  • Another mug here mugged by these guys. Two months of two payments of 9.95 taken in the name of Clubprem and VPrewards. Sly players, for sure. Shame. Vistaprint seem a decent enough company, good prices and reasonable products. But with this grisly ruse they reveal themselves to be zero integrity scam merchants. In the end they will simply wreck their good rep. and lose all their business if they carry on shaking down their customers like this.

Couldn't get through to 08456 722002, the number they give (always busy and no queuing system), but got through to Vistaprint direct on 0800 0288251. The lady there said she would cancel both and refund one month's payments. I guess they figure that I will settle for that and can't be hassled to chase for the other two payments. Obviously this is a nice little earner for them as they have attracted plenty of complaints over the last year or so and have done nothing to prevent their customers falling into this trap. Nor is there any mention anywhere of happy Clubprem customers.

I guess we're not always as smart as we think we are
  • Another person to be scammed!

In March I made bought some business cards for our business. The order process is very confusing and adds items you do not ask for. In fact it doubled our order, and after making many phones that were not answered and sent many emails that were not answered I gave up. In may I was given a bonus of free fridge magnets and only had to pay for postage. They arrived quickly and the quality was ok but not good enough for what we were looking for, so did not order more.
I have just checked the Barclay card and found since May a total of £50 has been taken out of our account. According to Barclays this was an agreement to set up a subscription. I have not asked for this and can only think its Vistas deceitful ordering process that ahs added this on.I ahve emails to the company and I am hoping for a reply. I do feel scammed. I have searched the internet and found loads of forums and consumer affair web sites full of complaints. Below is just a few of them.

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/online/vistaprint.html contains loads of complaints and warnings

http://chiswickken.typepad.com/ringtone/2006/12/vistaprint_a_wa.html starts with the title “vista scam”

    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general-consumer-issues/47903-vistaprint-beware.html

http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-100408.html customer talking about being “scammed”

a really bad review saying about customers having money taken without there permission.

There are load more than this.

I have asked the company for my money back and to cancel. I do think this is a very misleading site.
  • Just recived this reply. No wonder we cant get through. they do not except emails and to ring them you have to ring between MIDNIGHT and 4AM????

  • I have just registered my new Amex card, and have found VP/rewards on it! my husband is the initial card holder so i can only go back to statements from May! but I have £11.95 off each month to VP/rewards I am so angry, as I know I never willing signed up to anything esp using my husbands card!! I have called them and they say they can't refund anymore than 5 months payments! I dread to think as I have been using vistaprint for about 5 years! They gave me an email address to contact them on, I now have to find out how much they have actually taken! My husband will flip!!!

Yep, they did it to me, too, and I would describe myself as very web savvy. I filled in my CC details for some business cards, then a month later found a second charge from vprewards.com on my statement.

I just called them up on 0800 028 8251 and they promised to cancel my subscription and refund my CC - I'll check it in a few days. No questions asked - they just did it.

I only gave my CC details on the vistaprint website, so either vistaprint charged me for something without telling me or they gave my cc details to a third party.

The business cards were great and I was ready to put another order, but I am not happy with this sort of business practice and I certainly won't be using these clowns again.

  • Fellow victims,

I too have fallen foul of the Vistaprint scam. I discovered it after the first payment of £9.95, only because I was checking my credit card transactions on-line.

I called Vistaprint in the US and got an assurance my membership will be cancelled and the fee refunded. Got an email later to confirm cancellation of membership, but no mention of fee refund. So I'll need to wait to see if that happens through online checking of my credit card charges. I can't bare to call Vistaprint again unless it's essential.

Anyway I will need an alternative supplier of business printing in future, so have found www.clickbusinesscards.com and https://www.iPrint.com. Haven't used them personally (but will be) but they seem to come recommended on various posts.

If they are any good, these firms have missed a trick in my mind. They need to grab the url www.scamfreeprinting.com and set up "scam-free printing" etc in their website meta-tags and get pointed to by the thousands of Vistaprint victims needing to defect!

As I say, I've no idea if www.clickbusinesscards.com or https://www.iPrint.com are any good and may also provide your credit card and personal details etc to a third-party, contravening UK data protection law and then also make direct and recurrent credit card charges on a monthly basis, but it seems unlikely! In the least, they are an alternative to the evil Vistaprint!
