It doesnt look too bad although bare in mind it is a classic and you will need to expect to have to do work on it and deal with problems like rust etc
Ok thanks. Well I was the highest bidder but obviously the reserve wasn't met, so I'll see if I can still view and see how much the seller wants.

Tomorrow I'm going to look at a Rover 111, Daihatsu Cuore and possibly a VW polo. Anyone have any specific knowledge of any of these? I know the Polo's probably best but has highest mileage of the 3 and shortest MOT.

I know what you mean. I'll have a good look for rust. Of the 3 I'm thinking the daihatsu's the best for me. Full service history and 11 months MOT.

There great cars. Used to have one and it was a cracking little thing.

Wouldnt have paid much over £500 for that though.

Thanks, surprisingly powerful as well (on paper anyway!) Really? Settled on £825 including tax. It had tyres that looked brand new all round as well, and they'd just serviced it. I hope I haven't paid over the odds...
Do you live in a big city with lots of cars around though? :D
Only slight downside is only 38mpg combined, though I suppose that's not really too bad. Now to choose which insurance company to give my fortune to.

If its a tidy version with a bit of recent maintainance its not too bad, your correct about the power, extremely nippy little thing.

Re the fuel. Definitly not too bad, Its easy comparable to 206's and puntos which I have also had and used far more.

Far more sensible than a Mini.;)

It looks OK to me, I would have argued for 12 months road tax, but it isn't too bad for that money I guess, I think that £600 was really about it's mark, but as long as you have reliable, presentable car that is really all that matters.

    Good luck.

Ah well nevermind. Yes I hope so. Thanks again for your help.
@Annihilator: I wasn't really able to properly put my foot down on the test drive, but I guess a car with 83bhp and a SPOILER will be quite fun. :D

Now I have a question about insurance. I'm not intending to insure this until mid December when the insurance on my mum's car runs out, so I'm going to get one of my parents to drive it home for me. They're both fully comp on their own cars, and are allowed to drive other cars TPO. I can't see anything on my mum's policy saying anything about this other vehicle having to have its own insurance policy in someone elses name, if that makes sense. Do I need to get temporary insurance cover for the day, or are my parents covered to drive it anyway?
