I don't do trick or treat, I think it's crazy to tell children not to take money or sweets from strangers and then once a yeear send them out to get what they can from anyone.0

I accompany my children on Halloween night to call on people we know and would never send them to strangers hosues for any reason.0 -
I'm always trying to keep an eye on my weight so I never keep sweets in the house if I can help it. One year, kids got some pink and white wafers which weren't appreciated! I don't like trick or treating anyway, it's glorified begging and shouldn't be encouraged so I don't answer the door. Halloween? Bah humbug!0

when i was younger and where im from (the isle of man) we have Hop Tu Naa- we used to sing a song, then and only then did we get rewarded for our efforts with some coins-or occasionally some sweets. So we have a bag of sweets- just the funsize treat things and some coppers handy too. It was always a turnip carved out (much more work goes into a turnip) and we always dressed up.My 5 year old loves Halloween- she actually insisted on having a turnip this year! Im just about to get up in the attic and get the Halloween decorations outNow im debt free i want to be fat free too!0

I`m more than happy to give some little fun size bars/ sweets for the little ones who dress up and have their parents accompany them. It does annoy me when groups of teenage lads put on a cheap mask and expect money to but cigs, drink etc. It puts me off answering the door!

DH has a box of stale (out of date anyway) crisps he wants to give out:o:rolleyes:
thats just tight, the poor kids will eat them maybe be ill? i dont know but theyll be all excited youve given them something then upset when they realise they are stale not fair on the kids

if your going to be mean to kids just dont answer the doorWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
