That would defo be worth watching Marshallka.

Wonder what "Which's" stance would be on this now.
Don't know but it seems from looking at the other site that Cartel are saying its all bull and cause of jeaulousy, only time will tell. They are saying they are above board etc.

As regards Which's statement they have said about reading through things haven't they??? The small print.

It looks like I am not getting a reply from Peter and will have to go ahead and try and do this myself. A very scary thought but worth a go I guess.

Pammy post the details up here and am sure you will get enough help to be able to enable you to do this for yourselves. Just let us know when you went through Petermb and did he ask for a sar and what date it was.

lets hope so, no he didn't say anything about any fees, i'm hoping that all this will be in the letter but when we have our meeting i will certainly challenge having to repay the audit fee using the advise and comments from this site and see what he has to say. hopefully things are now moving forward and i won't be posting up something different in 6 months saying i still haven't heard anything, although nothing would surprise me anymore.

Hi Lesley, hope you come back to read this

Just seen this on the Legal Complaints Org and it says this
    When to contact us

    • If your solicitor doesn't reply to your complaint within a reasonable time (normally 28 days).
    • If you're not satisfied with your solicitor's reply to your complaint.
Call our helpline – 0845 608 6565, email or write to us.
When contacting us please include all relevant documents. It would help us to process your complaint if you supplied copies (keeping originals for your records). Do not use pins or staples to secure the papers.
We have time limits for dealing with complaints. You should contact us
    • within six months of the end of the work the solicitor did for you, or
    • within six months of finding out there was a problem

Just be careful that you are not going to be out of time for making a complaint if you wait for the 6 months since first knowing of the complaint.

I wonder how this would be viewed when a solicitor has not contacted you every 28 days BUT you have not complained. WOuld the complaints procedure mean that your 6 months "should" begin when they first begin breaking their contract and you should have been reasonably aware!!!

If the above reportings are correct about 80,000 claims submitted to solicitors then I wonder whether all the rest have been settled OR if they are likely to be. Makes you wonder how they could go bust!!!

Did you send him £10 to request all the information from the lender as they usually do. If you did then your paperwork is most likely to be still with him unless he passed it over to a solicitor. Perhaps if you get in touch at his firm it would be better to see where your case is at.
