ok was posting and some replys have appeared since so here goes!! i wanted to point out i have not put this for a slanging match between us, it was based on my friend and me wondering if it is me, your text just set me off that's all!

I can ALWAYS ring you but like you said not available between 8-6pm..the amount of times i have rung you and been greeted with a dull tone of 'yeeeah' doesn't really encourage me!! i rung you last week remember through masterchef and got told off! when saying i would call you back as didnt realise you said no then carried on telling me it was the only prog you wanted to watch and you had missed it...that's why i dont tend to call anymore!! i have had free calls for over a year now too so you know i will ring you back..being online has been a no go as again you either go offline (not your falut as your dongle but still quite common) or your just not chatty as you said..that's fine but again why i have not been on..BUT i have had our anniversary to sort, dd's birthday, friends birthday, party to sort for tommorow etc so been quite buisy..not because of you as such.
You know i love you to bits and am quite upset writing this..we are poss both stubborn i dunno, i just like a yes or no tbh not the faffing that we seem to have when i ask what i think is a simple question!
Hope you had a good day at work and will see you monday if i don't speak to you before xx

The next happened earlier this week. My sister text me asking for my address,
I wonder how close you are if she doesn't know your address?
Anyway...I wasn't impressed by Ikea the first time I visited, personally didn't like the layout of the store but I have been again since. Good job we're all different or would make a boring world:D

Nice to see your sister on here! I agree with the text issues but as long as you keep communication open, I wonder if OP is a bit too polite ie" Can you babysit for our anniversary?" could be " Are you free Tuesday after work so we can go out for anniversary? more info in the request would save a lot of table tennis messages, just a thought. I'd also add I think some people get their kicks from falling out with people, I am not intending this to your sister at all, but my own experience, takes a while to realsie no matter hat you say it's likely to cause some sort of fall out, hmm maybe i should start my own thread about that!

I said 'unless' I wanted something specific, I wouldn't consider going. Now i'm going to sound even sadder as I only really wanted one particular item there, despite not being impressed with the place. I didn't go in the end, but I would have travelled there (about 2 hours) for it :o

...don't even get me started on the chinese restaurant saga :rotfl:

I'm off to read my book now. LOVE YA SIS!!! :p

You wanted a ...lemon squeezer didn't you sis??!!! lol sorry couldn't help myself..a 2 hour drive to a shop you..hate..sorry are not keen on..!! I would have gone and i only wanted some magnetic tins..but i do LOVE Ikea!!

And the restaurant..hmm yeah forgot that one..if i was a bit nearer to you i would come and insert a large piece of prawn toast where the sun don't shine!! (joke btw if misunderstood, you know what i mean!!)

    Anyway niiight!! x

I don't really need to know her address tbh most of the time as dont send her things but dd wanted to send a thankyou in the post..i know how to drive to her house so that's all i really need if seeing her..
Again another person who 'personally didn't like the layout of the store' but has returned since!! see Ikea has this effect on people!

Like I said up ^, I don't tend to contact people unless there is a reason, i'm not one for small talk on the phone, never have been.

I didn't tell you off, it was a half jokey/slightly p'd off response, as yes, that was the only programme I wanted to watch. I said not to ring back as even though I did want to watch it, it wasn't that important. Now if you could remember not to ring me between the hours 8-9pm on Thursday i'd really appreciate it as there's a new series of The Restaurant on :rotfl::p;)

I must be honest here and feel at times that you assume I am free all the time just because I haven't got a 'life' (i'm single, live on my own, don't go out much) but just because I haven't got a partner or go out all the time, doesn't mean I haven't got things of my own to be doing. I feel you mock me at times when you say 'well what else will you be doing?!'

    Monday? At the cinema? *snickers*

I wouldn't say we were particularly close, no one in our family is. We're better than we once were as lost contact for a few years, so sort of had to start again. Long story, boring....as was Ikea (i'm JOKING!! :p)

I agree with this. Maybe it's just me being anal (I am, I completely admit it and anyone I have worked with will say the same) but I really do like the details. If I got a text with the majority of the information to start with, i'd probably answer straight away.

Start a thread, I love this site (hence why i'm not in bed reading said book and still here....grr!!)

Hi thanks for the reply..i agree with you and my text went something along the lines of..'could you poss have xxx on monday so we can go out for our anniversary please? the reply was along the lines of 'what time will you be home?' me having no idea till we knew whether she could do said no idea as yet (but had to be up at 5am next day so not late!)! ..then she had the dentist so again no idea what time she would be over..seemed a bit of a hassle in the end as didnt know what time to book for etc so we asked someone else! turns out you sat in the dentist till quite late didnt you sis then realising it was the wrong day so would have been a nightmare i can imagine!
This is the prob with us arranging things though, quite a common accurance tbh..dh said to use my initiative and just book the cinema as she has said 'any time' and tell her what time it is etc..this aleviates the probs..or so i thought..then got a text saying she would be hanging round waiting..grr!!

Oh dear, now we sound like a pair of fruit bats, if anyone knew us in real life they'd avoid us in the street!

Actually, it was lint rollers (you know I have hairy carpets!) so it was for TWO items :p You could have got your tins that you've been banging on about for years too!

Ah, but i'm not closer am I? :P (i'l still take the prawn toast though)

I'm now sitting here laughing at how sad we sound. I'll call the men in white coats.
