I've had a draining day and have been miserable as sin, but have friends coming round tonight which I'm looking forward too.

I could have quite happily gone on a random spending spree on the cards:naughty: Instead I bought a few things for the house (with cash) and ignored the shoe shops. I also bought the remainder of the christmas pressies and knocked a bit more off the cc.

Hopefully some good company and a few wines will give my motivation a bit of a kick in the b*tt!
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • Hi Pen, glad to see you are slowly knocking small amounts off your debt. Its small steps but small ones will amount to one large one ~ ie paying off your credit cards. Congratualtions or not hitting the shops today, its hard not to when you have had a bad day but each time you dont give in you are winning another small battle :T

Nice to see the kittens have settled in even if they are a little hyper :rotfl: Have a fab night and make sure you enjoy a glass or two of wine

    Take care :D
  • I'm a much happier MSEr today, meeting with friends last night was just what I needed (and I woke up without a hangover)!

Not much spent today just a newspaper and then OH treated me to lunch at one of our locals. Its one of these that do a fairly cheap 'home made' style roast dinner - which was absolutely lovely.

Family evening tonight, currently watching James Bond together. I love winter evenings when its dark outside and we are all snug and warm. Oh and kittens are doing their usual evening olympics to entertain us.

Sounds like a nice day. Well done on the christmas shopping - we're plodding through ours a bit at a time. I need to do a bit of a stocktake I nthink to see what I have, and what I still need, before we do the "serious" stuff at the end of the month.

  • Managed another NSD. Took DS to a new sports club tonight and he really enjoyed it. Its not money expensive but will take up quite a bit of my time. If you could only see how happy he was when I picked him up tonight I think it is going to be worth it.

I am still stressed about everything at the moment so have decided to back off from the non-smoking aim for a couple of weeks. I fully intend to give up by the end of the year and have managed to cut down loads so I'm not too worried for the next 7 weeks or so. I'm learning that I can't change everything in one day!

Still feeling pretty positive and this Christmas will be the first one ever that I have managed not to put any pressies on the card - which is all down to you guys here. I owe you all a big hug and lots of thanks for your support. Px.

  • Had my lazy and unmotivated head on yesterday and couldn't really be bothered with anything. I spent lunchtime as I hadn't made any sandwiches but that was it and I paid a bit of the CC.

I will be spending again at lunchtime as I ran out of bread after making the toast this morning and I'm going to do an on-line shop later (although it will be a small one as I'm stuck in the final week before payday!).

Kittens have learnt to climb the stairs and are now causing havock with the older two cats. Can't wait until that settles down again and I get a full night's sleep.

Right, had better go and do some work before I get into trouble.

  • Had a better couple of days at work and now I've finished the part time job for the week. A nice long weekend awaits but shame about the weather!

Back to MSE reality today. Took sandwiches to work and then went shopping without the family to stop treat buys - it makes such a difference with the total. I got in plenty of bits for the weekend that everyone likes too, so that we don't end up with takeaways.

Just settling down now with a nice glass of white (must remember to empty the washing machine when it finishes though or somebody will be without a PE kit tomorrow).

  • Am now personally stuck into a nice glass of rose. Always intend to wait until the weekend, but it gets to 9pm and think, well it's nearly the weekend....and have PE kit on my radiators as we speak.

  • Another NSD for me today as the weather was so lousy we couldn't be bothered to go anywhere! Sat in and watched movies this afternoon and have just had a nice home cooked curry for tea. I knocked up bit more off the cc but have to be careful now until payday next week.

I'm currently staring at a pile of ironing hoping it will do itself. Exciting Friday night, eh.

What rotten weather! Luckily no storm damage for us at the moment. Bought a few bits to help get the house organised today - nothing very thrilling, just a shoe rack and another washing basket courtesy of Argos value. Trying to get the family to not leave clothes and shoes all over the place but I'm not sure it will work.

Other than that there have been no spends and tonight I am doing family taxi service so apart from petrol that will be a free night too.
