Hugs Rosep - I would just do it....
Do you have a wardrobe or chest of drawers that the clothes could be hidden in? Even if it was just folded up and put into a couple of storage boxes, it would LOOK neater...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I feel that I'm constantly trying to tidy and clean and getting nowhere. Looking around I would say that 75% of the mess is DH's and he has no time or motivation to do anything about it. He actually objected earlier when I made his three piles of clothing lying around into two piles, and when I explained (again) that I can't cope with all this mess, he pulled a "I don't know what hte problem is" face.
So my question is: would it be acceptable to just shove everything into black sacks? I could then go through them and tidy things away properly - or if it's DH's gibble I could hide it in his truck or just move his mess out of the way more easily.
What do you all think? I'm feeling like a very demoralised flylady at the moment, cos my efforts seem to be going to waste
Rose - that sounds very much like our house, every room is full and I feel like I can't do much more without having a massive skip to take everything away and starting again! I put everything into the spare room - absolutely everything and then took one bag at a time to sort through - I am slowly getting there! xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Thanks everyone, that's what I will do then! I feel excited! Going to drastically fling stuff too
Soappie - he has these piles of halfworn clothes and says he can't put them away because they might start smelling - clothes taht have been worn once but can be worn again before washing. But yes, he has a huge chest of drawers."Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

go to gym tomorrow night when little ones are in bed - there Greenbee I've said it now and seeing as AF have gone away again I have no excuse other than myself!
I'm looking forward to hearing all about itI'll be going too - gym and then pilates hopefully.
Rose - you can do the binbag thing, but you'll need to give yourself a deadline for sorting it out. Maybe you need to do a spring clean. Empty EVERYTHING, clean the flat while the furniture is light enough to move - behind, under and inside everything. Then as you bring things back in (one area at a time e.g. kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff etc), sort it - clean and put away the stuff you are keeping, throw out the stuff you are throwing, and bag/box up the stuff you are giving away or storing. Realistically you need to reduce what you have in the place to the amount that fits in there. Then you should be able to keep on top of things if you put stuff away every evening. Don't keep things 'just in case'... you either need them or you don't. If you've got a small space, then you can't keep 6 sets of bedding/towels - you probably need two sets as you don't have the space to wash & dry the same day, but you also need to work out where the spare set is going to live.
Suppose I should go and make my packed lunch for tomorrow and decide what to have for supper. I could dust the bedroom too... and that way I'd get a star0 -
rosepink dont get down about it. I was impressed with your before and after pics last week so you can do it. I know it can seem demoralising if it is just one person doing the dumping and the other feeling they are doing all the tidying. I got fed up before and made a list of all the things Dh does in the house and what I did and I didnt do as much as I thought so i shut up a bit!:o
I agree with the black bags just so you can clear a room but couldnt you use boxes, one for each room and just chuck stuff into whichever room box it belongs then carry each box into each room then attack that box and empty it.
I would dump the boxes first then go back to the room you started with which should be clear apart from the one box so you will end up with one room completely clutter free. And then repeat in the next room. hope that makes sense. When I had sorted all rooms then I would clean, cant clean a room when its a mess it takes twice as long:mad: When I was pregnant with dd I had dodgy hips so I had a cleaner 2 hours a week. We would spend the night before tidying as we both agreed we were paying her to clean and not tidy and we wanted our money's worth:money:.
Come on girl go for it this week and I'll [STRIKE]be on your back keep [/STRIKE]encouraging you all week:rotfl:Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
Evening all,
Back in the land of the [STRIKE]living[/STRIKE] awake. My getting up at 6.30am old time, finally caught up with me this afternoon after the fair, and I fell asleep whilst watching Columbo. Decided to go up to bed so that I was more comfortable, and found OH had also fallen asleep, and we've only just woken up. OH has just gone off to his shooting club, and I've just come on here whilst keeping an ear on the teaching awards on BBC2. The fair was a bit disappointing - not much there - lots of tat really, but we go so that we can support the centre rather than to buy things. They are a local charity who rely on public support, and they take in rabbits and cats who need rehoming. At the moment they are raising money to build a new building that will have operating theatres and pens and all sorts in it, as previously they had an arrangement of lots of little garden shed type buildings for the animals, and a tiny vet area. OH and I donated a box of cat food each, I bought a cat toy for little black furry, and we each had a slice of cake before coming home again. We did however, see some of the cats and kittens that need rehoming, and I'm still umming and ahhing about whether we should get a female friend for Ebony or whether he should remain an "only moggie".
I'm glad DS1 liked Camden market serena - I've heard it's really nice at Christmas time. Maybe that could be the location of the next flylady meet?
Sorry to hear your news LilySue. Big hugs.
Thank you for the lasagne recipe penpen - it sounds similar to the one I had last night from M&S, so I'll be trying that one out.
Must get on and clear up the living room just in case colleagues are coming over to do spring planning tomorrow.
Anyone fancy a HHC 7-7.30?
