And quite frankly, any parent that allows their child to 'live in poverty' should be done for child abuse. If money is tight then there are plenty second, third or even fourth jobs out there to make sure that children aren't in 'poverty'.
If any child is living in poverty then it sure as hell isn't the CSA fault:rolleyes:
Any yeah, to back this up, I DO have 4 jobs...and I'm a lone parent with very limited support around me. I'd rather die then ever think my daughter could live in poverty. I want a nice life so I will go out and bloody work for it and not blame any Government agencies.
I agree to some degree but this is a no win situation with the CSA. You work more, to earn more because you are struggling ... and the more you earn, the more the CSA take. It can make it difficult.

Spoke to partner who said 3 yrs ago they told him he had £5000 of arrears and he would have to pay extra to pay them off. As far as he is aware they told him the amount he would have to pay each month in order to do that, which he has paid since 2006.
He has so many different letters telling him to pay different amounts its unreal. I have emailed asking for a breakdown of arrears and I shall be writing tomorow recorded delivery to ask for the same thing.
We have also spoken to our local MP's office who asked for us to email all the details so they can try to sort something for us.
The ironic thing in all of this is my ex has a deductions from earnings to pay his csa and only pays when he feels like it and when I question them they say we can only give you what he gives us!!! How come he isn't harrassed?0 -

But for me to earn more, I have to pay more tax - but I don't see it like that...yes, Mr HMRC will get his slice (or not so if my accountant does his stuff;)) but I am still benefiting.
It's not as if the CSA take 100% of any more earnings is it?
To have the mentaility of saying the more you earn the more the CSA take is going to be draining....at the end of the day, there are always people that want your money, but if you work more then you being more into the house even after the CSA, HMRC or whatever.0 -

That is not always true. If I worked now, we would not be any better off. After paying childcare, travel costs and tax credits taken off of us, we would be bringing into the house about the same as now. Unless I found that excellent job that pays loads and has flexible hours so I can work around my husband.
The majority of jobs around here are minimum wage.

Nah, life isn't simple...not at all....but then maybe I see the glass as half full...
btw...one of my jobs is working from home;) no childcare needed. It's all about looking outside the box I guess instead of just assuming that obstacles can/will get in the way.0 -
What do you do, feel free to tell me to mind my own business?August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61

It all depends how you define poverty. A news report had a woman claiming poverty because she didn't receive CSA but her son was in the background playing on a playstation and a flat screen telly!!
And no I don't receive child support - thousands of £s of arrears were written off as uncollectable. One life.0 -
Sorry to have to tell you that you are wrong, they will take it all and make it not worth you getting more jobs, I have seem the papers from people that this has happend to. They also try to take money of the partners of the NRP as well, and before you say that they dont they are trying it with mine!!!0
