Guess whose condenser dryer just blew itself up?!!!!

Thankfully my vented dryer is still working superbly!! I LOOOOOAAAAAATHE condenser dryers!

My aunt has the 'best' form of bowel cancer possible apparently.. it responds really well to radiotherapy so they are hopeful that in about 6 months time she'll be back to normal.. :D She goes in to start treatment at some point in the next 7 days but the oncologist is very hopeful all will be fixed without having to remove the bowel or do a colostomy.. which is pretty wonderful.. had it been higher up they would have done.

Right.. rats to bed and them I have half a wheelie bin to fill...

  • pigpen that sounds like better news than it could have been...

mudders i def would echo the thing about halties. They don'e hurt the dog, but just reduce the force with which they can pull you around.

Forgot to say, I'm in this week, and thanks to pigpen, toots and soappie.
and soappie, you don't mean it, you wouldn't hurt a hair of BB's fur!

I would love the answer too, I have managed to break 2 of the things within minutes:o

ETA: it is always Fellowes ones we get at work, and they seem ok there, maybe cos they are industrial?

Try a goat - shredded and composted in one easy go! :p

Domestic shredders are all pretty useless. You need something pretty tough to cope with continous shredding - I think they expect you to do each item as and when it arrives rather than a mass paperwork blitz. I put mine in the confidential waste at work if there's a lot - and once I have a woodstove (assuming they ever get back to me) I plan to use some of it as firelighters!

Skipped the gym/pilates as I'm feeling like hibernating due to the dark! I know it's not the solution, but I had a very dull day at work (you can probably tell by the fact that I was posting :o) and just didn't feel like it. Still, hopefully I'll feel like either going for a walk or going into the gym tomorrow morning - I've got reflexology in the evening. Came home to the delicious smell of chicken stock that's been on the go for about 10 hours, so I'm now leaving it to cool and it should be ready to decant in the morning.

Dehumidifier is still going strong - a third full again  so hopefully I'll notice the difference soon. I certainly don't need the heating on, and it does create a draught and circulate the air!

Off to arrange some supper, and close the curtains.
  • Cleaning front - It doesn't sound much but I've shampooed most of the LR carpet, just two spots to do, but there hot spots!!!! So this evening I shall have a good go at the ironing - and remove some of the problem. Also cleaned patio windows (3). Will continue to plod on, am determined to sort out LR before DD2 gets home tomorrow, and by focusing on cleaning the disgusting carpet am also clearing loads and loads of rubbish. Really would like to re decorate before xmas, but will have to see if the finances will allow.
Next major job for the lounge is to steam clean walls and wash yukky paint work. (probable do that next week when all are back at school.)
The problem with common sense is its not very common:rotfl:

    Evening all!

Not done as well as I would have liked! Level 1 done, it's tough to Fly with DS, DD and DH are home

Mudbath - You've probably tried this but when we were training our Lab and he was pulling I would just stop dead in my tracks! He would eventually take a couple of steps back then I'd carry on walking, stopping again as soon as he pulled! He hated stopping cos he was so desperate to get there he eventually got the hang of it!

Unfortunately Daz's garden is not big enough for a goat:p
    :think::think::think: I do believe he has a woodburner though:j
Maybe I should take all my paperwork to his:rotfl:

  • Hi Ladies.
Can I pick your brains for ideas..we're having a fundraising meal thingy at work & I need to make something veggie that goes with curry dishes and chinese dishes which is what others are cooking (and isn't too heavy as apparently we've got Baileys Cheesecake for pud!! Nom nom!!). Also can't be too difficult as I'm not a very good cook, and is something I can cook at home and either reheat at the house we're having the meal thing at, or will be ok cold! not asking much am I??!:D..

Feel free to pm me rather than clog up the thread..
    Thanks in advance everyone!

Oh flying..I've decluttered a load of peri-peri hot crisps..!!
