Please come along!!! I know it's hard to drag yourself out at the weekend, but it'll be worth it
I think we've all had a tough week at work this week, and it would be good to get away.
I honestly will try! DH has had a couple of beers tonight which means he'll probably be happy not to walkso therefore I should be ok. But I'll text froddy in the morning. You can see my work from the 02 - it's right opposite!
My week has been ok, just busy, but i don't mind that and after all the carp i put up with in the last job the fact that I get good feedback is the best thing.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Ironing all done.
Poor DS2 is really fed up with his sore throat, I know the feeling it is such an annoying constant burn. Off to bed in a minute and think I'll take my homoeopathy books up and see if I can pinpoint a remedy for us.
Queen Victoria is just eating some crisps on my desk. She is cross with me as I took the remaining stitch out of her wound earlier and she was not best pleased at being pulled about. Poor love. A kid was really mean to her out on our driveway earlier, called her over and then startled her. I went running down the road after said child and gave them a piece of my mind so they knew what it was like to be frightened too - I am turning into a right old hag :rotfl:
Hope you all have a good day out tomorrow, wish I could have made it too, maybe next time.
Mudders hope your DS sleeps again tonight, poor thing re his boxed up possessions.
Valli - you are staying much calmer with your teenager than I am. Mine broke a pain of glass in an internal door yesterday and I was so cross I could not speak to him for 20 hours - I kid you not.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I'm shattered, so hoping that I feel better in the morning, and up to coming to the meet!
Look forward to seeing you tomorrow - I'll text froddington and sexymouse if there's any change of plan.
Love and hugs all round. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Dropped DS2 off after dashing about like a blue bottomed fly today, last 2 camps he's gone when we've been away on weekends that kept me very busy, this time I am home, sat quiet and missing him loads. I worry so much when he's away but he loves it so I can't stop him going because I miss him. I sorted his bed for him before I left then realised I was just hanging around
, they are indoors in bunks but it felt really cold-ok the door was open and people were going in and out . I know he will have a great time but.....I miss him
:o Sorry DP says I shouldn't be so soft. It was quite cute the little lad who's always looked out for him since he started infants switched rooms with someone to be with him as they split them last time leaving DS2 a little lost.
Right ok less worrying, I'm taking DS1 up the caravan tomorrow, make the most of spending time just me and him as he's been more of a Daddy's boy this year. He will of course mostly be in the pool so going to take the work I need to do for while he's busy as he doesn't appreciate company in the water. Going to start Xmas shopping online, well get some ideas together at least!
This week is probably going to be a stuff it week, it's half term the caravan is on site until Friday before it goes back to storage so the boxes to unpack and house to finish can wait a week while I enjoy some time with my boys.Maybe I am starting to relax a bit more. I'll still be keeping the caravan clean and tidy while I am there, but the rest can wait. Rainy windy days on the beach, kids playing in the pool...............stuff it week is here
well ok after I leave in the morning as the kitchen and laundry needs doing before we go :rotfl:
Thanks for listening to my being a soft bag of fluff ((hugs)) for all you special people x xOne day I might be more organised...........

? for teachers (secondary)
One of DS's classes behaved so badly yesterday (he was not involved) that the teacher ended up in tears at the end of the lesson. I think this is appalling for the poor teacher to be at her wits end like that. Should I report it to the school to get her some support or would that be a disaster for her? She is an experienced teacher but is not known for her class room control. This was a top maths set of Yr 11 students who I really think should be able to behave by now:rolleyes:The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
re DS he is being angelic but I am NOT going to lay out money for a phone 'just like that'.
In this house there are things that desperately need doing (replacing) and have for a while...
If he wants a phone he will have to get hist buckets out and go car washing and find out that getting what you want is hard work..maybe then he will appreciate and look after what he's got.
In actual fact I have had all income from his amazon and e bay sales so if I can be bothered I willpass him that and he can work out how to make it up to buy the phone he wants. In a way it doesn't help that his cousin (my sister's youngest) is on a contract, as all are, and they get new phones regularly .. mind you his oldest 3 cousins all got cars. (My sis has 4 kids, 22, 20, 18 and 14) Well one of life's lessons DS - they have a dad who has his own business. And who can't/won't say no to his kids. I can. (smashing bloke though my Bil and if I was really stuck they would help if I asked...)
I refuse to buy him a new phone, in effect a new toy 'just like that'.
I have
broken, misted DG units
back door with 1 broken hinge
manky carpets in bedrooms (thanks, in part, to OH who was slapdash with paint)
no shower (broken)
toilet cistern lid is glued together and gthere is a crack in the kitchen sink
oven is carp and the timer broke
kitchen is carp too - badly planned and MFI - nuff said
tumble dryer works fine BUT lives in shed
fridge freezer had rust spots (and THAT was second hand - little sis again)
Broken patio window which has been bolted shut - for 10 years...
yeah - a mobile phone is a HUGE priority
my mobiles?
1 - free phone from barclaycard
2 - insurance replacement as 1 was stolen
3 - little sis again (unwanted Nokia as seen in the Matrix)
4 - Motorola (I liked it) but battery stopped holding charge - xmas gift from parents
5 Donated Siemens had belonged to DS's GF ( they heard me moaning about 4) and this is the one I'm using at the momentDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I would clean the kitchen myself a day or 2 before hand - good idea though!
toots xx
I meant the new kitchen not mine! Mine of course will be spotless including the oven;) will have hob food or takeaway night before too but we are long way off from that yet. The man we are buying from works away a lot and eats out a lot so there was very little in the fridge so am hoping it will be pretty easy to clean. But being the control freak that I am I will want to be at the new house cleaning before hubby and friend load the van up and deliver but will want to be at this house making sure they dont break anything and load everything properly!
Thanks for the link Toots. food for thought, not too keen on lists like these as they always make me feel under pressure or inadequate in some way. Lots of the things I would like to do involve lots of money I will never have:rolleyes:Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0 -
I have just done THIS for the fridge...You can’t have what you want when you want it because…
· the back door has a broken hinge.
· many of the double glazed window units are steaming up and ALL need to be replaced. And the patio door is broken.
· all the carpets in all the bedrooms need to be replaced.
· the oven is broken and doesn’t heat up properly (no timer).
· the telephone bill is prohibitively expensive…don’t call mobiles from our landline.
· the kitchen units need replacing; the tumble dryer should NOT be in the shed.
So you get what you NEEDnot what you WANTDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Maybe DS can have a phone (not top of the range... just a phone - which I can provide if he's on vodafone as I have a spare 5 year old nokia!) if he comes up with a solution, and resolves, one of the above. Resources are freegle and his own ingenuity... (point him at the LETS website).
What are the floorboards like under your carpets? Could you get him to take the carpet up and sand/paint or varnish the floorboards?
Sounds like you need- back door fixing
- DG units fixing (there are people who fix them rather than replace)
- window fixing
- carpets replacing or removing and floor painting/waxing/varnishing
- plumber (or if the shower is electric, a new shower which could be fitted DIY rather than by a professional)
- new kitchen including appliances\
- new bathroom
I've done the kitchen in my house, and the utility room is mostly done. I have no idea when I'll get the bathroom and upstairs done, but I did sand and paint all the floors upstairs as I couldn't afford carpet, and some of the floorboards are in really bad condition with big holes in themRugs are great

dusty difficult one. I would appreciate the support in a way but it would draw attention to her from senior management. Its the holidays so she will be recovering (that prob sounds pathetic to people with normal jobs but teaching just gets worse) and may just wish to try and forget about it. I have never been in that position and any anger I have felt I have managed to keep it in until the barstools have left. I have never been too scared to ask for help though and my classroom management skills are one of my strengths. It's all too easy to blame yourself for their behaviour. I often wish I had a camera in my classroom so I could show parents who think the sun shines out of their kids bums just how foul and obnoxious they can be but then you have to be careful what you wish for!Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0
