A great Saturday was followed by a great Sunday with two more wins. Firstly the Sunday team won 7-4 in the League Cup after at one stage being 4-2 down. A good win and a place in the second round awaits...

Then at the quiz last night, we missed out on the prizes but won the raffle at the end. The prizes are in ten envelopes and range from £200 cash to a mystery tin (a plain tin, no label, that might contain anything). Second prize last night was £140 and there were meal vouchers, drinks vouchers and more. Anyway the woman drew our number out first, we picked envelope no.3 and won...... a cuddly toy!! Dammit, could have done with the cash to be honest....:(

Today is a quiet day with paperwork and housework top of the agenda.

Been a quieter couple of days really. Monday saw me finally knuckle down and try to sort out my paperwork which to a large extent I have.

I also did a budget for the next ten days which was an eye-opener. The team are playing in Yorkshire this weekend and if I was getting paid before then, I'd have almost certainly gone to the game regardless. With fuel, food, tickets etc, little change of £100 I reckon although I would get most of that back through the expenses system in a few weeks. The budget shows me that even if I get paid on Friday, I mustn't go as I'm only going to just about break even anyway as I have car tax, car insurance, Virgin bill, O2 bill, rent, maintenance and team subs to go out. Back in March, I booked a Sun £9.50 holiday for me and the boys and the balance of that is late already (although I called Haven last week and they're fine with me paying on Monday 20th).

So, budgets do work because otherwise I'd have gone up on Saturday blissfully ignorant to the fact that I couldn't afford it.
    :T

Other than the paperwork, completed part 2 of the FA coaching badge last night (Safeguarding Children) and part 3 (First Aid) is tonight. Final three parts are in December then I'll be fully qualified!! :D

Picking the boys up from school at 3.15pm but their mum is taking them to football training tonight as I'm doing the badge course. Tomorrow I'm down at the club where hopefully they'll cough up the outstanding £89 expenses so I can have some breathing space.
  • First Aid course tonight so I'm now halfway through becoming a fully qualified football coach, albeit at Level One.

This morning delivered one round of papers and did a brief shopping trip (about a tenner) before picking the boys up from school. Only had them for two hours then bundled them off to football training.

Tomorrow means another trip to the football club, two interviews at least before hurtling back to Bristol in time to sign on some more players for my Saturday team!
  • Been a pretty good day today, expenses paid up so that's another £90 for this week's major expenditure (see yesterday). Still not going to Yorkshire though it is tempting.

Went to the club today (£12 petrol, £2 lunch, £5.50 shopping) and handled the press conference as per usual. Got a few articles written tonight, still have one more to do over the weekend ahead of Wednesday's deadline.

Tomorrow will be a busy day. Interviewing comedian and singer Richard Digance tomorrow morning at ten, two paper rounds and the weekly shop to do before picking the boys up and taking them to football training at 6pm.

Naughty me, haven't updated for three days now so this may be a long post...;)

Friday - paper rounds, an interview with Richard Digance in the morning (nice guy, talked for an hour), shopping and cashed a cheque all before lunchtime. Shopping was £30 ish. Picked the boys up from school at 3pm, fed them, took them to football training where I had brought a new lad with the intention of joining my Saturday team. He fitted in well so that was a bonus.

Saturday - had already decided not to go to football as it was in Yorkshire so would have cost a fortune even though I'd have got 75% of it back. I took the boys for a round of golf at the local pitch and putt instead and the guy there let us all round for a tenner as the greens had been treated...:T. Back home in the afternoon where I did the match report from the radio then in the evening, we just chilled out a little.

Sunday - the boys had a league game in the morning and won 6-5 which gets their season off and running a bit. Had lunch then chilled in the afternoon as they were a little tired. Last night, went to the pub quiz but came home empty-handed.

Today? I have a list of jobs as long as your arm to do so have decided to make a BB list. (thanks BB for allowing me to use your initials...;)). The plan for today is..
    • Three or four loads of washing
    • Empty the kitchen bin
    • Tax car
    • Re-insure car
    • Pay Deerswood subs
    • Settle up holiday balance
    • Pay maintenance
    • Get hair cut
    • Take all old papers and leaflets to recycling facility
    • Write an article for football club website
    • Update boys' teams website
    • Do some other housekeeping on the club website
    • Hoover round house
    • Sort out and organise football kit for next week's game
    • Pay mobile phone bill
There, that should do it for now. See you when I've finished (round about three weeks from now).

Not too bad really, would have liked to have done more but actually got some other stuff done that wasn't on the list like fixing the washing line, sorting out Saturday's football team, two more articles on the website, paying the rent, doing some shopping (£11 in Sainsbury's), buying new shinpads for the twins (£10 in Sports Direct) and tidying up the hallway.

Tomorrow I'm coaching the kids at the boys school from 3.15pm to 4.15pm and I must, repeat, must have a haircut tomorrow plus have to tax the car. Other than that, the days pretty quiet really.

That's it pretty much all done now. Just the subs to pay tomorrow and I managed again to get some other jobs done today.

Finally got my haircut after ten weeks, I hate having long hair. I used a new hairdresser (£8) rather than my usual one in the city (£12 plus £2 parking) thus saving me £6. Spent £5 on shopping and also got in a coaching session at the local school.

Tomorrow is papers day (two rounds) plus football training in the evening.

Goodness, been a while since I updated this blog... hope nobody missed me!

    *shouts out "Anyone out there?....*

Been very busy these last few days. Weekends are unrecognisable now I have a second (or third if you include the one I work for) team to administer. Last Saturday, for example, I managed my own team on Saturday morning (lost 0-1) then home for lunch then off to the team I support/work for (lost 1-3) and didn't get back home till 8pm. Then on Sunday the team the twins play for played as well (won 4-3) so a mixed weekend.

I've managed to eke out a bit more money from the football club and have taken on a new role as well, that of supporter liaison officer. It will bring in an extra £200 a month plus they've also agreed to cough up for some of the articles I write to the tune of £50 a programme which will help immensely. Normally there's either one or two programmes a month which will mean an extra £100 most months. Good news is that December and February are three game months (£150) and April has four home games (£200).

Other than that I've just been really busy. Trying to see what I'll look like with one of those small, neat George Michael beards right now but not sure because although it starts off dark, pretty soon the grey starts growing through.

Not only here but definitely reading, hope you are OK, looks like every week-end will be manic! Good news on getting some money for the things you clearly love doing.

Well the only real news is that the George Michael beard has gone for good....:D

The supporters liaison officer role starts on Monday and all the finances have been confirmed and organised so hopefully this might hasten the end of my worries regarding money.

Other than that, it has been a quiet week really. Will get back into the habit of updating my daily spends on Monday, just keep forgetting by the night time what I've spent...:(
