Wheel balancing is only a small job for a tyre specialist, not very expensive.

It all depends on how bad it is, I doubt that it is road surface related.

I had the wheels balanced in the end. ATS did it in about half an hour for £12.50 and it completely cured it. I like bills of that size! Although another independent local place I went to first said £10 but were waiting for more weights to be delivered, so I waited and they never showed up so I went to ATS.

The car seems fine atm, it did that 160 mile trip very nicely.
Seems to have developed a 'clunk' and slight jerk when I first move it, having been left for 24 hours or so. I left it in gear with the handbrake off, thinking the brakes might be sticking but its still doing it. There's also a slight squeal and scraping sounds on the front brakes; most noticeable at slow speeds. Any ideas? Its not like a very loud, grinding sound; similar to what our other car makes, and the brakes on that have been checked and are fine.

There was an advisory for the anti roll bars on the 2007 MOT so I presume they've been done between then and now. I'm probably just being obsessive. There were no advisories on the Aug 09 MOT.
