Well greenbee i tried. Got kids to bed, squeezed into ridiculous sports bra which was supposedly fitted by bra expert, and does indeed fit but is bloody difficult to get on:eek: Got rest of gym kit on, found a sports bottle went out into cold, drove there to see a very closed looking gym and the manager just getting into his car and looking at me like I was crazy. So they must have changed the closing times since I last went, wonder how long it has been since they changed them:o Will phone tomorrow and see if it was just an early closing because its the weekend thing or if I am never going to be able to go after the kids are in bed then I need to find a new one as they have also cut the hours of the creche considerably as I found out last week when I had my hair dyed and had to have it straightend with dd on my knee as they were closing:mad:
My house is looking soooo good. have a massive pile of ironing to do after todays good drying weather but apart from that it is gleaming- god i love being a flylady:T:j:A:rotfl::DCross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
carol - well done with the walk. The main thing with a walk like that is stamina, so I'd recommend regularly going out for good length walks, and invest in some decent shoes/trainers. Running trainers can be good for pavement walking as they're designed for pavement running rather than walking shoes/boots which aren't!
Rach is absolutely right - I did the moonwalk last year and it was hard work (and about 6 miles too long!) There are plenty of places to go for advice on the web, and there are always books (I used this one) which as well as providing training plans give you useful info like lacing diagrams for trainers. You can buy trainers for walking rather than running too (I use the New Balance ones). All the other kit is important too - sports bra, water bottle/hydration system, socks, zinc tape (well, it is for me, I have to tape my heels to stop myself getting blisters). Gadgets are good too... some of the heartrate/step/GPS systems will tell you exactly where you've been, how fast you went, how long your steps were and how hard you worked!
Supper eaten, lunch sorted for tomorrow. I'm going to eat breakfast here as I'll be going to the gym after work (hopefully). Chicken pretty much cooked so I'll switch off the SC and leave it to cool overnight, then deal with it in the morning. I may well have got myself into another one of those over-stocked situations again
Thifty - does your gym have a website? If so, work out what's open when, what classes etc are on and whether it will still work for you. If it doesn't, start looking up other gyms in the area to find one that suits you. There is no point in paying membership if you can't/don't get there!
ETA - AnW's mum - email is sent. Carol - I'm not ignoring you, just haven't had time to have a proper look at the revised version. However, it looks good and it probably just needs a careful proof-read and tidy! Well done.0 -
Hi everyone, not had chance to catch up yet so ((hugs)) to all who need or want one, actually no, you can have one even if you don't want one because you're lovely
My baby is homehe seems to have had a good time, scout leader mentioned some issues between the boys fighting, unsure if DS2 was as far involved as he seemed to be because he's such a big kid he tends to be most noticable for running round like a looney......thud thud thud......anyway he wasn't saying much so will ask my friend who went with them when I see her in 2 weeks.
A busy day at DPs new club venue, we were concerned how many would show up but a turn out of 21 at a club which struggled to get 2 when he first took over I am happy with that :T many also turned up to have a look around which is promising.
Going to the caravan tomorrow after I take the cardboard (that I forgot to take today) to the tip. Got a few things to do first but in no rush. Speaking of caravans also spoke to our friend who has suggested we go abroad with them next year with the caravan, we might be doing Germany and Holland which sounds interesting, originally it was just Germany. I've never been to either so not bothered. I am sort of leaving it up to them, they know what they are doing abroad in a caravan which is the whole idea of going with them. Feels a bit weird not being in control and we'll either love them or hate them after 2 weeks together :rotfl:
Right, think I best get the banking done while I polish off my cuppa and a low fat Mars bar
PS carol couldn't help but notice about the walk, if you are up north or have a 'go outdoors' nearby they do the backpack water bottles and walking stuff at decent prices.
PPS who has 81 pairs of shoes, actually I don't want to know, surely they must need their own room of the house. WOW!
PPPS embb you are way too organised, I thought I was doing well having bought one thing for DS2, but finished and wrapped.........One day I might be more organised...........

Hi Swinstie, nice to see you xx
Pen Pen hope you are ok and not being bashed. Love the golden bed you gave to LL!
Good news Lala!
Frodders we will all definitely encourage you and give you kicks if req’d, please do the same for me!
I’m loving all the comments on my black sack question, sorry I can’t reply to all individually but here’s some thoughts:
I agree with you all about the boxes, that would be much easier, but I don’t have any and I want to get on with it tomorrow – actually tonight, but he’s here – and I do have black bags! I’ve asked DH to look out for some boxes so will see what happens! Carol, excellent idea about dating the bags – I think I’m going to label them too, “things we use often” “things that it’s doubtful he’ll even want very often” that sort of thing. I agree with Hex about throwing out stuff after six months, that would really help! Greenbee, you are right too – my goal is to get less stuff than we have space for. I sometimes think it’s quite telling if you pack for holiday – you take a couple of bags of the essentials. Do you really need the rest of your stuff? Probably not! Like the deadline idea, that will keep me focused. Got to do that. We have two changes of bedding and two lots of towels, not too bad on things like that. We have too many clothes, well I do anyway! We just have too much “stuff” – and I’m sure we can just get rid of a lot of it.
Hypno well done on getting on top of all your stuff, what a great feeling that must be!
Carol,I love the sound of the midnight walk, well done you!
Yay, Tooch, please join me! I need support!
rosepink dont get down about it. I was impressed with your before and after pics last week so you can do it. I know it can seem demoralising if it is just one person doing the dumping and the other feeling they are doing all the tidying. I got fed up before and made a list of all the things Dh does in the house and what I did and I didnt do as much as I thought so i shut up a bit!:o
I agree with the black bags just so you can clear a room but couldnt you use boxes, one for each room and just chuck stuff into whichever room box it belongs then carry each box into each room then attack that box and empty it.
I would dump the boxes first then go back to the room you started with which should be clear apart from the one box so you will end up with one room completely clutter free. And then repeat in the next room. hope that makes sense. When I had sorted all rooms then I would clean, cant clean a room when its a mess it takes twice as long:mad: When I was pregnant with dd I had dodgy hips so I had a cleaner 2 hours a week. We would spend the night before tidying as we both agreed we were paying her to clean and not tidy and we wanted our money's worth:money:.
Come on girl go for it this week and I'll [STRIKE]be on your back keep [/STRIKE]encouraging you all week:rotfl:your post makes lots of sense - you clearly know what it's like! Here I am floggingmyself to get the place half decent like a mug and then it's all undone in five minutes! He does work hard tho, and will always help out at home if needed even if he's had a tough day at work. He's very sweet really. I love your box idea, that sounds fab - and please be on my back and make me do it!
and Rose - there is no reason why once worn clothes can't go on hangers and/or go back in drawers.
(You could always febreze them)
TBH it's actually a medical necessity - clutter and mess is depressing in itself IYSWIM - putting things away will help YOU
The more stuff is out the harder and harder it looks...
(You could get Kim and Aggie round - I'd defy them to find a xmas tree in your flat)
I also found this in a magazine and have torn it out to stick on the fridge: "Clutter creates chaos, making the room appear congested. To open out the space, empty the area and only put back what is needed or loved."
It's true about the chaos, one of DH's main problems is that he can never find anything - my plan should really help him I hope"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Well my HHC ended up being a full-scale fling and sort of paperwork in the living room. The paper piles are now considerably smaller, and the recycling bin has been fed. Forgot to bring home the plastic wallets from school but have decided that the best place for all of the school policies etc, is in my NQT folder, as one of the standards is something to do with knowing and following school policies etc.
Have just had dinner (posh M&S crispbakes - also yummy, and the first time we'd had them, with baby leaf salad and celery, nut and raisin salad, followed by lemon drizzle cake that was given to us by MIL tonight).
Feeling very full now. Watching The Constant Gardener, but I'm getting a bit confused about what's going on, as I've missed a few bits whilst doing the dinner.
Colleagues not coming tomorrow after all, as one can't make it - quite pleased really as I've got some cooking and baking to do tomorrow too (leek and potato soup with homegrown leeks, and key lime pie with limes that have been given to us by a neighbour). I've also got loads of bananas to use from the same neighbour, so will have to hunt out some recipes - I'm not keen on banana bread, but OH likes it, so may make some for him to take in his lunchbox.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

Be my guest.
My medical opinion on cluttter = depression = more clutter and mess = deeper depression is based ENTIRELY on seeing sad people made happy by Kim and Aggie (and Dawna Walters) though - seriously some of the people on there (not the horsey/farm ones funnily enough) - are depressed by the mess; it gets worse and they are unable to fight their way out BUT there has to be something in it. I didn't think I had a lot of clutter but I have been ruthless since joining this thread and carp (ornaments/wedding ring!) left by OH has gone; I no longer hang on to things because they were expensive/a gift and I have got rid of stuff which I have had for a while, enjoyed and then let move on...
Take it off; hang it up then wear it again. If you were worried about it you could always get some coloured hangers to hang once worn stuff on but TBH most people wash stuff uneccessarily frequently.
DD has two pairs of school trouser so they are worn for 3 day at the most; DS is a dirty pig his are CLEARLY dirty after 1 day but quite often I whip stuff out of the laundry basket and rehang it. Most of my skirts/trouser are worn at least twice before washing - jumpers - well depends on the sniff test IYSWIM but a little judicial switching off of clasroom heaters helps there...
I believe the Queen (who gets given a lot of expensive clutter) has it all stashed in vaults and brought out if/when the recipient comes to visit.
As HRH Pigpen has said - memeories are in your heart, not in your possessions...
if there was an imminent flood what would you try to save?
Sexy (probably teaching grandmother to suck eggs) if you're making banana loaf for lunchboxes slice and freeze in greaseproof-wrapped slices (in a container) - it'll last for ages then - one happy Moon!
and MORE IMPORTANTLY less stress for you...
1st job tomorrow PHONE NUT NASUWT ATL as appropriate and I'm rep for mine and they are in no particular order...

It was me!! All found under the bed when 'sorting out under the bed' was on the list - and that was only shoes; boots and trainers kept elsewhere!! Not as bad now, although I haven't actually counted, but all shoes, boots and trainers are now kept in under-the-bed storage boxes and are all neat and tidy!! (ebay is working miracles at getting rid of some!)
