Lot of businesses in one house (you can even see the place on google streetview).
  • I wish I had seen this thread before I used them (I searched for greentec in the forums, but strangely nothing came up :().
They've had our Nokia 6220c since January 23rd, and there's been nothing from them, no emails, nothing on the order page, and no reply to my message left on their answer machine. I am hoping that they aren't complete ripoff merchants, but somehow it's looking that way. At least I can prove they received it with the special delivery.
I had a look on Companies House database (free, thanks to the OU), and they are registered at 130 Anerley Road, London, SE20 8DL, and the company directors are showing as Mr Ambrose Uzoziri (CEO), and Mr Weili Zhao (Director). I give them a week to fund my bank account with what is owed to me before I start proceedings against these two, and contact Trading Standards.

It's not just about the money
  • A quick update on my dealings with them .
I actually got a reply from one of my many phone calls /emails to them today .
It is copied below .Does anyone else recognise this English from Nigerian scam emails?
    Dear Sir, Madam,

in relation to your phone communication your orders has been pass on to our accounts dept , who will process your payment.
it is intending to be pay by the end of this week.Sorry about the delay

    thank you,

    Yours Sincerely
    Greentec Customer Services

This could prove interesting as in my last phone call to them (by the way you cannot actually talk to anyone , you get an option to leave a message requesting your order number, name and message and they will email you back !)
I stated in my phone call that I had sent a letter to Bromley Trading standards (which I have done) and also if I have no satisfaction from, them I will have no problems calling their local police station and have them investigate their operation .
    That's when I got a response after clos on a month !
I will let you know if I actually get paid by them .

Funnily enough I got exactly the same email from them yesterday, as well  Shall see whether the payment finds its way into my bank.
  • Another email, stating it will be monday or tuesday now  Not impressed.
  • Like most others here, i saw the good prices with Greentec and sent off two mobiles on 21st January (i just sent them with proof of posting to their freepost address). Having heard nothing for over 10 days, i found this thread and expected the worst (luckily the value of my items wasn't much, only around £35 at full expected price - though they met all the criteria for that valuation the company would have had grounds to at least try and reduce this a little i.e. though not required, i didn't send in the charger with one of them).

However, I sent them an email on the 2nd February simply asking for confirmation that they had received my phones and an update re the progress of the order - I didn't hear from them, but yesterday (4th Feb) i had a cheque at home for the full £35.

So, despite abysmal communication and the fact that they certainly did not meet their promised turnaround times, i seem to have no real reason to complain about them - I at least (from the tone of the other posts) expected to have some reduction in the payment. There is always the chance the cheque could bounce but ultimately I can't say to much against their service, other than that it is slow and silent.

If i didn't stand to lose too much i would probably deal with them agian, but i wouldnt recommend them or deal with them if the phones were valued more.
  • Quick update ,
I have at long last recieved payment for my mobile phone and was quite surprised to see that I actually got the price they posted on their website . No arguements and price reductions , which I was expecting to be honest.
It has taken a whole month for them to actually get around to doing what they say will take 5 days on their site . Also numerous emails and a phone call to an answering machine . Added to this a letter to Bromley trading standards and details ready to pass onto their local Police station if funds were not recieved .
Would I deal with them again ?
You really need me to answer that one ?

Steer clear would be my advice .

  • I used them before Christmas and had to chase them a bit

They had some sort of Indian call centre dealing with people over Christmas. then after Christmas I spoke to a English girl who sent me cheque within a couple of days which cleared OK.

I sent a couple of phones on the 5th Feb and noticed that they have removed one phone number from the site and there is only an answering machine number know.

I did a bit of goggling and found another number, a woman answered and appeared a bit annoyed that I had found the number she confirmed that it was Greentec. A day later the number redirects to a mobile.

I have further complicated issues in that it appears that the parcel I sent has not yet been signed for after a week, either Greentech have gone under or the Post Office have lost it.

Thankfully as I sent it through work I get better customer service I’m speaking to the SE20 sorting office manager tomorrow and hope to have the parcel sent back to me.

To be fair Greentech were fine the first time, but now I smell a rat as you just can’t get anyone on the phone, and they are not replying to emails.
