Afternoon all, miss me :rotfl: Well that was a holiday and a half  Managed to breakdown yesterday morning but we have breakdown cover free with mums insurance. They towed us back to the caravan yesterday and collected us and towed/carried us all the ay home this morning. Didn't manage to see any of the NT sites we wanted to but thats life. Saved money though :j
Have a great weekend all :A0 -
Welcome back Pap, sorry to hear about the breakdown!
Did you have a good time other than that?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Yeah it was good thanks Snaggs, peaceful
Managed to go to one NT site and also the show caves. These things happen and the holiday was fine never the less, I would have been annoyed however if it was my one holiday of the year but as it was a cheap break I wasnt too bothered
Off to Bath tomorrow on the train as an 'extra' day out this weekend :j

i missed ya papster! altho we did some text-ables too...
glad you had a good time essentially... sorry about the car.
at least you'll look back and say you did something with your hols...I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Pap, really sorry to hear about that, cars have such bad timing when they break down!
Mmm cranberries.
Lovely smells wafting out of my kitchen!
Going into town in a bit to buy some 'store cupboard essentials' to get on with more cooking, and to meet my outreach worker. Then I'm typing ex's essay for him (500 words, will take me about 15 mins once I've got him to read it out to me cos his writing's awful) while he chops veg for me. And going out with sis tonight.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Okay...another dilemma...
I've been chatting on FB to a nice guy who is a friend of someone I used to work with (let's call him Surfer Guy).
We get on well, he seems very keen, he's asked me to meet him for a drink on Monday night, and by sheer co-incidence, I could do because the kids aren't at home.
He's very cute...actually looks a bit like Mr Sunday (not sure that's healthy...but I hadn't noticed till someone else pointed it out, so maybe I'm just attracted to that type). I think we would get on well.
He's a bit of a lad, goes out clubbing with his mates and gets drunk etc, but seems to have a more mature, more cultured side too. He seems to be a good Dad to his kids.
So, all really good stuff....BUT....
When we were talking a few nights ago, he mentioned that he used to often be drunk at work, but isn't any more. We're not talking years ago, he meant a couple of months ago. He seems to go out drinking quite a bit too, and did say that he will have to have a few drinks before our date to calm his nerves.
I told him if he turns up drunk I will go home. Still not convinced he will arrive sober though.
I just don't know whether to meet him, or tell him I don't want to.
The date is in my home town, so I can get home easily and quickly if he's drunk, and when I asked him if it bothered him that I wasn't really a drinker (lol...I know....but I was just testing the water), he said no, because he isn't either!
Do I assume the being drunk at work was a blip while he was going through a rough time? Or do I listen to the warning bells and run a mile, even though I really like him apart from that one issue?
I'm not sure if he's an alcoholic, possibly just a heavy drinker who got a bit carried away but has sorted himself out now. It does worry me though. I don't want someone who is drunk being around the kids, and I've seen what alcohol addiction does to people, and how selfish it makes them.
Whyyyyyyyy can't it just be simple??"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
i think you have to give him the benefit of one date hun...
maybe he meant it in a "i drink pints, and i am a bit of a lad, does that impress you kinda - turned up drunk to work" thinking you might somehow think that kinda recklessness is attractive!?
and as for having a drink for nerves prior to meeting you, kinda sweet... and probably totally unrelated to the former.
benefit of one date.... you can always hide in the loo if it all goes pear shaped!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

I'm off to London this weekend (seeing Wicked! Yay! :j) or I'd have had you around for coffee. Typical, eh?
I've been dozing most of the afternoon and managed to get B*gg*r all done. I've got to go out again in about 1/4 of an hour for a evening lecture, then I've picked up an extra shift at work so I won't get back until 8pm at the earliest. Maybe I should make sandwiches.

Have fun - Wicked theatre is practically opposite my house! If you nip around the corner onto Wilton road there are loads of cool places to eat (and cheaper than Victoria)0
