:rotfl: My hunt for the perfect cheese slicer has become a bit of a joke too ... I found a slightly inferior version in a shop in Coventry not too long ago. But I don't understand why I can buy replacement wires for my original one, but not one like it!As for the cheese slicer..the 'they sell everything' was a joke!!
BTW, I'd only go to IKEA for something specific which I thought I'd only be able to get there. I always get lost in it. :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Well, I do have one now but it's not as good as the one I was given from Denmark. Which doesn't have any identifying marks.
The kind I like is shaped like a knife, only the 'blade' has a round core with two wires stretched along its length, one closer to the 'core' than the other. So you can have fat slices or thin slices.
It will cut wider lumps of cheese than the one which has a triangular face with a blade a bit like a potato peeler. And it works better than the one with an adjustable wire at right angles to the handle.
You either know what I'm talking about, or you don't ...
BTW, before I got the one from Denmark, I had one from Betterware. But it broke, and you can't replace the wires on that one, which is like the one I got recently from Coventry. In theory you can replace the wires on the Danish one. Which is what makes it so frustrating - you can buy the replacement wires, but not the cheese cutter they fit!Signature removed for peace of mind0
