  • I reported on thursday that I had just found out about my VPrewards being deducted from my new bank account, quite shocked. After reading everything I decided to call the numbers that had been posted. I got a very friendly guy who offered to replace the money taken when I said I hadnt signed up for anything. I received an email within an hour to say I had cancelled membership. Today I went onto my bank & found 8x £9.95 replaced as promised. so I am very pleased.
I didnt argue or threaten, I was just the helpless blonde female that had found a mistake in my bank account. 4 days & had my money back.
Also happy cos I only thought it was 4 x £9.95, so it was a bonus.
Hope everybody is as lucky as I was.

    Good luck!
    Alison

Michkoff, it's funny that you're newly registered and your only posts so far have been about your positive experience with VistaPrint's refunds.

Looks a mite suspicious to me...
  • I was a vicim of this scam (and I DO consider I was scammed!!!!). I have a 'Cash Plus' card which I pay money into in advance of spending. Following an order to Vistaprint for business cards I found that in addition to the printing costs two payments had been taken from the cards for £9.95 each in the names of VPREWARDS.COM and CLUBPREM.COM. I contacted my the card provider who said that these companys are both linked to VISTAPRINT. Like a previous poster, no money was taken the following month when there was none in the account and I was not chased for payment BUT as soon as I put funds on the card another two payments were taken for £9.95 each. After a search on Google for these sites I was directed to this website. I contacted Vistaprint on the number given by a previous poster (UK 08000288251) and they 'agreed' to unsubscribe me BUT denied I could have unknowingly subscribed. They have also gave me my ID numbers for the two sites and told me that I will have to call another number in order to discuss a refund. THIS NUMBER IS UK 08456722002
I was always happy with the products I received from Vistaprint but will be looking elsewhere for my printing after this experience.
Thankyou posters for your invaluble information.
  • Hi

I've only just seen this post regarding VistaPrint's association with VPRewards.

This is something that you sign up to receive a 10pound voucher "free".

This is of course their way of signing you up. the rewards are not worth 1p let alone 10pounds.

It was a few months before we noticed money had come out of account but when we complained we were refunded in full.

I am a fan of VistaPrint products and have not experienced any problems.

Push for a refund as they had not made the "offer" clear.

    Regards:mad:

and I thought it was just me!
i've been ordering online for 7-8 years, i use the internet all day and somehow i "signed up" for this wonderful offer. i was outraged. when i phoned to complain the girl just sounded bored and said she'd refund it but it would take 3 months. they are such crooks. i can't order with them ever again.
so pleased that people are making a stand against this outright dishonesty.
  • I too have been 'had' by Vistaprint. I have emailed them 3 times to cancel my subscriptiojn but they keep taking money from my account. I have written to my bank and they say they cant cancel the payment for me. I find that hard to believe. Lloyds TSB say I have to write to VPRewards asking them to cancel the subscription before they can step in and help - what a load of bull. I have emailed again and wait for a reply??????????????

    That is perfectly correct

Its not your banks fault you cant read

You should approach VPrewards to cancel and refund you

If they refuse your bank can try and raise a dispute but the likiehood is you will be unsuccessful if its in the t&c's that it would happen and you didnt read them

Banks dont cover you for your mistakes, just fraud and errors which are covered under the acts/visa/mastercard

I have just heard of a variation of this "problem" on the BBC Three Counties Radio consumer programme. In this case a woman bought some items from a TV shopping channel and was asked if she didn't mind her "details" being passed on to other companies.

It turns out that this information was the woman's credit-card details which were passed onto a company called "The Big Savings Club". She was docked £1.99 for a trail membership of this club, and then she found that they also wanted £99 for full membership. She tried to cancel but they wouldn't let her, and her CC company told here that even if she cancelled her card she would still be liable for the fee.

Obtaining money by deception is a criminal offence, regardless of how it's done. I can't fathom why a BBC local radio station hasn't the nous to appreciate that -- unless (and not for the first time) there's a victim here whose recollection isn't 100% reliable.

A TV "shopping channel" blithely passing on credit card details to a third party which promptly charges that card for a service the card holder never signed up for is a TV shopping channel on its way out of business double-quick. The credit card company wouldn't stand for it, either.

I don't believe a word of the shopping channel saga. VistaPrint, however, is a different matter: I've screen shot all the pages of their website when going through the ordering sequence for "free" business cards and there's no mention of the associated scam sites.

As the wonderful new MSE member Michkoff can undoubtedly confirm.

I have been doing some research on the net and it seems that the Big Savings Club is being promoted by the Best Direct shopping channel. So it does seem there is some sort of tie-up between the two outfits. Details are here :-
