I've got no chance of keeping up with the thread today, so I'll plod on with my list and read the odd page here and there. The weather has improved much sooner than I hoped, so washing is going out as soon as I'm wearing more than a nightie.

I think I'm going to be brave. The rain has stopped and the cloud base has lifted. I shall chance it and put some washing on the line

And as to Pigpen. Bah Humbug! I might just put her on ignore until the beginning of December

But how would you know what flying you needed to do?:confused:

Lots of progress made in the study. It's very dusty :o. I've also cleared all the out of date stuff off all my notice boards.

My problems seem to be that a. I don't have enough bookshelves (this has been a problem ever since I got rid of the one in the hall and replaced it with a chest of drawers, which is great for bags/gloves/scarves/gym kit, but I'm short of 4 shelves for books!) b. there are some things that simply don't fit into the filing system and c. I hate dealing with receipts, so they tend to breed :o

Storage in here is much better since I put up the last two shelves and got a chest of drawers (which is mostly full of presents!), but I think I need more bookshelf space elsewhere in the house, if I can just work out where (and the loo has no more room in it... one wall is already lined with books!). I did wonder, seeing as I'm being made to spend time in the office, whether I should transport anything vaguely work related (e.g. my IT law books) to my desk there to clutter that up instead!

greenbee i durstn't dare to ask for help with the mundane and practical, but maybe I should?!
why not? If you can get the mundane and practical sorted, then you will have more time/energy to devote to making a difference with bigger things.
I had a dream last night that I was pregnant with twins, that would make 4 children,aarrrggghhhh.:eek::eek:
I've already told you I'm not taking them off your hands if you change your mind

Why do you need to get dressed to hand the washing out? In depth research suggests that most flyladies do this in their nightwear - far more efficient use of time...

Off to find some lunch & sit with my feet up for a bit :D ... doctors orders and all that...

Not getting dressed - just adding a couple of layers for protection from the wind, i.e. tracky bottoms and a fleece jacket! ;)

1 lot of vanilla sugar made (how taxing! NOT!!!) for mum for X**s and will make another lot for me later on. I'm running out of jars now with lots of jars of chutney in the cupboard maturing and I'm waiting for the ones I ordered from ebay to arrive. Caved in to the bottles from Lakeland too yesterday but got free delivery to soften the cost a bit! Might just have enough if I crack on and make some honeyed fig vinegar to empty another couple of bottles.

Bookcases - mine are in the LR and our bedroom - the kids have their own, but DS1's is bursting at the seems already, and it's not small. A good friend had lots of bookcases dotted along her upstairs landing, which was rather long and had lots of nooks and crannys to fill. Do you have a cupboard under your stairs?

The things that don't fit into the filing system - is it because of their size/shape, or do they just not fit the categories? You could get a nice box. I've got one for leaflets about places to go.

I know what you mean about work related things, but I find that as soon as I have taken something to work, I need it at home. Maybe give it another week or so until you can be sure what you need and where?

Not sure any of this helps, but I had a bit of time while eating lunch...

Dried up again so I've put some washing back out, just left underwear etc upstairs to finish off indoors.

Last Sunday the hanger in my pegbag broke when a gust of wind smashed it against the shed. After puzzling all week how to mend it I finally gave in and made a hole in each side, pulled out the broken hanger, put in a new (wooden) one and sewed up the holes. I can only think it was sewn up with the hanger in place! Should do me for a bit longer, the rest of it is fine.

I've had another look at this, and while it would be nice to get all L1 done for a change, it would have much more impact if all clean clothes were tidied away. Having clean floors doesn't save time when it comes to getting dressed, after all. Going to amend my list now and then dive in. Expecting to surface in about an hour... :o

    L1 in all rooms – here’s what’s left:
Wednesday ~ Kitchen of Grot and Dining Room of Gloom
    Level One
    Declutter and mop/vacuum the floors
    Find and wipe the worksurfaces
    – done (hob wiped and no dirty dishes left)
    Thursday ~ Childrens pits (x2)
    Level One
    Declutter and vacuum the floor

    Friday ~ Bathroom
    Level One
    Declutter, sweep and mop floor
