Great thread! It's old though - is anyone actually reading it?

    YEP ME....I'm a forum newbie:)

I enjoy the theatre too and have seen:

Grease - about 13 years ago, the lead of Danny was meant to be Luke Goss (last seen in Hellboy II) but he was ill so was understudied. Musical was OK, but has been mentioned on her, a bit amateurish.

Footloose - went with my friend ClarkeEJ for my birthday a few years ago at the Wales Millennium Centre and enjoyed, good atmosphere.

Flashdance - Also seen at the WMC. I thought this show was really great, wonderful dance numbers, the story relationship between Alex the welder and Hannah is different to the film, but I felt this worked better and i preferred the stage story to that of the film.

Dirty Dancing - in the West End a year ago. One of my fave films, this musical was very true to the movie, great sets and dancing, it was like seeing the movie live. My only disappointment was some of the acting....not good :thumb down: But would definitely see again with better actors lol!!

I hope to see We Will Rock You and Mama Mia at the WMC next year, tho I hope the latter stage show is better than the movie, which I was disappointed with.

I know I saw the posters on the tube :(
If it comes near Ill try and get tickets without his parents though hhe

LOVED the lion king - want to see that again
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together
  • Wicked is my favourite so far, just brilliant - great songs and imaginative story as well as great special effects. Wasn't too bothered by Sweet Charity and The Lion King was ok on a wet Sunday afternoon but probably more of a kids' show.

Well here is my favourite list of musicals I've seen on West end, from best to worst

Spamalot - bloody hilarious! I think it's on tour still.
We Will Rock You - loudest musical you'll ever see - Saw both of the top 2 twice
Starlight Express - watched it when I was 11, wish it would come back!
    Wicked - brilliant.
Legally Blonde - Really good, saw it in the previews.
Avenue Q - outdated when I saw it a few years ago
Phantom of the Opera - dont watch it on the balcony it ruined my enjoyment of it

  • I loved Blood Brothers and Mamma Mia :-)
Not sure if it's ever been in the West End, but saw Rock of Ages on Broadway and found it loud, but brilliant! I hear it's currently in the process of being made into a film. Hope to see it again on the stage, though!
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!
