7th successive month of house price rises.

UK house prices have risen for the seventh consecutive month, helped by better-than-expected news from the job market, the Nationwide has said.
The building society said that the average home increased in value by 0.5% in November compared with October and now costs £162,764.

The typical home was 2.7% more expensive than a year ago, at a similar level to prices in early 2006.

    Ouch....

2.7% YoY gains, not good for the bears at all.

Year on year gains are the kiss of death for those hoping to profit from waiting or STR-ing.

And those gains will only get bigger now.... 10% YoY forecast by spring.

Only half the story as usual. NW say that the better than expected job figures are in part due to companies not making people redundant but making more people part-time or less contracted hours. Not sure how this will continue to help HPI especially when interest rates rise. Surely less pay does not help HPI?

As for people waiting every person has to view their own area. In mine Property bee full of drops now and I supect these to continue.

The last 8 months of 10% + gains, totalling £15,018 on the average house, whilst unemployment rose and income growth declined, would tend to disagree with you.

And in other news, asking prices remain far less relevant than actual sold prices.

I know some of the bears said it was going to be a long cold winter. But when are some going to come out of hibernation.

There is now almost no conceivable way that prices will drop back to the lows seen in Feb.

    The chances are vanishingly small.

There will be a lot of bears crying in their beers tonight.

And hopefully a few contemplating the bad advice they've been trying to push on potential FTB's in order to further their own selfish agenda.

Advice that would have cost anyone delaying a small fortune by now.
