and Rose - there is no reason why once worn clothes can't go on hangers and/or go back in drawers.
    (You could always febreze them)
TBH it's actually a medical necessity - clutter and mess is depressing in itself IYSWIM - putting things away will help YOU
The more stuff is out the harder and harder it looks...

(You could get Kim and Aggie round - I'd defy them to find a xmas tree in your flat ;))

Rose, a couple of years ago I didn't know where to start with my housework - it was by far the worst that it has ever been. Not dirty, ie I kept the kitchens and the bathrooms clean, but more cluttered than clutter county.....

So one day, I sent everyone out for the day, and put absolutely everything except the minimum from downstairs, into the dining room, and everything except the minimum from upstairs into one of the bathrooms.

That meant then that 90% of my house was clutter free - allowing me to deep clean it, and enjoy the feeling of space......and the 10% that held all the clutter, could have the doors shut, and I could manage without the need to go in those rooms at all.

Eventually, I had the energy (mental, as much as physical) to tackle those last two rooms.......and it finally got cleared.

I wouldn't hesitate in doing the same again if need be - thankfully, despite my moaning about clutter, it has never got to the same state, so it hasn't been necessary.....but it was certainly a "way out" for me so I would say go for it!

Evening all! I am soooooooo tired today  The price to pay for having a good time Friday evening and yesterday, I guess :o The ups and downs of life!

I have done a load of washing which dried nicely outside in the sunny wind; walked to the shop to get a paper; read the papers; S & S kitchen and bathroom; washed up; and dozed on the sofa ......

    twoflower - welcome

Diva - hugs; have a great time with your father

L-L - huge hugs and prayers; hopefully, the new meds regime will settle down soon and you'll feel better x

LilySue - hugs and prayers for you and the family of your friend x

    Swinstie - welcome back

lala - glad things are improving at work and well done of the tidy 'palace'

serena - glad DS liked Camden; it is fab!

rosepink - IMHO clothes are either clean enough to be worn again and go in the wardrobe / drawers, or they go in the washing pile. Can you get some storage boxes and put everything into them and pile them up in one area? Then you can sort one at a time and be ruthless! And then you can nag me to do the same in my spare room ;)

I haven't been very successful on the flying front this week, but I intend to get loads done this week as I will end up feeling more down if the house is a mess. So I [STRIKE]may [/STRIKE] will require [STRIKE]nagging [/STRIKE] kinds words of encouragement from you all from tomorrow so I don't waste my week off feeling sorry for myself and lying on the sofa :o Thank you x

Rose - hugs for you. My DH is the same. His garage is still a pit, and he can't work in there because there is so much junk. At the old house I used to hide things on black bags in the coal shed, if he didn't ask where it was within six months it went in the bin on the morning the bin men came. Current clutter is his stuff but I am slowly working through it. Lack of storage is our problem, and lack of time/energy/inclination on his behalf. TBH when I worked full time, long hours, stressful job I didn't want to be bothered with tidying either.

Dusty - Oak furniture - nice stuff here. My lovely DH makes oak stuff when he can escape from his horrible job so no experience of buying any though.

    Hi all
Have done some flying today, planning a big clean for next week.
Penpen - I agree, you do a great job!
Rose I definitely think you should put things in bags, put the date on them and then you can see how long it is before you actually need the stuff in them.

Making a new recipe for dinner, salmon and rocket tagliatelle yum yum. Boyf has a big shopping list for tomorrow because I am sick of doing all the shopping.

And I've signed up today for the Manchester Shine, it's a nighttime marathon walk for Cancer research next April, and I'm going to raise money for bowel cancer. Boyf is doing it with me for general cancer research. Definitely need to start getting to the gym more!

    Lots of love to everyone
