    Ironing, here I come.................
  • Morning All :hello:

Hiya Toots - it's lovely to have you back babes!!

I've just been straining out the seeds from the pumpkins. Bloomin heck, there's loads :D I'm going to roast them... but does anyone know if I can stick em in the oven from damp, or do they need to be dry first??

Welcome to all the newbies, jump on in, the water's fine. :D

Well, today we're catching up with chores, before going to my Dad's for lunch...

So far we've had a crack at the kitchen. And a general sweep through. DD1's going to clean the BR, and I'm going to clean the LR while DH goes to Lidl.

DD2's been taken bowling by by her little mate and family. :)

I've decided to make Levi Roots' "Ital red bean soup" with the pumpkin flesh. So I'm off to do that now.

In my HHC, and a bit late, I...

stripped two beds and made one, collected empties and dirty towels from bathroom, replaced the bath mat, picked up some rubbish off the floor, then lost the rest of it to people ringing up.

Have ordered fabric for sitting room curtains, and done two loads of washing. DH detailed to hoover upstairs and tackle the floordrobe which is mainly his.

eta how did you get on, tooch?

sarahshattered i roasted mine last year in delicious seasoning, but they came out sadly chewy. Don't know what i did wrong.

greenbee - well done for supporting the farmers! I must try our local farm shop...if I get my bike sorted I could cycle there! I am doing cycle training next week at work so I'll need to get out there! ETA: see you've changed your mind! sensible I think really.
I'm not feeling too guilty, as generally I shop locally and at independents - village shop/farm shop/farmers' market/health food shop. I would have liked to get some fruit juice, but can't really justify driving into town just to stock up when the house needs sorting and my brakes are due for replacement (they work, they just get VERY hot!) I think DH has a touch of the BD too, he was going on last night (when I was desperate for sleep!) about how much he hates his job etc. Problem is he just doesn't enjoy working and I'm not sure he really ever will, sadly it's a necessary evil as I pointed out!
So you don't think that if he found the right job he'd enjoy it? If not, it's a pity, but in that case he needs to find one that gives him the right balance and allows him the lifestyle he wants. Some jobs are 9-5 (although I've yet to find one )

    Just ONE tree?

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Slow progress here... one load of washing in. Two others sorted. Mess from last night's pedicure cleared up, so I'm now painting my toenails and pottering (I've done some drying up, which I hate nearly as much as Valli does ;)), in the hope that if I potter enough it'll get sorted.

Lots of emails are going back and forth about work and workload and how to make team meetings more productive. I'm a bit nervous about voicing my opinion as I'm new and my boss already thinks I'm a trouble maker with all the Occ Health stuff, but surely this makes sense:

If team meetings aren't productive, we need a proper agenda, agreed & circulated in advance, with timed items. Things that need more time should have people allocated to resolve them and be taken off-line into diffferent forums. Minutes & actions should be issued after each meeting and people required to provide progress updates each week. Agenda items should be submitted 2 days before. And if metrics are causing problems with workload, then I'll take a wild guess that we're measuring the wrong things... (or doing the wrong things :p)... I suspect that this might put a few backs up though...

In my HHC I've S&S bathroom, tidied and hoovered LR and made a start in the kitchen. Just checking my list, then I'll carry on straight away with another HHC in the kitchen (incl laundry).
