• I've just registered to post. I did the same posted phone off them saw this post. After alot of theatening to contact the police I received a cheque for phone, which cleared (I didn't think it would). I usually use envirphone and have never had a problem. I would never use greentec again.
• i have just registered to post as i only found this after having the misfortune to deal with greentec .
i sent my nokia 6500 slide to them by recorded delivery and they recieved it on 30th november and their website says i will recieve my money by bank transfer within 5 days of them recieving it . after 5 days i emailed them to ask about the money and i recieved an email back saying -
Dear Customer,

We have your phone.Payment will be made within 3 days as we do multiple bank transfer on specific day

Yours Sincerely,

Junaid Abbas.
(Customer Care Manager).

guess what ? no money and after phoning them yesterday i was promised the money would be in my account the same day but it wasnt so i rung them this morning to be told exactly the same thing but when i asked them how much i would be having after being told before i sent my phone off i would get £50.50 the girl on the phone told me i would be getting £48 as my phone had a small scratch on it ( even tho i sent it off as C grade which their site says is " working but with cosmetic blemishes " ) .
I have a feeling i am not going to recieve my payment again today and i am very wary about paying £7.50 to have my phone sent back .
does anyone know if i can report it to the police as theft or fraud or could i even inform the networks of the EMEI number and see if they can blacklist the phone so they cant sell it on ?
thanks Darren

This is interesting. Most other sites have a working grade, and a non working grade.

It seems like this site have multiple grades for working phones, which makes it a lot easier for them to slide down the scale and downgrade and pay less..

an experiment would be for a brand new phone, out of a box to be sent to them, and i bet they'd find fault with it regardless.

Think you should go down the route of small claims court - there is this web site

https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp

which is government backed so you can start the process.

To everyone else reading this - just do not use greentec is my advice, report them to ofcom/trading standards to stop other people falling victim.
• I was really scared after I sent off my mobile phone as I sent it before I looked on this site. However i was most happy/relieved after 4 days of sending off my phone, I checked my bank account and I recieved my money.
Extra cash was def handy for xmas. No problems.
• I reported them to Bromley trading standards, and had email saying they will look into them as they are indeed running a business from a private address, but they have not had any complaints about them so far.

My guess is they are downgrading the phones and hoping people will just accept the lower offer as its easier. I also believe that people who live closer to greentec will get a better deal,as local people may go round to see him?

but yes,he main point is AVOID GREENTEC!!!!
• Hi,

We have received this response from a representative at Greentec:

"Dear all,

Thank you for your recent discussions regarding our website. We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with our company.

We have taken on board your comments and are using them to help improve our company and customer services department.

When going through your complaints and feedback in the above thread we found that some of you haven't gone through our terms & conditions. If you can go through it will answer most of your questions.

We have situation where some customers don't send their paper work with their items, so this makes it very difficult track the customer order. During the extreme postal strike that everyone experienced near the end of 2009 this did caused problems in receiving cheque books and some payments were delayed due to this and the postal strike obviously caused delays in our customers receiving cheques. In these circumstances an alternative method of bank transfer was offered as per terms and conditions.

Our grading system has working and non working phones and also new and mint grading system. If your item falls out side the grading parameter , as per terms and conditions there could be a revised price but often relatively small. Due to the fact that we do offer to pay for new and mint phones at a higher price and processing camera ipods and game consoles, our grading systems would naturally be different from our competitors.

If you provide us with the order number we will cross check one more time against our phones that arrived with no paper work.. We can not guarantee you that we will give you a positive result as your items but will we try our best, however it could have been lost in the post, but if we think we can match your phone to similar circumstances we could give you the benefit of the doubt and forward a cheque.

Our office is based at our address stated on our website which has a blue frontage, there are flats next door to us but we are definitely an office and not a private residence. Please feel free to cross check our registered office and you will find this matching our advertised address.

If any customers in the above thread come up with a similar problems please contact us at services@greentec.org.uk.

We do apologies for the inconvenience caused for all the customers and looking forward to help and endeavor to minimize complaints.

Thank you

Greentec"
• Well regardless of the above post ,Greentec most definatley do not stick to their own terms and conditions .
I posted my mobile (recorded delivery) on 7-1-10 which was signed for on 9-1-10 .
I awaited an email from them confirming delivery (which is automated according to their T&C) which never arrived . So I emailed them on 17-1-10 asking basically if there was a problem ?
I got a reply on the 18-1-10 saying they had recieved the mobile and I would recieve payment within 3 days .
To my mind that should be 21-1-10 . But again nothing so on 24-110 I sent them another email giving them 5 days from reciept of the email to place funds in my account or return the phone otherwise I will start proceedings against them .
I have heard nothing since then and don't expect to .
So I have a letter drafted , ready to send to Bromley trading standards and also am taking advice on possibly getting a winding up order placed on them . This I am still awaiting advice on from a solicitor friend .
If they read this I ask them to reply , without quoting their terms and conditions as I have them printed off on my desk and can read them for myself .
I ask that they read them ,themselves and then stick to them .
Sorry rant over , but ripoff merchants like this only deserve bad publicity and the more I can give them the better !
• I sent a nokia to this company over 2 weeks ago and as yet have not received payment.
They confirmed receipt of the phone after I asked what was going on and promised payment when the phone had been processed.
They claim to offer a firm promise of payment within 5 days but have not done so.
It appears the company,or whatever it is, are just common thieves!!I don't think there is any chance of me being paid or seeing my property again and as the phone was worth close to £100 I am not at all happy.
I wish I lived nearer as I could at least pay a visit for some kind of satisfaction.
My advice would be to avoid these pond dwellers and deal with a reputable company such as mazuma mobile, they pay out in a matter of days.
I think they rely on people not involving the courts with the trouble that involves and just get away with outright fraud.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.

Web site looks to have been set up recently in June 2009 (copyright on site says 2008-2009 hmmm).
Address looks private residential - no doubt a single individual - not to be recommended.

Saying that don't want to alarm you - it might be the individual has no slips left in their cheque book but dodgey (could pay direct to bank if that were the case).
Ok as per my reply on the other thread heres some of the details of the search we did.
The address and post code turns up quite few business details which seem to be linked so shall list a few for the benefit of those chasing payments and wish to pass info to TS or whoever.

Besides Greentec there is a Hairdressers called Honeycut although we didn't find them linked other than the address but who's to know
http://www.hotfroguk.co.uk/Companies/Honeycut

A linked one is a Laundry Service ......Icc Ltd which is listed at Yell as having the same phone number as Greentec .....
http://www.yell.com/s/ironing+and+laundry+services-anerley-south+east+london.html

Icc ltd's link takes you to MaMa's Ironing and cleaning which shows a contact name of Andrew Johnson .......130 Anerley Rd is listed as the office whilst 42 is listed as the shop
http://www.mamasironing.co.uk/customer.htm

At the same address with the same Andrew Johnson is businesswebdesign.org.uk .....
http://www.businesswebdesign.org.uk/businesswebdesign/index.php?q=contact

Another one is Ambyssigns again same address and same Andrew Johnson
http://www.ambyssigns.com/80401/contact.php

Again Andrew Johnson is a License Organising companyas Ambys ....
http://www.ambysservices.com/ambysservices/services/ContactUs.htm

Also a Student Accomadation company for overseas Students

Also Business Accounts .org again Andrew Johnson

I'm sure by now you get the idea and hope it helps people
