Hi everyone....not been around much the last couple of weeks so hope everyone is ok
Had a busy day today, painted the kids bedroom walls and skirting, daughter did the door for meWe have got family coming to visit next week so trying to make the house look presentable, so lots of painting to do....the down side of having a grubby toddler!
Also cleaned out and tidied our barn, stood on a drawing pin...ouchy, that'll teach me to go out there with no shoes on!
Daughters xmas present arrived (new bike), so have had to stash that out there with stuff stood in front of it so she doesn't see it!.
Dinner today is nice and easy, left over chicken salad0 -
Just checking in on you all whilst the kids dinner cooks
jc - that's not gloating that just good news :T
2cats1kid - Welcome :j I do love it when new people join. OS appears to have a reputation of being a clique which I think is a shame as everyone who posts is soooooooo nice. Trust me before I started (and I don't think I even did the courtesy of introducing myself first) I hadn't a clue who anyone was. It's only because it's now part of my morning routine that I keep going with it. Anyway enough rambling just wanted to say hello :rotfl:
snoozer - sorry to hear about your OH - hope his black eye clears up soon.
Sunnygirl - welcome back. People have been asking after you so you've been missed
Molly - sorry your meeting was stressful x
Right still no idea what's for teaShould be somerset casserole but not very organised and it's in the freezer still
I think I'll ask H what he wants when he gets in. I've got lots of courgettes to use so I think perhaps and onion and courgette omlette for me.......
Have a nice evening. Flash Forward on tonight so at last something decent to watch (sorry I don't so X Factor or SCD)

Don't you worry bargainbird, he didn't get one! And the silly man left his tools in his van, despite knowing I was top floor (4th) then moaned about having to go back for them! He didn't manage to fully fix it but has closed it so there is no draught now
I busied myself whilst he was here by making a big spanish omlette/tortilla to take for lunch this week with a salad. I also made dinner with yesterdays leftovers - bubble&squeak with tofu, veg and yorkshire pud on the side - yum!
I now plan to veg on sofa watching last few episodes of NCIS on dvd then Flashforward on 5.

Ever had one of those days where you think, omg this is it then, the slippery downward slope to total doolally land.
I've lost me kippers. They were with me in the co-op but don't appear to have come home with me.
I've looked every where, the usual and not so usual places, you know what its like when you're on autopilot and can't remember if you did something or not. I have been known to put the milk in the cupboard and the sugar bowl in the fridge.:o
Thinking about it I don't remember putting them in my bag, trouble is I didn't wait for my receipt, I often don't, naughty I know but it was only a few items, only came to £5 something. I can only think that when the assistant lifted the bag of spuds out of the basket the offending kippers bailed out over the side. She'd get a nasty shock if she stood on them.
They were only 98p boil in the bag ones but make a nice kedgeree.Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw
apologises for spelling mistakes - google toolbar and I have had a hissy fit and I've lost me spell checker.0 -

I just had to pop on to say how nice my tea was. I have a blog, so when I get a spare few minutes I'll post the photo I took of it with the recipe I used - mmm, bargainbird, it was really amazing. DH loved it too (hearing that praise about my food always makes me smile!) mmm, chorizo, leftover roast chicken, smoky bacon, veg, paprika and chilli with a bit of stock, and rice. *drools*
flutterby - I'm also looking forward to FlashforwardI love that programme. It'll be Gadget Show before that though
Oddly, I was looking at some yellow-stickered kippers today. Nearly bought them too.I was really good today. I bought yellow-stickered bananas which were still a bit green, yellow-stickered bread, a small bottle of fruit juice and some sweeties (the value ones, honest!). I spent a grand total of £1.92, and am insanely pleased with myself.
(((hugs))) to those who need one and I hope everyone has a good evening.

Evening all
Thanks for asking Redruby, but still no news, so a few more stressful days ahead.
I dragged both of my sofa's away from the walls today & cleaned under & behind them. I also did loads of washing for DS & did poached egg on toast for him when he came to collect it.
Hubby will need collecting about 10ish & will then have ham, egg & chips for tea. I'll go to bed then as I'm expecting DD & the DGK's round tomorrow.
Have a good evening.
Hugs Hester

Sorry you mislaid your kippers Woofles.
Where is your blog Kitchenbunny if you don't mind be asking? :A
Gentle thoughts to snoozer's OH and Molly. x

How is Pixel getting on Cranky.xxxx
Back to the grindstone today. Girls were back at school but it was nice to get the routine back.
Spent some time doing paperwork today, a little bit of knitting and a little bit of gardening. Tea was freezer surprise casserole.
OH bought some yellow stickered clotted cream which we didn't finish so I've made rice pud tonight which the girls will take for lunchtime pud tommorrow. Have just made the rest of the packed lunches and just need to swish the kitchen and lay the table for brekkie then off to bed.
Sleep well everyone and thanks for still making this a lovely thread to be even when there is sniping going on elsewhere on the boards. xxx0
