Morning all!
Lovely and sunny here today, and dd3's rash is almost gone, so she's back to school for tomorrow I hope! I suspect that it's a slight eczema rash caused by the sudden burst of really cold weather we had at the weekend.
OS has involved packed lunches, washing pots, wiping kitchen sides and cupboards and making myself and dd3 a cuppa! And that is it! I am absolutely shattered still, so I'm going to give myself a kick up the bum, write a list of stuff I need to do and get out of the house and do it! Will also grab a multi vit with iron just incase it's lack of iron, more likely it's the onset of winter just making me tired, but like all of you, there really isn't time to flop about feeling droopy and doing nothing!
So today I shall be off to Lidl and Aldi for veg and fruit (2 bags of the satsumas I bought on Tuesday have gone already, good job they were only 15p!), drop in forms at doctors, sort out a flu jab, get ds's passport signed by a neighbour (hooray for the postie delivering today, couldn't find ds's birth cert! Still trying to work out why they need to see it really, as they saw it when he was added onto my passport, so they've had sight already, but mine is not to reason why and get lost in the labyrinth of beauracracy!) Also need to dig out large white unstained table cloth, white plates and cutlery for dinner on Saturday. Oh, and I need some steak as ds has requested it for dinner cos OH is here tonight and apparently he cooks it properly! Suits me, as I have totally lost my meal plan, and I will gain brownie points with OH if he has a nice bit of steak, as I would really quite like him to do the cooking for Sat!
Packed lunches: cheese, carrot and cucumber stuffed pittas, shortbread, apple/satsuma
Lunch for me and dd3: poached eggs on toast
Dinner: steak for oh and ds, something with chicken for the girls as I defrosted some for dd2 to take in to make satay and then she was ill! Perhaps kebabs for the girls and I'll get dd2 to make up a satay sauce (since I now have a large jar of peanut butter and nobody eats the flippin stuff!) Will dig in freezer for veg and do some game chips as well.
Last night I brought some lovely reduced mushrooms, 2 packs of chanterelles and 2 packs of shitake for 86p in total! So Friday night's dinner will be something lovely with these - any suggestions gratefully recieved!
Rightho, going to have a quick catch up, and then get going, hugs where needed and have a good day xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Just a quickie, not that OS, but very ms, for those that don't pop over to the Grabbit board, Fragrance Direct have a Too Faced make up pallet at £2.99, usually £10-15 I think, very popular brand with teenage girls (plus I ordered yesterday at 2pm and it was delivered this morn by my postie). Also Bodyform packs have a free Jemma Kidd lipgloss on them (apparently worth £10), which is also great for girls' chrimbo stockings, Tesco have bodyform at 2 for £2 and I think boots might also have an offer.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

Morning everyone:wave:
I have been cryingI've just peeled and chunked five huge onions to process for a big batch of my freezer veg hash. Boy, did they make me howl. My eyes feel really tired now. I've also processed a load of leeks a head of celery, some carrots and a bulb of garlic. I now have 23 tubs of hash in the freezer and quite a bit on the kitchen floor:rolleyes:
We've had toast and jam for breakfast.
The lunchboxes have ham rolls, tomatoes, grapes and some Green & Black's white chocolate in them. I shall have a ham and tomato roll and some fruit.
Supper will be a veg curry-chickpea, squash and carrot with coconut I think plus rice.
I've also got a batch of sour dough rising. I accidently put too much salt in , I managed to get some out -hope it won't be ruined.
The sun has come out here and I'm wondering whether it is strong enough to dry my washing.0 -
Morning all
My flat is still COVERED in saw dust lol. It will be worth it, it will be worth it. Should be done by Saturday though fingers crossed!!
Veg and Lentil soup for lunch and Spag Bol for tea. Going to go for a run tonight as I have been neglecting the gym due to the dark nights creeping in and just general laziness on my part.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Morning peeps
another cold grey day here today but at least it has stayed dry.
The houndies have been walked and i`ve just had a late breakfast after working my way through the rest of the ironing, i shall put that all away shortly and then go and tidy the kitchen and wash the pans.
Big pan of chicken and chorizo pasta made for tea for DH later and the fridge has had a good clean out so feeling quite happy with my jobs so far today.
Off to w*rk after a quick shower so thats the rest of my day spoken for, i made an updated freezer list and meal planner yesterday and i`m pleased to see the freezer contents are going down, hopefully i can get it defrosted not too far into November and then the great stock up will begin. I really need to rejoin the grocery challenge again next month as after 2 months away the spending has been creeping up and i`m not happy with that at all.
Welcome to all the new posters  nice to see some more people on here, so many of the previous posters have disappeared and i really miss reading about their days.

Hi
A quicky from me as I'm at work!Seem to live in the Town Hall at the moment with evening meetings and operatics rehearsals!
Just skimmed the thread with a coffee!
Managed to prep an evening meal every day before work for the last week so quite proud of myself. Told OH it's his turn tonight so he has suggested "toast"! Shouldn't complain as he's really good and always does the Sunday roast whilst I'm "busy".
All washing up to date but housework a bit hit and miss! Too much stuff and so little time to declutter!
BB Spike is gorgeous!
Diva I'm so impressed with your baking blitz! I think I should make a sausage plait. What sort of pastry do you use and what ratio of pastry to sausage meat?
thrift I'm intrigued by your freezer veg hash? What do you use it in? Do you freeze it in mixed batches?
redruby So pleased about the house move. Good Luck!
taplady hope your son finds something soon.
 to everyone not mentioned.
Hugs to everyone who needs one. :grouphug:

When I want to make a pasta sauce, a curry, any kind of stew, soup -anything that has a sauce really, I take out a tub of hash, microwave it for 2 mins, drain off the liquid and then soften it in oil before adding the rest of my ingredients or you can add it straight to the pan without draining or using any oil.
I find it cuts down on the initial work of chopping onions and garlic and has the advantage of providing more flavour to the dish as the other veg are so flavourful0 -
Hey everyone ,been busy cleaning and tidying and now watching Doctor who before i go to the supermarket. Has anyone got a good sausage casserole recipe that I don't need a slow cooker for. I'm trying to find a big cooking pot thing to put it in and then in the oven on quite low and I'll rpobably have to go buy one, so knowing where I can get one of them from would be good too** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

Hi Again,
Well I have spent the morning organising and cleaner has helped - not coming next week though:(
I still have my son home and although he is better he now has an earache too? What is going on? It must be a virus. Our school nurse said she sent 80 kids home on Monday (including George).
Lowesy - best just to relax and not worry about it because stress does strange things to our hormones and our bodies. Look after yourself, lots of sleep, good food with B vitamins, Folic Acid and cut down on the alcohol (both of you). Im sure it will happen soon
Bitsy - Thankyou for your nice comment. it was much appreciatedx
Well I have to go and find some chicken breasts for DS3 as he cooking Green Thai Curry only Ive persuaded him to make Red Thai as I still have paste left. Debating tea. Last night the kids had Supernoodles and Bacon sandwiches. It was funny because I dont allow that type of processed food in the house but poorly George said it was what he fancied so I relented and DD got some on her way home from college. Actually they didnt taste as processed as the pot variety. He ate them anyway.
Have a good afternoon,
Love MollyI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
