It's all about personal choice but here's my opinion:
Loved - We will rock you, Hairspray
Good - Shout, La cage aux folles, Joseph, Avenue Q, 39 steps, sound of music
Ok - Billy Elliott (had high expectations), Blok Busta, Zorro, Spyski
Hated - Blood brothers (too depressing for me!)
Would love to see Lion King and Wicked0 -
I have enjoyed all the theatre shows I've watched:
The Lion King
Blood Brothers
Avenue Q
The Phantom of the Opera
Love Never Dies
Love Never Dies is a sequel of The Phantom of the Opera which came out last month and I thought it was amazing! The songs are so memorable~0 -
Enjoyed We Will Rock You.
Thriller was OK though the biggest man I 've seen in a long time arrived just as the show started and yes - his seat was right in front of mine. I left with a cricked neck from trying to peer around him.
Lord of the Dance seemed to go on forever - my husband commented that there's a limited number of ways you can swing a leg - but the rest of the audience seemed to like it. The cast seemed to drag out the encores.
Just seen Dreamboats and Petticoats - currently on tour - and loved it. A real feel good show with super musicians, singers and dancers + it ended well - no drawn out encores.
Looking forward to seeing Jersey Boys.0 -
I took my grandaughter, who's 7, to see The Lion King in February. we were lucky to have been treated to the tickets - and stayed with family- as we live in Cornwall. The show was amazing and I would thoroughly reccommend it! :j0

Went to see We Will Rock You last weekend with OH + 2 kids - three of us loved it, OH cringed everytime anyone started to sing (being a die-hard Queen fan and being there under duress anyway!) - but all round good rocking entertainment!!£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

My personal favourite by a mile is Les Miserables, both touring and West End performances are fantastic and I firmly believe that it's the best musical around.
Currently not showing in the West End, Chess and Miss Saigon were amazing too, particularly Chess. If you get a chance to see a touring performance of either of these they're well worth it.
Blood Brothers and Wicked are both brilliant shows, Mel C in Blood Brothers really shows her talent. She's very very good in the role of Mrs Johnston.
We Will Rock You is fantastic if you like Queen. The spectacle of it is stunning but the story is absolutely appalling. I've seen it and enjoyed it but I wouldn't see it again. The quality of the singing really was up there though, it was just brought down a little by wasting time on the poor story. Stop talking and get more songs in0 -
Phantom of the opera was ace would love to see ita gain0

Hi all,
We love the theatre and regularly nip to The Lowry in Manchester but am having to cut them out at the moment.
However, we are going to Wimbledon in June (booked before my lightbulb moment) and we are lucky enough to be being put up by friends - saving us the cost of a hotel.
However, as payment in kind for staying with them we usually treat them to a trip to the theatre - not sure what to book this time....
39 Steps (dunno the synopsis - OH would probably enjoy - change from musical)
Love Never Dies (not heard many reviews)
Woman In Black (heard 2 good reviews - change from musical)
Billy Elliott (not sure I really fancy it - but the film was ok)
Blood Brothers (just one bad review on here putting me off)
Jersey Boys - heard a lot of good reviews but not sure
Priscilla??
Definitely don't fancy Mama Mia (didn't rate the film at all)
Ones I enjoyed (surprisingly)
We Will Rock You
Les Miserables
Mousetrap
Dirty Dancing
Others I enjoyed - not surprisingly
Phantom
Miss Saigon
Oliver
Others which were ok
Sister Act
Sound Of Music
I LOVE the theatre - bring on my debt free date then I can afford to visit more often:)Debt at LBM:idea: - 12 April 2010 B/C [STRIKE]6471.74 [/STRIKE]APR 19.9% M & S 4849.74 APR 18.9% Sant Zero 2487.89 APR 18.58%

Dont be put off Blood Brothers by one bad review on here, its a brilliant show and I have seen it three times now. Its a very good musical for people who dont do musicals
Hence me taking OH last time and he managed to sit through it without asking "how much longer?" as he normally does.
Also for young people, STOMP is a great show.0
