but his profit is not one he earned ethcically
Your response to my comment above many, many months ago:
That made me chuckle.
I gather he quoted a price, you accepted and paid, and now you've found out what you could have got it for if you'd bargained a bit harder, and now you feel you've been robbed.......
Bonkers.
What is your problem with a consumer who takes issue over being "robbed"! Many of your comments indicate what you deem to be acceptable and what I and the judge don't.
As I said before, when I am through the next stage I will come back and post again and for you especially as you are as condescending now as you were many moths ago before I took the builder to court and won.
It is not nice to "chuckle" at anyone Alan M - it can be interpreted as sheer arrogance!0 -
And Alan M the FSA is limited to financial services. You do make me "chuckle"!

Still waiting for a bit of fact.
Care to post any?
I am very interested in the court case for obvious reasons, your reluctance to post any factual information is not helping your cause here.
So I'll ask nicely.
Can you please post some some factual substance of the court case you allegedly won?0 -
We are talking about one very clear situation here, which is an important situation.
A judge has determined the OP has won on four counts of something against her builder.
We need to know what four counts the OP took their builder to court on.
We need to know what the charges were, what the summary and outcomes were for each charge.
Once we are armed with that information no one needs to think, summise, guess or otherwise make any assumptions about what is wrong or what is right.
Why is this so difficult to get across?
Can we have some hard facts please?
But you are clearly concerned that the OP is suggesting she's won a case against a builder who has operated within the usual confines of the trading practices of kitchen fitters. I am saying (based on what she has already stated in previous posts) that that isn't the case at all.
She has won her case against a builder who has clearly misrepresentated his practices and forged documents to this effect. There's nothing unusual in her winning such a case, so why are you particularly interested in the verdict?0 -
This thread makes me laugh. If I buy goods from Halfords (any branch) with my trade card they give me a two itemised receipts. One for the goods showing the price I actually paid and another showing the full retail price.
Not a lot different what Howdens seem to have done with this kitchen. Personally, with the facts as presented, I can't see what they and/or the fitter are supposed to have done wrong. :huh:0 -

Howdens haven't done anything wrong (at least in my eyes and legally!) it's the fitter who has lied and forged documents, hence the case against them.0 -

Don't confuse concern with interest.
Can we have some details of the charges and summary?
Is that too much to ask?
I'm actually more interested in the charges than the verdict.
For hitchhiker fans......
The answer to life the universe and everything = 42 what's the question.....
Are we getting the idea yet?0 -

Who forged paperwork and where did you come to this conclusion?0 -

Yup, kind of why I'd like to know what was presented in court.0 -

Which of these receipts do you provide to your customer or do you bother to give them an actual receipt?
Glad you are laughing and you now have Alan M joining in with his "chuckle" again.
milliebear00001 where have your drawn your conclusions from.
I claimed I didnt get my kitchen at "trade price", yep that was it and Gloomendoom that little receipt thing you have going, beware!!!0 -

I don't actually do anything with the 'customer' receipt but, in my experience, it is standard motor trade practice to mark up supplied parts. I suspect it is the same in many other trades.0
