Well I'm not gonna bother posting list cos ive ended up doing everything but todays list or it seems it lol. Have ended up doing bathroom, lounge, dining room and kitchen today. Just because my bedroom didnt need it! All I really need to do is wash bedding and might do that tommorow.

But Daisy, my dear, remember what you've done and cross it off the list when that room comes round this week - it doesn't actually have to be done on the day, as long as it's done during the week, it's awarded as appropriate
Hello please can i come back and join in??

Of course you can come back - remember - baby steps just start off at level one...

Hugs to all those who are down and tired. It's that time of year I think.

Greenbee - re the flights - have you tried the "airport futures" game? My bro was quite successful at it a few years ago (thought things might have changed now). You book one flight, then see what offers are available the day before you due to fly and then transfer over, often saving quite a lot of pounds and including an upgrade to BC...

Had a discussion with DD tonight about which room is she actually in. She says she's "too busy" to move totally to her new room (DS's old room) until at least 17th November. I offered to move her stuff for her and she said no, she doesn't want me nosing around it. I said I wouldn't nose, but would just move but she still wouldn't go along with that idea. We ended up having a hug. But I'm feeling frustrated because I have two rooms in the place that are in a state of flux and I want them sorted NOW! I'll maybe tackle her next week when she's not so pre-menstrual!

"You'll seldom experience regret for anything that you've done. It is what you haven't done that will torment you. The message, therefore, is clear. Do it! Develop an appreciation for the present moment. Seize every second of your life and savor it. Value your present moments. Using them up in any self-defeating ways means you've lost them forever."
I have borrowed that for ny FB profile:T:T

Greenbee - if you need extra legroom seats, DON'T say that it's for a medical reason as people with medical issues are usually not allowed to sit there as they can't open the doors in an emergency - they sometimes assume medical condition = infirm, which we know doesn't apply to you but airlines can be funny beggars - good luck with the boss idiot tomorrow.
Thanks for letting me know... what's a good reason to give? (actually, I'm assuming that work can just cough up and book it - ironically it's not legroom that would be really useful, but seatbacks that don't curve in at the top, just below my shoulders!) My physio says I need a better seating position and room to move about... so maybe I can try running laps of the plane :D

We're supposed to book 2 weeks in advance in order to get the best price, so [STRIKE]I'm [/STRIKE]my boss is already in trouble for leaving it so late! It's not my money at the end of the day, but any hints as to how to get an upgrade on a saturday afternoon flight to new york would be great!

Don't sit down then!!! And make an appointment to discuss this with your GP again...

Breakfast & lunch packed for work tomorrow, DW on, kitchen looking reasonably tidy. Just need to pack my gym bag, and if I get it done quickly I could have a bath... or call my parents as I've been ignoring them since saturday...

OK... calm down  relax... breathe...

Can you work out what your 'quick wins' are - which small things can you do to make a big difference?

    Think about:

    1. the room your parents will be staying in
    2. the rooms they will be spending most time in while they're with you (kitchen/living room maybe)
    3. bathrooms

Then if necessary box up the clutter and hide it under your bed, and give these rooms a S&S. Scrub the loos (people notice...).

From your list it looks as if you have done most things, but don't try to do any more decorating - just make sure the things you have done look clean and tidy (and make clear that anything that is less than perfect is being dealt with - if necessary leave the dust sheets & paint piled neatly but obviously in the corner).

Do you have before and after pics for us? If so, a few minutes spent posting them for us might help you see how much progress you've made, and some positive comments might make you feel better about how it looks.

Have you packed up the stuff to go to the tip yet? Get it out of the way first thing... once it's gone, you'll feel better.

DD2 is still very pleased with her room and we (read OH) is taking the top bunk off in the girls room so DD3 will have a '4 poster bed' The panic to get DD2's room done was mainly that her top bunk was broken but they cannot be separated into 2 single beds so the ladder, bed base and broken side are coming off until I can afford a new set or a single for DD3. at least it will be safe. Tiddles is having DD2's old mattress as hers is all lumpy and bumpy and she has needed a new one for ages and complains about hers constantly.

Oh's sister is coming at the weekend so the front room WILL be being rescued from the depths of despair.. it looks like a shed in there at the moment.. it is most unpleasant!

Oh.. girls room.. that's what I was saying.. anyway, remove top bunk etc... the room has been tidied by DD3 so there is actually floor in there now!!! I have promised them they can have their room decorated next IF!!!! They can keep it tidy long enough to let me get it done, but it does look like a lot of the stuff was DD2's and is now transferred tidily to her new room.. it has made a massive difference not having her junk in there. I am hoping to have some money sooner or later and I should be getting it backdated to October 1st so I should be able to pay the bills up to date and finish the christmas shopping and get DD2 a new chest of drawers and a desk so she can have her clothes and PC in her room.

DD3 asked if she can have a computer once her room is tidied.. santa has that covered as I said before so getting it decorated in there before christmas would be a massive bonus.. it will cost a fortune for a new carpet for in there though as it is a huge room.

Today I have done nothing productive...

    2x WM
    1x TD
    1 load laundry hung up
    1 load folded

    and I cooked dinner..

I will now track down some text books and maybe make a small start on the biochemistry report... it is only 2000 word and I am certain I can waffle that much in no time at all... :p
