As the title says "how do I get petrol out of my Rover 45" it is about to go as scrappage and still has a quarter of a tank of petrol in it.

Is it worth risking sucking up dirt etc from the bottom of the tank and ending up with it in your (new) car for the sake of a few ££'s?

stick a tube in and suck, hard. But seriously, how confident a mechanic are you? If you aren't then I wouldn't bother as about the only practical ways are to remove the fuel tank or unplug the fuel hose and override the fuel pump relay and put the other end in a container :)
