I've bought wrapped mini Toblerones and wrapped Cadburys minis from Lidl. I've got a scary skeleton plate that I'll put 'em on and plastic flies and spiders to put on top.

If any teenagers come they'll get sweets - or coppers! (1p's and 2p's not the Police! :D)

I've brought cheap toffees from Asda and sweets and lollies from the 99p store. I've divided them up in to 50 bags and I give a bag per kid, once they're gone they're gone  I don't give out money 'cos I think it's wrong.
I have some small bouncy balls left over from DD2's party bags so I might give them out as well to get rid of them.

has anyone ever said trick to a trick or treater? they are supposed to show u a trick, i think the concept has been lost sadly.

Not true - they're not supposed to show you a trick, they're supposed to play a trick on you!

Not that it's likely any of them will have any form of contingency plan in place for anyone who does this though - they probably wouldn't even understand what you meant if you did!

OTOH, may get the odd group of kids carrying/returning with a bunch of eggs for your windows...

Well, we've had our first 8 little children! So I'm guessing it will all be over fairly early tonight :D

Nothing. I don't like trick or treaters.
  • I have just had a ghoulish group of teenagers knock at the door - the girls had obviously spent a long time getting ready, the lads had painted themselves white and looked slightly awkward and embarrased - got the feeling they had been talked into it! Bless 'em!

I am eating half the jelly sharks here though- they can't be very good for ya - my teeth feel a bit sore now!

My OH has gone to town (I wanted to hide). He's got 2 pumpkins sat at the front door and a tray of bags he's made up with an apple, nuts and sweets in them. The special kids (daughter's closer friends) also get a chocolate apple.

He must be having a mid life crisis or something....normally he's more Victor Meldrew than Vic himself.

I have wine. I will get through this. :D

You won't get away with that - I tried it a few years ago - they can detect the flickering of the telly through the windows! My house got egged and floured that way. :(
