Spent all day hoovering, tidying, clearing surfaces, polishing and washing floors ready for house viewing tonight. I even baked a fresh loaf!

Viewers turned up but showed as much interest or enthusiasm as a stuffed fish- sigh!

Made DD scrambled eggs and toast when she got home from school then hastily cleared up before viewers were due.

After they left ( shortest viewing ever) and no questions - made DDs and me sausage eggs and beans in the Remoska- DH still full from working lunch .

Going to read posts for the last few days and catch up with everyone's news.

Have a great holiday, you all deserve one.

  • Evening everyone!

Wow, I take a few days to get around to posting, and there's loads of new faces!

Welcome everyone. I hope you are all well and healthy, Free hugs going over here again as usual to anyone who wants them or needs them.

Jayne and George, hope you are both well, and the kitten proofing is coming along nicely. Hope you're feeling a bit fitter. I has cake for brekkie this morning in George's honour.

Too much has been going on in my absence to mention everything individually, but I'd like to say thanks for the laughs Hester and Haribo amongst others, and hugs to all the DSs and DDs having problems. Mine are still young enough not to be too much trouble, but I really sympathise.

Not much OSiness here still must get my finger out! Will bake tomorrow, but not as much as Diva:T Well done to you! Probably some muffins and Twinks. Soup for the Freezer to make for next week, and a clearout of the clutter for winter.

Sorry, I feel really boring tonight!

    evening all!

have just skimmed the thread - not taken much in really just wanted to wish PP a great holiday x

Thankyou all for your kind words about my DSs job, after him worrying about it for several weeksand feeling really down he got a phone call at bedtime last night from the hotel offering him some more work:j what a suprise! he was over the moon and is doing 2 days this weekend!:T

We are waiting for a phone call from DSs best friend as her sister was rushed into hospital by ambulance after a car crash - she's 19 the same age as our eldest and they went to school together. There's no news yet and we've told her to let us know if we can help at all. Her parents are there at the hospital.
This takes me back to when this happened to my eldest DS which was terrifying so my thoughts are with her parents.

OSiness today - washingon airer, tea was leftover stew from freezer, house clean and tidy. Been at work for 10 hours today so no time for anything else.

    take care all x

    Good evening,

Once again, I have failed to cook. I had a doughnut (iced) for breakfast, and an egg custard tart for dinner. I have managed to apply some cheese to crackers for my supper (yay). Don't panic, Grumpy the house elf had scotch pancakes for breakfast, ham sandwiches, digestive biscuits and some crisps for lunch, and lamb stew (pureed to hide the veg), with mashed potato for dinner. His came out of the freezer, mine came out of a box from Asda.

I don't think it's the current circumstances that's causing it (though they're obviously not helping). I think it's the fact that my respiratory tract infection has sprouted a head cold, and my sinuses are making my head feel like it's caving in.

Unfortunately, my supplier of cooked food for me has gone to Spain on holiday, so I'd better get my finger out and get on with it. I have however managed to do all the ironing, so at least we'll be clean and presentable should any eating out opportunities present themselves (not likely with me coughing and blowing my nose sadly :rotfl:).

I'm taking the boy shopping for a bed for his cat and some other bits and pieces tomorrow. I bet we come home with the most pink and sparkly collar the shop sells. The people that I work with have kindly had a collection for me, and because I didn't want any flowers (too much of a visual reminder for George of what we have lost), they have even more kindly given the money to George to fund his kitty shopping spree. I continue to be touched and amazed by the love and generosity that we've been shown by everyone.

    Take care all of you.

p.s. Taplady, although you say your son may not be as fast as some of the other staff, he will probably be the most reliable person they've had in ages. Remind him that hotel trade slows down after the summer wedding season, and picks up again at Christmas. I'm so pleased for him x

    Thanks CRANKY:T

I'm sorry you're feeling poorly - I suffer with my sinus's too in winter and it makes you feel so miserable doesn't it, eat what you like - food is food and I could eat cake for every meal:D
I hope the shopping for cat stuff goes well, what a lovely thing for your colleagues to do for George.

No new yet about the accident - hope its a case of no news is good news.
