchanges which was weird enough but all she kept saying was "Rubbish - I don't believe you" and "You're a weirdo!".
She had arrived at the field at the same time I had so I knew which car was hers when I returned to my car. I left a message on her car windscreen (not sure why but made me feel better) explaining that I was leaving my number so that she could ring up and apologise for her outburst and also say sorry to the kids who were upset at her comments.
I just don't get some people. Not sure if I can do anything or not but I feel so frustrated that she can get away with something like this.
Other than that, an okay day. Boys were quite tired this morning anyway and that's before the walk in the country. DS3 didn't wake up till 9am which is two hours later than normal.
Took them back at 5pm and explained to their mum what had happened so that she didn't get the wrong idea. Rest of evening will be spent just chilling out ahead of (another) busy week.0 -

Hi BB....:o
Yes, I got her car registration number written down. I was all for ringing up the police but I'm not sure whether they would actually do anything about it. I've posted on another internet forum and some of the suggestions as to what I should do makes me think that I've let her get off lightly. I'll get a good night's sleep and see how I feel in the morning.0 -
