I don't know about you but I cannot stand ironing! I was clothes and hang them straight on hangers to try and drop as many creases out as poss but still have to iron some things,
I am thinking of getting my ironing done for me (not very OS I know) There is a company near me that charges 40p per shirt/ jeans £2.00:eek: per king size duvet:eek:
Am I being lazy/extravagant or has anyone got any good ideas for me?

sounds good! I dont mind ironing but dont iron anything unneccesarily. I fold sheets and duvets and pillowcases off the line so never iron them, i dont iron underwear.Jeans I pop in the dryer for a few mins them fold so the main thing I iron is shirts ,some teeshirts and OH's trousers for work.I do it most days so it never builds up and then it only takes 15 mins or so to do and is never daunting.
Will no one else in the family do it for you?Do what you love :happyhear0 -
If you really don't want to iron, have you tried the easy iron fabric conditioners? I find that if I use those I don't have to iron most things.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Here's a lateral, OS idea - do you have a friend who doesn't mind ironing, but who has a chore they hate which you might be able to do on a regular basis in return for getting your ironing done?
I hate ironing too but I don't have enough of it to make such an arrangement worthwhile. Instead I iron as little as possible (with the exception of work shirts and cotton/linen skirts and trousers) and what I do have to do, gets done in front of the telly while watching Saturday KitchenOperation Get in Shape

I hated ironing but now I have a polti iron - its non stop steam and gets the job done in no time - but still I only iron things I really need to except I love ironed sheets and pillowcases! Sad but I love them ironed and when I win lottery that will be done every day!Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Snap!!
When I win the lottery I am having someone change my sheets every day- I love the feel ans smell of freshly washed sheets etc.
I don't mind ironing but try and cut down as much as possible, dry shirts etc on hangers, tumble dry jeans and fold, and basically fold as much as possible as soon as it has dried.I more or less only iron shirts and t shirts.

I hate ironing however DH and I have an agreement that he can watch sport on our only TV. I won't complain at all as long as he does the ironing at the same time....brilliant, I can cope with that. I'd rather be surfing MSE than complaining about sport. I really don't know how he manages to iron sitting down though.I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0

I really hate ironing too. However never have to hang much up at end as 98% seems to be dd's.0

Hi. I actually enjoy ironing but only when listening to Jeremy Vine on Radio Two! :rotfl:
When I worrked full time I had an ironing lady - she was very reasonable, something like £20 for a couple of bin bags full. I always think that ironing would be a good source of income for someone who wants to work from home - lots of p[eople would pay a lot of money not to have to do their own ironing!0
